Mathilde claims her shadow is no more dangerous than normal shadows.
Mathilde's shadow has been known to rip apart skaven beastmen when the mood takes it.
Question arises, is Mathilde bullshitting, or is there something about regular shadows the rest of us don't know. :thonk:
Don't be silly.

My shadow is perfectly normal and also very pretty, strong and all around admirable.

No one is being coerced, do not question.

If you aren't Mathilde's enemy (and Eike isn't) then her shadow is no more dangerous to you than a regular one. All true.

Mathilde can make even normal shadows that deadly.
her shadow does not stand out in terms of deadliness.

Does Mathilde know any healing magics? I don't remember.
She does not know any healing magic, and ulgu has no healing spells.
But she has magical items that can heal.

Seed of Regrowth: An enchanted seed lying dormant in Mathilde's palm, this is capable of healing wounds up to and including death.
"It will trigger automatically should you be slain, or can be triggered with a mnemonic. A second mnemonic will use it to heal anyone you hold your palm to. It can hold four activations of power; to recharge, allow it to sprout in soil for three to eight hours per activation, depending on the richness of the soil - I recommend sleeping outdoors for this purpose. Alternately, when time is of the essence, hold your palm to an incapacitated or bound enemy and allow the roots to feed upon them. This will recharge a single activation. In a pinch, corpses can be used, albeit at a tenth of the effectiveness."
Candle of Cleansing Radiance: Enchanted with Boon of Hysh. Cures disease, purges poison, and heals injuries over a few minutes. Can be recharged by light, meditation, or prayer.

Otherwise, the thread would always vote to heal and resurrect any random guy that might need it.

My concern was that the thread would get bogged down in ethically fraught debates about the value of an unnamed character's life versus the danger of running out of charges when Mathilde or a named character needs healing. It's a debate that would need to be relitigated every time because the perceived likelihood of future danger would be different every time. If caution won and turned out to be unnecessary, then 'we could have saved those people' would be an uncomfortable source of thread friction. If saving unnamed characters won and then Mathilde or a major character died for lack of charges, there would be acrimony aplenty. The best case scenario would be a whole lot of tedium for zero effect on the story, so I decided not to leave it up to the thread.

And for the record, neither the seed nor the candle can heal someone from being converted into a homogeneous paste.

"In today's lesson on unusual undead: animated animal skins, skittling served fingers, and perambulating person-pastes. Anybody who forgot their sick bag should leave the classroom now."

theoretically, someone out there might have a relationship with shadow magic that lets them heal, in an illusion the wounds away so hard they never existed or something.

but if that person is/was around, mathy is not them, has not met them, and they didn't codify any spells of the type.

That sounds like "needs a Storm of Magic" level stuff regardless of your personal connection to the Winds.
