Ok, so we need 1 vote encompassing what we want to focus on and what we want to ask right?

—[x] Explain about our unification war, the Sombra wars, Libertalia and Maretonia. Obviously present it in a favourable way, but no actual lies. The stories paint us as the heroes, or at least a reasonable party in it, anyway. Make sure to point out what we did to help Libertalia (ex-pirates), Crystal Ponies (ex-slaves), and how we tried to help Maretonia before deciding we HAD to interfere directly (also that they were slavers, and in our first contact had enslaved some of our own people).

We should definitely share maps with them, so they know who is bordering and surrounding them. Maybe a basic summary of the geopolitical tensions and status to help them avoiding stepping on toes.
Gawain has no idea about the Changelings, we kept it pretty tight and he probably won't know till the last minute if we don't solve the issue in time(before the Kings retirement or death)
For us, we should probably ask about their history, map and information about the Fall of Discord. Lastly, we should ask them about their Cutie Marks, this will give an allusion to us having ponies in our Kingdom and we can see if Luna and Celestia still play the same role as they do in ther series.
I want to ask them of their technological level too but that is too much to ask. It would make it seem like we are measuring them up. We have no idea how they might be able to compete in trading and the international market.
I kinda want Gawain to be personally connected with the Princesses too, making genuine friendships with them would be great and Gawain would have access to wise characters such as Celestia or Luna in times of need or grief(when the King and Queen dies).

Honestly from our perspective the white guards thing may indicate a degree of racism, which would essentially go against everything Gryphus stands for

It is most likely just an enchantment. The Royal Guard mainly follow Celestia, so their Golden Armor and White Fur may be representing that. Warriors of Light and all that.
