I actually have a new theory about why he didn't provide the needed healing, thanks to Kasmir's investigation into Sylvania's local theology. Simply put, Sigmar didn't do anything because he didn't have the power to do anything in Sylvania.
That's contradicted by the fact that Kasmir has called on his power successfully at a number of other times in Sylvania.

[x] Use Rite of Way to ease the ascent- Will only be necessary during the roughest patches

[x] Scout the lands of the Iron Wolves

Kasmir himself actually debunks that theory. Kasmir was capable of healing people in Sylvania both before and after Abelhelm's death. It was only that moment that Sigmar uniquely didn't help (leading to Kasmir's theory that Abel's soul was urgently needed).

I'm pretty confident that if none of Sigmar's priests could perform miracles (read: cast Divine magic) in Sylvania, someone would have noticed.

I'm not very enthusiastic about a rune that is 'don't roll for misfire'.

I mean, yeah, if you're sniping Malekith, it's probably good to have, but if i spent several favours in making a awesome dwarf rifle i would be a bit pissed if the critical assassination roll had 3 rolls (misfire, aim, and reaction of target), instead of say, cleaning the chamber the day before.

Also fuck getting more skills for shooting good, hell on the action economy and traits that could build on the traits we already have (unless master assassin counts or whatever it's called).
It doesn't matter how well you cleaned it yesterday if you've already had to shoot it today, and haven't had a chance to clean it since.

I do agree that spending AP on training shooting is really not a priority, though. It'll rise slowly on its own if we use it.

Wasn't that later on, after he had reconsecrated a local Shrine to Sigmar? The one Mathilde found him living in when he wasn't killing undead?
He provided the divine light source from which we generated the shadow we used for Burning Shadows to melt the Singing King and his crew. That was in Sylvania, was Sigmar-brand divine magic, and before Abelhelm's death.

I don't think he spent all his time there.
"Three years, then. For the past three years I have walked Sylvania, and Sigmar's power has answered my call more often than not, even when I doubted. And I have seen the good that power has done. Healing wounds, strengthening wills, and defeating the creatures that prey on man. Sigmar did not save Abelhelm, but through me He has saved hundreds since. So either the life of Sylvanian peasants are of greater import than an Elector Count that spent his life fighting, or Sigmar decided Abelhelm's work was finished."

I'm surprised that scouting the land of the Iron Wolves isn't more popular.

Back when the expedition was in its planning stages, I remember a lot of talk about how scouting would be one of the most important things Mathilde could do. Even in earlier weeks of the expedition, I remember discussion about how it was important to socialize then, because later on we would have important duties that wouldn't allow time to socialize and things to see/do that would take up time.

Well. Here we are, but talking to Cyrston von Danling is more important than scouting? I think we could afford one social action this week, but surely not two.

Similar thoughts honestly.

He's sus tho.

(Like, that's actually my reasoning. Hmm. Ok, that's meme tier. Taking him out and putting in the bright wizard (because I'm interested in how the Inexhaustible Flame is going))

(I already have scouting in)

The four with the most votes will be chosen.

Become involved with:
[X] Ranging far ahead of the convoy
- With the Knights of Taal's Fury

Other:
[X] Use Rite of Way to ease the ascent
- Will only be necessary during the roughest patches
[X] Scout the lands of the Iron Wolves
[X] Investigate the 'Windfall' with the Light Wizards
- Where the Winds blowing from the north descend to ground level, which is only know to happen in mountainous terrain: here, the Mountains of Mourne, the Goromadny Mountains, and nothern Norsca.

Iron Wolves sounds like Dragon Ogre boss fight bait from 'just as planned' asshole, but biting.

There are Runesmiths that'll rune guns, but the Rune of the Unknown is melee-weapon only.
Unfortunate, thanks.

We don't need runes for that. Guns aren't that big and we have illusions.
Well, depends on the gun. It's certainly out of the running as a thought now (at least via Rune of the Unknown), but I was thinking something far closer to a cut down Jezail than a short barrel rifle.

I know runes are occasionally carved into ammo for Grudge and Bolt throwers.
Is runic ammunition for a rifle theoretically possible? It's already somewhat controversial to rune guns, and that's not even getting into size constraints...

Why do you want to drop talking to one of our expedition members, people whose capabilities and feelings are important to the success of the expedition, and not the Windfall, which is a side trip of pure curiosity and personal interest? Last week it came down to the wire on the vote for 2 sidetrips vs just 1. We ended up going to 2, and the combes were completely useless: people were justifying their votes in terms of how important it would be for the expedition, and it turned out to be just a loot roll like I said it probably would be. So I am not inclined to drop from the current two interpersonal actions to just one, especially when we know next week will have our side trip for the Ice Witch.

I'm going to trust the Knights of Taal's Fury to handle the Kurgan. Demigryphs are faster than steppe horses, and our steam wagons have nothing to fear from horse archers. So I don't think scouting these guys is important at all.

EDIT: Ignore the struck-through parts of this post, I was pissy when I wrote it. Leaving it up because I wrote it and other people responded to it, but I don't stand by it. I do stand by the un-struck-through part, though.

I know Boney ruled out sticking the Rune of the Unknown on ammunition or ranged weapons for the purposes of it affecting the ammunition, but did he ever say anything about putting it on a gun or cannon for the purposes of just not having to carry a gun or cannon around?

That would be difficult given how the rune of the Unknown is a melee only rune.

Runes that are melee-only are very explicitly melee-only.
@BoneyM, how many favours would it cost to get a Rune of the Unknown on a rifle, or is it not possible?
It's a melee weapon rune.
(Also, Kragg's the only one that knows it, and I doubt we'd be getting him to rune a gun)

Actually, it wasn't purely a loot run: we found out what happened to those Daemons that went east, which we were worrying about. And I suspect that if the Skaven hadn't just been flattened by Chaos Dwarves sensing an opportunity, there would have been a chance to see what their plans were for the Expedition. As it is we can be confident that they are in no position to do anything, which we did not know before.

That would be difficult given how the rune of the Unknown is a melee only rune.

Ah right, that'd put the kibosh on that.

Because windfall will be fun to read about and may help push towards better windsight or understanding of the winds.

We found out both that the Skaven vs. CDwarf Conflict had heavily intensified and what likely happened with the Tzeentchians, but it was just a loot roll?

We have very different reads on what's totally useless and what isn't.
