So if the alpha strike goes wrong in some way, we will have a much harder time following up if we've got a mouth and throat full of Aqshy, whereas with Branulhune or Shadow Knives we can press the attack without issue. It's significantly more difficult or significantly slower to cast silently, but you should have at least a little breathing room after sneezing out that thing.
I assumed we will report to everyone involved in case there are any aftershocks, Roswita, The Witch Hunters, Algard and Heidi are the big ones who should know. What do you guys think, is it worth talking to Heidi about this once it is done? Just as a heads' up that there might be Chaos worshipers who know more than they aught about her claim and they might at an outside chance have some sort of proof to back it up.
One the one hand she might overreact and draw more attention to herself than she would have otherwise, but she was skilled enough to get to where she is today so I do not think that is likely.

I don't think it is as risky as all that. At this point the trail is very cold. It has already been years and most of the people that might answer questions are dead.So here's my worry.
My personal theory behind how Heidi managed to fool several incredibly skilled and highly funded organisations (Emperor's Eyes, Witch Hunters, Colleges, Cult of Sigmar etc.) is not that she had a foolproof story. Personally I think it would be utterly ridiculous to expect her to have conjured one out of thin air within such a short time that resulted in all these organisations somehow missing that she never existed.
My theory behind how she managed to fool all of them is simple. Ranald spending the majority of the juice he got from Gork and Mork on this one gambit. If Ranald, one of the Old World's Major Gods, expends all the energy he stole, he could make any number of coincidences and lucky breaks occur to make it so that all the different organisations never come across the exact leads they need or come to false conclusions, creating an effective comedy of errors.
The problem here is that I don't think Ranald can do that again on a whim, not without another Gork (or possibly Mork) incident. Which isn't exactly a common occurence. This isn't to say that her story is full of holes and easily discoverable or anything, but that I wouldn't want to risk the Empire's organisations checking again.
All those romance books have infested her brain with Drama (TM).
I was going to make some arguments for the Dragonflask, but this convinced me otherwise. Even if Mathilde's first attack fails, nullifying whatever magical protections he's got tilts any climatic battle drastically in our favor. (And it doesn't hurt that if we succeed, it's by far the most cinematic way to finish this hunt.)- Even if somehow not sufficient to kill in one swing, Rune of Superior Skill makes any magical protections and items on hand inoperable. Might be we are not the only ones carrying shenanigans here. Teleport trick? Idol to boost the hypnosis aura? Best remove the consideration.
While I agree, we don't actually get the macanhical effect of the fast draw until we finish the sword style[x] Kill: Branulhune
We're damn quick on the draw with magic but Bralhune's flicker speed is fast even by melee standards with no wind wind up before - it gives the least warning and hits the hardest. Even if Alberich does have the that's not even my only head thing going on, sudden bisection is what we call a major penalty to combat or running away.
[X] Kill: Branulhune
I wonder if Alberich has the favor of some god and we will get Ranald to throw down with Slaanesh. I'd like to see that.
The narrative effect will do just fine today though. While I agree, we don't actually get the macanhical effect of the fast draw until we finish the sword style
Ranald's not about to "throw down" with one of the Big Four if he can help it. Steal their lunch money while they're distracted by someone else maybe, but not face in a head-on confrontation. We got stupidly lucky with the Only Mork incident, and if we'd rolled badly, Slaneesh would have shown up and screwed us over.I wonder if Alberich has the favor of some god and we will get Ranald to throw down with Slaanesh. More like he sucker-punched Khorne and then ran away screaming to distract Khorne from the fight.I meant like with the champion of Khorne back in the wastes. He literally fought the god of violence for us. It can happen again.
