@Boney I just want you to know that Total War Warhammer 3 has a hilarious dilemma that I couldn't help but think of the quest, specifically because of AV:
The sane response to recieving a box of distilled warp energy is clearly to either inhale it or add it to the water supply. That's clearly what we should do with AV.

Would this be a good time to mention the similar decision where you happen upon two maybe magical cats and one of the options is to kill them and throw them down a well because it might be a Tzeetch plot? I mean you only get a chance to feed one of the cats instead of both! Clearly dragons do not have the capacity to rule if they cannot realize the correct response is always to feed both kitties!

The option is to throw them down a well because it might be a Tzeentch plot, but kill is not part of the option. It's implied, but the cats are clearly avatars of the Dragon Emperor and Moon Empress. Or maybe their physical form but I have serious doubt they would leave their palace to play around as cats in a military encampment.

What, wouldn't you turn into a cat so you can visit your kids and see if they feed you if you could?
 
Yep, sounds like Warhammer parenting. "Let's turn into cats and approach our children to see which of us they like better. This is a normal and healthy thing to do."

Next thing we know Mathilde will be getting requests for AV from a dragon that needs to feed their habit.

Let's not ever show Cython AV. They've mentioned wanting to eat light and feeling sad that they could not. I do not want to test their determination by showing scintillating rainbow light energy that they can consume.

In the Egrimm novel, Alric throws Egrimm and his sister into a snake pit because snakes are the symbol of his order or something, and looked for who would survive. Egrimm did, but his sister didn't, which led him to join Chaos. It's a hilariously stupid backstory that was retconned for this quest for obvious reasons.

If we want to emulate that, we can drown him in AV.

That was the reference I was making, yes. Since Alric didn't throw him in a snake pit in quest canon, Mathilde should (metaphorically?) throw him into the study of snake blood, to keep the cosmic balance.

Speaking of Alric and falling to Chaos...we pretty much have conformation that Alberich was in the Everchosen tournament, right? But when Boney posted the tournament bracket it was, well, a tournament bracket. Did we kill Alberich before he even got to his first match? Or did we interrupt that match? Because as far as we know, the only person that was opposing Alberich was...Alric.

Oh, so does this mean we're... not planning on binding an apparition around a Hysh Powerstone as a core and setting the result loose near Karak Zilfin?

Special Dilemma for Mathilde's campaign, either make friends with Cython for research boost, kill him for a one time reward or enable his AV habit for a free unique dragon unit.

Imo, he was trying to enter the first bracket. Then he hanged his personal heraldry on the sedan chair he used in the middle of a manhunt targeted against him! His enemy was his own arrogance, and it won.
