Well, due to our intrigue result, we will need the highest amount of mercenaries possible because I'm afraid that if Wingbardy hears of this, they are likely to stab us in the back to avoid being crushed.

They and what army? and that is completely disregarding that his Population WOULD NOT stand for attacking their saviors. He would be practically killing himself by doing that.

Edit:
EDIT: I would be willing to drop the mutineers if asked.
Please change the mutineers to the berserkers so that we may save 1600 gold (which is by the way more than what we need to pay for the three more immediate useful companies, who not only give us more than 5 times the number of soldiers but also minimize the chance of something going wrong for us [exploding tanks of whatever they are burning]

We do need coin for rebuilding after this, not just our newly taken territory but also Wingbardy.
... we have a fuckton of coin and are making 2000 per year.

While I would like nothing more than to have flamethrowers on our side and a very fun captain. It is currently not necessary if the war isn't over and we have to chase him down then we might look into hiring them next turn.
So why not vote for them?

If we can get the Duke on our side he will retain control over his lands. Essentially he's going to get a promotion from duke to Archduke. The highest rank possible for a Noble that isn't in the direct royal family. He will be the most powerful Noble in the Empire. None of the other nobles are going to get anywhere near his level

What's this? a mlp quest? I didn't even think these existed!

Count me in! :lol

I'm VERY tempted to vote "all of them", but considering this rationally We want to win while mantaining the BEST image possible. Burning other griffins might be seen badly, and we're fighting on an ally's territory.

We want to do as little damage to cities/infrastructure as possible (if all goes well we might even reach some diplomatic agreement to have wingbardy join our kingdom as well), and 4 flamethrower are still only 4.

Also we DO have enough ships.

nothing against any of the other options though.

...on second thought, i'll still go for

[X]All of them.

the more we have, the faster we win, maybe even get them to surrender without a fight. And we might get hints of how the flamethrowers work.

The extra ships could, i suppose, be a usefull distraction. Not essential, but they can't hurt really.

This is our first war, we want to make a STRONG impression on everyone. As Roosevelt said "speak softly and carry a big stick, you will go far."

Welcome to the party.

Edit: As far as I can tell, this is the only mlp empire quest, not the only quest because i'm pretty sure theirs a trixe one on SV, not too sure. It also might be dead

Brochard will NOT surrender he knows he NEEDS to win to keep both his head as well as his crown, the boats cost us 600 Gold which we could use to rebuild wingbardy and aquilla. (we also have DOUBLE his ships so 12 against 24 or 12 against 26 is no real impact) And as for the Flamethrowers: we just discovered freaking BLACKPOWDER, we do not NEED the ludicrous expensive Flamethrowers against FLYING enemies. (and reverse engineering them is just asking for murphy to burn down AT LEAST the Researchbuilding, those things are a health-hazard for EVERYONE involved not only the enemy.)

[X]All of them.

We can afford it, and we would benefit greatly from a decisive victory. Being cheap now is not that good an idea.

Heres the thing people all of you saying being cheap is bad right now well for the money were spending on we get TWO boats which give us nothing what so ever and FOUR possible useful flamethrowers in what sense are we being cheap when we are just avoiding paying for things that are utterly useless to us. When we can spend that money on better relations with both Wingbardy and aquilas by helping them rebuild we might not always have such a plentiful coffer to draw from lets put it to use on rebuilding.

EDIT: also let not forget our bolt throwers could easily out preform the flamethrowers and with much less ire from the people. for you know NOT ROAST OUR KIND ALIVE

So why not vote for them?

It's not about the money it's about necessity. The boats and the flamethrowers offer us nothing substantial for the price. We also as has been stated need to help with the rebuilding. Everyone seems to think that just because we take the territory we're going to instantly increase in income it's actually going to be the opposite. One side has been constantly taxed into oblivion so they don't have anything to give, and will require us to prop them up until they can recover which will be at least a few years. The other is getting invaded buy a bunch of scum who are basically destroying everything. Even if they don't join us unless we're really stupid or callus we're going to be spending money to help them recover as well. I would rather save that money than wasted on something that gets us nothing.

Better to get them before Broturd tries to buy them all for an extra desperate push, eh?

Wont happen for two reason one of it being the boat specifically hate him for stealing their fishing boats and two hes out of money.

EDIT: what is with you people go "just cause we can afford it lets do it" NO thats not how this works just cause we CAN get them dosent mean we NEED them in this war. For the love of all that is griffion I implore you all to go with the reasonable choice here.

    [X] The Crimson Company
    [X] Captain Kingfisher's Marvelous Mutineers
[X] The Wood Stalkers: Experienced Archers/Scouts that specialize in Forest Combat, they have years of experience hunting Timberwolves and Feral Diamond Dogs throughout Griffonia. (Numbers: 200 Warriors, 300 Archers) Cost: 300 Gold
[X] Captain Kingfisher's Marvelous Mutineers: Before Brochard started constructing actual warships, he forcibly confiscated several fishing boats from coastal settlements to serve as makeshift patrol vessels. Naturally this didn't fly with many of the local fisher-gryphs. One former boat captain by the name of Gerard Kingfisher led several of his fellows in a daring raid to steal back his boat, along with a shipment of weapons. Branded outlaws, they now make a living as privateers and pirate-hunters, offering a special discount to anyone asking them to raid Aquileian naval vessels. (Numbers: 2 Caravels loaded with 300 angry sailors) Cost: 600 Gold
[X] The Troll-busters: These eccentric exiles of Feathersian nobility are unusual even by mercenary standards. Wielding strange and unwieldy mechanical contraptions that spew streamers of fire like draconic maws, they've made a name for themselves burning down swathes of monster infested forest for the highest bidder. Despite their pitiful numbers, they charge absurdly high rates for their services; apparently those "flamethrowers" aren't cheap to operate or maintain. Still, they would doubtlessly be a valuable asset in battle. (Numbers: 4 Flamethrowers) Cost: 1000 Gold

Are the battles between heroes going to be like in warhammer? Or like in A Dynasty of Dynastic Alcoholism?

I don't have any expectations, as this is a fun quest.

Once Aquileia is absorbed Wingbardy will follow as well. I don't really see the reason for doing what you said as he will keep his title and rulership of his lands, ad to that that we will help him rebuild, fact that we defended him against Aquileia, will offer him protection from bandits and beast's of the forest, all of this is enough for him to svear fealty without us creating Archduchy that would give him or his descendants power to usurp the throne.
Remember just like people are now talking about saving money for rebuilding we must think about future stability of the kingdom and creating a family that can rival the power of royal family isn't guarantee for longlasting stability of the empire.

I really want the flamethrowers but the logic dictates that we will have to take care of the problems caused in our new territories by useless king that we will kill in the next turn.
