[X] Perpetual Apprentice Culloch

[X] Egrimm, to celebrate his imminent promotion and gauge his reaction to it.
[X] Elrisse, to get to know the most recent contributor to the Project.
[X] Gretel, who's apparently getting involved in the Karaz Ankor's ambitions in the Border Princes.
[X] Panoramia, to talk about how well her project in the Eastern Valley seems to be going.
[X] Cython, to talk obliquely of what it means for a God to have offspring.

[X] Yes
So, I'm contractually obligated to vote for anything involving the Forest of Shadows, even the corner furthest away from the Nordlander Hedgefolk, a corner so remote that Mathilde didn't even know it was considered part of it. But I think this might be worthwile regardless of that. The Druids practiced their rites for a long time and I have to imagine they weren't entirely useless, since it's not like the Reik basin was a big cloud of Dhar until Teclis showed up and told humans they were doing magic wrong.
Others have said that they trust Panaroth to know what his Order knows, and I agree. Which is why...

[X] Perpetual Apprentice Culloch
I believe most Druidic traditions in the Jade Order were supplanted by Teclisian magic, as Panaroth indicates. To have any chance of finding the original teachings of the Cult of the Mother we must look back in time, to the days before Teclis, and this is the man who can do it.

Finally the social vote:

[x] Egrimm, to celebrate his imminent promotion and gauge his reaction to it.
[x] Belegar, to discuss who has been made Loremaster after you.
[x] Middenland, to see how the Ulricans are going with their new Eonir coreligionists.
[x] Kasmir, to see how partnership with Sylvania's native faith has been going.
[x] The Gold College, to see what's become of their research into Skaven technology.

I'm pretty ambivalent on the jade stuff right now, so I'll abstain until (if) I make up my mind and just vote for the socials:

[x] Egrimm, to celebrate his imminent promotion and gauge his reaction to it.
[x] Elrisse, to get to know the most recent contributor to the Project.
[x] Panoramia, to talk about how well her project in the Eastern Valley seems to be going.
[x] Cython, to talk obliquely of what it means for a God to have offspring.
[x] Roswita, to get a sense for who will control Sylvania after you turned down the position.
[x] Kasmir, to see how partnership with Sylvania's native faith has been going.
[x] Pay a visit to your fief, to see if anything has changed. It probably hasn't.

[x] No

[x] Elrisse, to get to know the most recent contributor to the Project.

[x] Cython, to talk obliquely of what it means for a God to have offspring.
[x] Stirland, to see for yourself how the war against Sylvania is progressing.

I'm uncertain about Culloch; if the info is part of general history then he'll have it, but if it's internal mystery cult specific there's a good chance he won't. Need to think for a bit on this one.

I think people aren't valuing the Jade Order's knowledge enough.

First, even if the Jades only know Teclis-derived knowledge, that's still more than Mathilde has right now. It is not impossible that Laurelorn is missing some of that knowledge, given that it was formed by Teclis from old Druid rituals; Teclis himself likely had knowledge that Laurelorn does not, given how long ago they split off, and what Teclis could do with those rituals as a starting point is likely more than what he could do from scratch.

Second, Paranoth is clearly a standard-bearer for bringing the Jade order into the modern era, with all that entails. Honestly, in a vacuum, it's a stance I can appreciate. But it means that he doesn't give credence to claims that there's something worthwhile in the old ways, and is biased against such beliefs. He's not infalliable, and is the last person anyone who does hold such beliefs would tell about any secret knowledge from the old days.

Third, even if there's not enough knowledge left to do anything with on its own, the entire point of this project is bringing together the scraps of knowledge that people can't do enough with without the other pieces. Some old Druid secret that seems worthless to Paranoth might be vital in the context of any or all of the other old secrets we'll be bringing together.

All this for a single AP? We're going to have to go down a lot of potential avenues of research, and some of them may turn out to be duds, but if we ignore every avenue that isn't a sure thing we aren't going to achieve much more than the bare minimum here.

Not sure if we should go for the ritualist or the historian, though.

I do not want to do this, but if it does go through this is the place we are the most likely to find some scrap of useful lore.

[X] Egrimm, to celebrate his imminent promotion and gauge his reaction to it.

It is an important milestone for him, even more so that usual since he was so resentful at the loss of prestige from Alaric's meddling

[X] Panoramia, to talk about how well her project in the Eastern Valley seems to be going.

We have not had a social action with her for years, I think she is due

[X] Stirland, to see for yourself how the war against Sylvania is progressing.

Sounds like things are getting hot, we should see how Roswita is doing

[X] Belegar, to discuss who has been made Loremaster after you.

Wanted to do this last turn, but it got pushed out, let's see how Belegar is doing in our absence and what the poor dwarf loremaster thinks of all our Zhuf notes.

[X] The Amber College, to check in on the salamanders.
[X] The Gold College, to see what's become of their research into Skaven technology.
[X] Follow up on your donation of the Skaven organ-vat, and see what has been made of it.

Let's just do one of these please, I do not really care whitch, but we should at least try to see what came of them given that they were each worth some amount of resources on our part.

Personally I don't think that the Jade order is useless and in a world with infinite AP we should get them, but we have to balance our AP costs and right now the cost-benefit of the Jade order appears to be less than other options we have.

Many of my choices are inspired by what I want to see, and what I want to see is beautiful women. Belegar and Egrimm get to tag along.

Right now this only. Will vote for the rest later. I think that even if Jades know next to nothing about not-Teclidean Waystone stuff, they will at least bring to the table practical application of Waystone related Teclis teaching, which will bring us closer to being on-par with the elves.

Don't forget that the Ice Witches are active in the area, and Pannoth hinted that the Hedgewise might be receptive to us as well.

That one AP could translate into favour and friendship with two more factions we want to recruit. I think, based on that alone, we should try.

At the very least, it might make the Ice Witch recruitment easier in the future.

As the self appointed Head of Ranald Daugther Research I can confidently tell you that no, no one came up with this so far. I'll add it to my theory post later on. If will be super helpful if you could try and summarize the points for and against the theory, I'll try and do it myself but I know literally nothing about this piece of lore and I'm sure you can do a better job.
Thank you @mathymancer, I was despairing a little bit, I had this big, someone has got to have thought of this before me, moment but when I looked no one had. I got so excited that I posted it immediately without thinking about how it would get eaten up by the thread vote. Then I came back and saw literally no replies to my "brainblast"

P.s. On to your request I can try but I have none of the codex or anything serious like that, just what can be found online. Ill try anyway though in a bit

Alas it looks like Julia got pushed out of the social vote. Probably because it's been so long it would be too awkward to reconnect at this point.

As for the Jade College, well I can't say I'm not enticed by the idea of an adventure in magical woods chasing a mysterious problem. We can gather up a ragtag group of adventurers with varied origins and hunt down the vile villain threatening the citizens of Ostermark.

The Hochlander can be the gruff ranger, Johann our valorous fighter, Egrimm the grumbling healer, Mathilde a sneaky rogue. Is this group maybe a little too high leveled for this campaign? Maybe, but that's part of the fun.

Don't worry about it, just do your best to make the best case for the theory that you can. If there are any glaring holes in it that you can see yourself you should probably mention them, but don't worry too much about arguing against yourself. Part of adding the theory to my post is making the case against it, and poking holes in an argument is much easier than making one.

To be honest, I didn't reply because I had never heard of the Sisters of Twilight before, but I've just looked them up and yeah, I can see them being the Daughters of Loec and Isha in Boney's Warhammer. I don't think it's a conclusion I would leap to naturally—they do feel very "mortal" to me, but they are just special enough that if they are the Sisters, I would go "huh, neat".

Also, they ride a dragon into battle, which tells me they have exceptionally good taste.

I'm torn between ritualist or historian, but since we didn't take the ritualist option from the Light it seems like a good idea to take it here, that at least one of our team know the rituals to interact with Waystones. Also, hopefully if it become necessary we can recruit Culloch later.

I just finished making an experimental Kadoh statblock. I had a lot of fun making it, mostly because it got me thinking about an Eonir army:
MWSBSSTWIALd
586443849
Troop Type: Infantry (Special Character)

Magic: Kadoh is a Level 2 Wizard. He does not generate spells in the normal way, instead, he automatically knows the Signature Spells of the eight basic Battle Magic Lores.

Special Rules: Always Strikes First, Blessing of Asuryan, Cityborn, Stubborn

Blessing of Asuryan: All of Kadoh's attacks count as Magical. Kadoh's Ward save is improved by +1, increasing it to a 5+ Ward save, and he gets to reroll Ward save rolls of a 1.

Cityborn: Rolls 3D6 for panic tests, discarding the highest number. Doesn't take Panic tests when units with the Forestborn special rule break, flee or are wiped out.

Champion of Laurelorn: Kadoh must always issue and accept challenges if he is able. If Kadoh is in a challenge, then he rerolls all failed To Hit and To Wound rolls. In addition, his Ward Save improves by +1.

Master of Weapons: Kadoh is the premier athlete in Laurelorn, the Champion of the Festival of Games. As a result, he is a master of nearly every weapon and fighting style known to exist, at least by the standards of your average imperial. Kadoh is equipped with a wide variety of weaponry and he can choose to change his loadout at the start of each Close Combat phase. He has special rules pertaining to some of these weapons. The options are as follows:

Hand weapon and shield: 5+ Parry save instead of a 6+ Parry save, armor save is 1 point higher as usual.

Two hand weapons: 2 Extra Attacks instead of 1 extra attack.

Great Weapon: Always Strikes First cancels Always Strikes Last (this is a normal rule I'm just clarifying this for those not familiar with rule intricacies)

Spear and Shield: Gains Armor Piercing special rule and has a 6+ Parry Save (normally not possible with a Spear and Shield).

Halberd: Attacks with Kadoh's Halberd cannot be Parried.

Longbow: Can only be used for Shooting Attacks and follows all the normal rules except for the following. Kadoh always has the Quick to Fire special rule and does not suffer penalties for Stand and Shoot or shooting at long range.

Magic Items:

Grey Lord Armor: Armor made by the Grey Lords. 4+ Armor save and a 6+ Ward Save.
To those experienced with Warhammer, you will notice that I didn't really make him a Wood Elf (No Blessing of the Ancients or Forest Stalker) or a High Elf (No Martial Prowess and obviously no Valor of Ages). I wanted to make the Eonir distinct, so I made a bunch of original custom rules from what we've gotten from the quest and started thinking about how to flavor a different type of Wood Elf.

I'm still finetuning a lot of this stuff, and it looks wonky because I don't have a playerbase to playtest this. It's not like I'm planning to make this a viable build for the tabletop, I'm just doing this for fun and because Boney inspired me to achieve a level of creativity that I've never thought I could have.

As ever, this is purely for fun and largely speculation. Don't take this too seriously.
