From the fact that it's worded as "the one who must be the local Highborn" (and the fact that the one saying she mistook Boris for the Boyar is Boney) I think we can be like...99% certain the Boyar is the intended target, if you insist on not 100?
Considering the fact of how faulty Drycha's info gathering in the snip is, i find her definition of "local" also suspect.

I do not think it would be reasonable for this to be a bloodline as far back as Living Nehekatra, as far as we know back then the Gospodars were not even a thing, they were all Scythians, if they had even come into the north of the world, and they would have had little reason to have contact with Kislev. Methinks either the local boyar is a Vampire (that is mixing of blood of a sort) or someone in his ancestry was born to a vampire parent, probably a Lahmian... which would line up with what we know in canon about his family.

I do not think she could be that ignorant, the very land speaks of it, the sky and the water and all the spirits that dwell in it, she might not know that an Ice witch is but the local spirits do and I do not think they would dare refuse to speak to her even if they do not share her malice.
They might just not be able to. The snippet says that the local trees are "too deadened to call for vengeance", which might or might not mean she's not got spirit guidance at all.
Our actions got Young Skarsnik shanked, I seem to recall.
Mathilde wasn't the one doing the shanking, though, unless you want to claim she also killed Karl Fran's by indirectly making sure he would never be born?

Butterflies are one thing, but actually, you know, fighting and killing a named character is another.

The Southern Sands thing has me wondering about Nehek-Elf relations. @Codex, anything inside your Brain Palace on that?
Nehekhara and the Druchii worked together once in a joint slaver fleet, but that was during the 1500's IC well after they've turned Undead. They've also sunk a Black Ark once because a bunch of Druchii stole the mummy gold. Pre-Nagash not much was stated about their relations and strangely enough no mention is made of them getting into conflict even though both were colonisers who had to have come face to face at some point.

*sees the advance scouts of an entire Kislev army* "wow this Bretonnian village militia sure has shitty knights, this fight will be easy"
*sees Boris the bear-wrestler with his personal guard of fanatically loyal professional soldiers and three Ice Witches* "and here is the Boyar, completely vulnerable! I am so good at this"

Was a roll of <10 somewhere in there?

So, given that we're probably going to get an ambush or two on the bad guys, I have to wonder… is Drycha killable? Like, if we cut off her head or drop a dragon flask shot on her in this battle, would she be actually dead? Or does her dryad nature mean she'll just respawn at a particular tree back in Athel Loren or something?

Because it would be nice to get a canon named character kill. I don't think we've managed to get one of those yet, except maybe Alberich? I think that was the chaos guy's name from last action.
Adanhu was permakilled, but that happened because he sucked up all the evil juice from Ariel and he couldn't handle it. I guess Drycha could die, but depending on Boney's interpretation she could also be revived. Drycha died during the End Times after realising how she contributed to the world's destruction and felt regret, and she was revived in Age of Sigmar as Drycha Hamadreth, which has a metal as fuck design:
But I believe she was revived because Alarielle had a fragment of her left when the world ended. If you obliterate every part of her she probably can't come back, just like Durthu couldn't come back in Age of Sigmar.

Wait, you mean she doesn't look like that now?

And here I thought we were going up against a forest spirit mech/battle suit and everything.

On the one hand, that's probably safer. On the other, it's less cool. Kinda balances out.
This is what she looks like now:
Not as threatening because she isn't piloting a mecha made of beehives.

You know I can't help but imagine a Jade Wizard developing a spell that allows them to go Tree Mech suit....probably would have been the theoretical Jade Mathilde.

She looks happy

…Huh. Random thought, but does Drycha use Dhar at all? Because it would be funny if she did, and Mathilde got her anti-Dhar bonus. It's not quite as bad as trying necromancy against her, but a +39–counting Mathilde's base learning—is nothing to scoff at.

Not really. Coeddil does, but she only uses Ulgu.
Oh. Well, at least we've got pretty high Learning regardless. And hey, Magic battles are fun. We might get another Mark or Mastery, especially if we're throwing around magic like we did on the Expedition. I'm kinda hoping we manage to nab the +1 magic one…

The world is big, their civilization cores are rather far away from each other, elves tended to colonize more temperate climate territories while Nehekharans seem to preferred it on the hot side. It's not impossible there was no noteworthy conflicts between them, I guess.
