This is Kislev. See evil. Punch evil in face with axe.

Granted this is also setting the precedent of the Waystone project being an offensive weapon instead of a plow, a shield, or a fourth metaphor i haven't come up with yet everywhere that isn't Kislev, but we were kind of already doing that anyway with our deployment votes.

[x] Bridge of Death and New Town

[X] Bridge of Death and New Town
[X] The Temple of Dazh and the Bleakness

I know it's never going to win, but the Temple of Dazh could be an interesting option.

We already have Ranald open to supporting the Waystones, what could a second God, one connected to the Sun in fact, achieve?

Ranald-Dazh cooperation incoming.

I think clearing out New Town is a good compromise option for the project , getting local support from the Ungol nobles and shutting down a toxic waste site spewing out dhar and "endemic Za beasts" a few meters away from the old town wall.

No bad options here. That being said, we're here to get rid of Praag's corruption, so I'm voting for the one that will do it the fastest

[X] Karlsbridge and Old Town

While long term payoff might be better, what we really need imo is visible effects to show we aren't just another shyster. And also it'll be a lot easier to build stuff later if we don't have hobos trying to wreck the work of foreign wizards ruining their home, as they'd perceive it.

[X] Karlsbridge and Old Town
[X] River Gate and Northeastern Kislev

The sort of ruler who has a Wizard explaining to them what's what is already on board. All the people without convenient magic-bullshit-explainers are the ones who need convincing.

[X] Karlsbridge and Old Town

The citizens of Praag may have little official power but they still have the ability to riot and otherwise make things easier or harder for the many more waystone installations in Praag during the early uncertain period. Old Town is also where most of the people live and will most immediately benefit - the longterm benefit goes to all sections eventually.

I think the Tzar is already pleased and we shouldn't double down with the River Gate option. Between the Bokha Palace Accords, getting the first Waystone in specific, getting Waystones in general, and the overall improvement to Praag that will happen regardless of where the first Waystone is placed, the Tzar's pleasure is assured in both the short term and the long term. The other options are for pleasing intermediate groups, but I think they'll be fine if they see that both the Tzar is happy and the people are happy.

The reduction in subtle mutation and such from clearing a little Dhar from around their houses does not actually compare to the damage that having a place with bleeding streets within spitting distance. Getting rid of new town as fast as possible does not let the gribbles and cults get organized. Any magus in that mess, and there will be Chaos Magi, will be able to feel the pull of the stone in Old Town and they will get the implications. And in that case they will not be 'riled up', they will be acting tactically with time to plan.

Biggest concern I have with the Bridge of Death is that we might not have the chops to answer the five questions three questions the Bridgekeeper is going to ask. :V

Cannot believe no one has made this joke before me.

I see your general point, but I think its specific weight depends on assumptions about numbers and flow rates and troop positioning that we don't have precise info for. (Probably below the level of Boney's tracking, too.) Chaos Magi have also had time to plan and fortify and organize in New Town. In general terms, it's the same gribblies either way, invading their prepared hideout sucks one way and letting them have time to prepare an attack on our ground sucks another way.

I think that if you put the thing close it puts them on more of a timer which can only be good in the long term. It is worth noting that the people of Praag have tried burning that place out before. The moment reality becomes stable enough to allow fire to burn unabated New Town is ash.
