I like the idea of doing for the Dwarves what we did for Stirland but I'd rather see Mathilde make something of her own. Between what we can do with the Demon Snake 'Qhaysh' juice, Liber Mortis' knowledge of Dhar, the counter-evil-magic belt and now Waaaghbane trait we could pretty much become the biggest mage killer against all the evils in Warhammer Fantasy.

Or we could become the biggest evil of all warhammer fantasy!

Or The first of The Benevolent Necromantic Overlords!

I will say right now that I am fully against leading the town, that is not the direction I want Mathilde to go down.
Then don't. These are just preliminary choices and doesn't lock anything in. I voting for the town so that we can expand the EIC and start the Ranald Modification Keikaku. I fully intend to hire someone else to manage it once we have everything we need sorted out.

Heres hoping that if the town option doesnt get in we can swing that tavern on a side action along with occasionally visiting the winter wolves, or if it does get in we can find a capable barkeep amd steward to run most everything like Sonnigwise because out of it all I really just want the tavern and the wolves and not need to worry about anything else while we figure out our various black ops/would get us looked at hard projects like the snek juice or the coin or other stuff. Which is really more like finding a neat artifact and then trying to identify what it do more than "and then I researched four field rotation so now I have +5 mulberries per year per turn".

I'm fine with all of these

Although a fun thought, there are 8 Colleges of Magic and we are in Karak 8 Peaks. Not to mention our Jade Wizard friend will most certainly get attached and probably make her power Wizard tower at some point.

So I am just imagining there eventually being 8 Wizard towers, each situated at one of the 8 peaks.

@BoneyM
How will duties for being a spymaster for a Dwarf king be different than duties under an Elector count?

The top three at the moment are all among my preferences but I'm a bit worried that scouting for horrors isn't one of them. Should I drop journeyman co-authors for now? the golds and Panoramia should be about next turn. Hmm

This is probably a terrible idea, but I wonder if we could crystallize our snake juice into solid high magic, and have Max use it as a power source for his knock-off warpstone tech so it might not give everyone nearby cancer and then explode out of sheer malice.

If we end up with both the shrine to ranald and the ulgu wizard tower we will have a wizard hat and a priest hat we exchange every time we feel like it. Add in our witch hunter hat and this quest has officially become team fortress (or would it be dwarf fortress?).

As much as I want to see the book of grudges, I think this suits our talents better.
See, I absolutely get that.

But our coin hasn't recharged yet, and a turn with two-three actions of scouting the everloving shit out of K8P will be far safer and more efficient.

And, as the vote says, Karak Azul is going to scout the shit out of the place anyway. We aren't leaving ourselves blind or anything.

Voting for Karaz-a-Karak is a vote for Spymistress, but if it's like Stirland, then we pick our focus.
Why? It's like the potted cactus of fiefs; you water it once a year and stop by occasionally to swat any bugs off of it, you don't throw money at it constantly trying to get it to be something other than what it is.
And that was, in fact, the entire point of giving us that particular fief.

Elector Count spymasters are largely concerned with the obedience of the peasantry, the obedience of the nobility, stamping out anyone believing in things they shouldn't, and keeping an eye on the neighbours. Dwarves have the same concern but go about them in different ways, so the Spymaster would mostly be focused on non-Dwarves - greenskins, Dragon Ogres, regular Ogres, Chaos Dwarves, Nehekhara, and so on. You'd also have to keep an eye on the Undumgi, the Halflings and the Ulricans. There aren't many manlings near enough to be an immediate concern but you would have to make sure the Border Princes don't become a problem.
