Article One is not an Everything Proof Shield, it is a vague platitude about values. We say no thanks the emperor says 'As the Heir of Magnus and Sigmar's Holy Empire I command you do do it.' What do we do then, just insult him and blithely assume there will be no fallout from him or his faction?

This really feels like fearmongering. What would we do if we were Loremaster at large and the Emperor ordered us to assassinate a Dwarf King, or even Belegar? What would we do if we were researching Waystones and the Emperor ordered us to stop?

Yep, me too.

Btw I wonder how powerful Neferata is. And if she could be scared away from there and somewhere else. Or even killed. With a help of a friendly dragon or two and a team of wizards like Melkoth brain-storming the problem. Terrorizing vampires could be fun. And would work for the Empire by weakening or removing the Lahmian infiltration for decades or forever.

Hahaha no. To give context Aborash, some dude Neferata forced vampirism on, and thus wasn't as acclimated to it, kinda became famous for 1v1ing an Emperor Dragon and drinking its blood.

I don't know why did Dieter exist? Why are all emperors not saints? I don't get why this is so hard to swallow honestly.
Luitpold isn't Dieter. Us accepting a job won't magically turn him into a maniac. Whenever he's been mentioned or has been on-screen he has been shrewd and reasonable. And he can't order us to betray Sigmar's Empire anyways. Under the articles of magic, Empire comes before Emperor so if he tries, we report him to the Colleges and they talk to the Elector-Counts.

The concept of hereditary nobility is stupid anyway, so i don't give a fuck about "lineage theft".
And if this is treason, then we need more traitors. :V
What Luitpold would think if he learned, i don't really care, let's just make sure he never does.
Other things he might be upset about we should never tell him is how we had part in getting his previous wife murdered.

Man is happily married to a smart woman not part of a vampire conspiracy who has given him a son, let's leave it there.

...Gonna be honest here, it really sounds like you're defending rape by deception so long as it happens to someone you're ideologically opposed to. That this is a heavily liked post kinda disturbs me, but it also doesn't change my opinion of SV a single bit.

This isn't rape? She lied about her name, that doesn't make her a rapist. What does someone's name have to do with consent?

I think if such a conversation took place between Heidi and Mathilda, there is a chance only one of them survives the next few days. Or leaves the room alive. A situation I would like to avoid.
If such a conversation took place, it would be because Heidi has lost hor goddamn mind and needs to be taken down, and i want us to be in that room to do so.
Or preferably, make sure that it never gets that far.
Heidi is not an idiot, she won't ask Mathilde to sabotage the empire, and neither is Mathilde, she is not going to go along with sabotaging the empire.

Well there are less reasons why he would do that than sabotage an elector count but on the face of it:
  1. Refuse and self-exile from the empire
  2. Stop or continue in secret
Look people asked me to say what would be the tipping point after years and years of working on something and I did. Obviously it does not have the same impact dropped out of the blue now by me but it is unreasonable to assume that an emperor absolutely cannot give an order that is an edge case on the vague proclamation that is Article 1.

I acctually understand where they are coming from.
Rape by deceptionis a thing, and is no less bad that rape by drugs.
I do not consider this being one though, Heidi is not making false promises, she took a fake identity she is now keeping permanently, there is no rape here unless one considers parentage to be a major part one someones identity, i don't, and while emperor might, i don't care.

People say Heidi wants to manipulate the Emperor into putting her son on the throne, forgetting that he wants the exact same thing. Then they switch gears to but she'll try and sabotage the empire because she's hurr durr untrustworthy. But she still wants her son on the throne. But also she wants to shoot herself in the foot and sabotage the empire. But also her son on the throne. Also crazy Emperor!

There are perfectly valid reasons to not want Bodyguard. These aren't it chief.

Your example failed in that it was, in fact, explicitly against Article 1.

But hey, you want to try again? I'm down for a mulligan!

No, but being on his death bed might make him desperate. So might a host of other things.

>she is now keeping permanently

You don't know that. None of us know that. And that would still be screwy, even if she was.

And she didn't just lie about her parentage. She had to have lied about her activities for the past couple of decades, at least. She had to have lied about her history.

At this point DragonParadox are arguing in circles and imo not in good faith. They'll respond to why they think something will happen with the exact same thing and make baseless claim after baseless claim and just fearmonger despite being asked to stop by Boney.

Personally, while rape by deception always sounded like a stretch to me, I also find fake identity worse than false promises...
