I like the idea of getting the drop on the enemy so I'm going for this choice. However if possible I'll be voting to travel back via the rooftops to both get back quicker and potentially luring out more Youma for us to crush before they cause more trouble.
I like Kagome and Inuyasha, and two-three (plus cat) does not an army make. Also, element of surprise, and time to potentially strategize how everyone fights. Or more likely just chatting.
In part because I still don't feel like I have a good enough grasp on Inuyasha and Kagome's personalities...
But more because I didn't really think about what the winning vote would result in-
A train ride.
At which point you would then get to the Zoo and there would be a vote about how you plan on approaching the Youma and the Hostages.
I can either write the update, which will be like 600-ish words, or I can just throw out what the vote options would be, and combine the snippet of you all arriving with the fight that will occur after that.
You could always write a short update, give us our new prompts, and then add the short update to the more fleshed out one after we vote on the options.
Treat the short one more like a temporary teaser and remove it from permanent threadmarks when the next one is out

You can can use the train ride as a way for the characters to talk to each other.
Usagi told them about the Dark Kingdom, but what is Kagome and Inuyasha's thing?
What are their current abilities.
Etc, etc.
Or roll for other characters to get involved since there's so much crossover stuff going on.
Oh, you can have a scene of Mamoru teasing Usagi, though he'd have to be skiping class to be there.

This sounds like a great idea. There needs to be proper character interactions and downtime instead of only covering the big events. Of course take as much time as you need to write it. I much prefer quality over speed in what I read.
Yeah, taking some time to nail the characterization sounds like a good thing.
Is there anyone who's actually watched/read Inuyasha who'd care to ramble a bit about their respective personalities? Because over and above what @Lunaryon might want to nail down, I am still getting a grip on them. Especially Kagome.

I remember their being a love triangle between Inyasha, Kogome, and Kogome's past life(who was ripped out of Kagome's soul and resurected in a fake body?)
Jeez, it's been so long since I watched the anime that all I can really remember clearly is that Kagome was slightly tsundere for Inuyasha and that Inuyasha was rude and abrasive quite a bit but would always charge headlong into danger for Kagome.
[X][Ueno] Train
- Traveling by Train will definitely take longer, Usagi reasons, but Ami points out that given that the Youma have already been being attacked by Inuyasha, and he goes by roof, then they'll be looking for that, which means that taking the train will better allow them to surprise the demons.
-[X] Revert to Normal
-- Turning back to Normal will make your group stand out a little less, but if something goes down, then you'll have to transform again
-- Will reveal your identity to Kagome and Inuyasha
From there, the two quickly move to the front of the school, passing over the gate and onto the sidewalk by the street. It is less than a minute before Sailor Mercury drops down next to them. "We're all good." Ami says, "Now, how are we planning on getting to the Zoo?"
Sailor Moon glances back towards the school for a moment, before looking to the three standing before her, and then to the skyline. "Taking to the rooftops would definitely be faster, but the Youma are going to be expecting that, and... given how the Dark Kingdom seems to enjoy using mind controlled humans..." She shakes her head. "We can't take the rooftops, which means that we're going to need to take the trains."
The white haired demon bristles a little, "You want to waste time?" The demon asks, even as Sailor Moon starts to walk down the street towards the train station.
"No, but I don't know you." The Senshi says plainly, a statement that draws a quick snort from the red robed boy. "I don't know how you fight, and I don't know if I can trust you to handle whatever civilians may have been taken control of."
After a few moments, the group finds themselves arriving outside of the train station. Unlike the rather empty streets, people are constantly coming and going from the building. "Do you have any idea on how to get through there without creating a scene?" Kagome asks, to which Usagi looks over to Ami.
The genius girl seems to know exactly what her friend is thinking, and with a sigh she nods. There is a shimmer of blue, and Sailor Mercury is gone, replaced with the far more regular looking Ami Mizuno. "Best way to avoid a scene is to avoid doing anything that would cause a scene." Ami says, even as Sailor Moon releases her own transformation returning to the form of Usagi.
"Well that's great and all, but I ain't being stuffed into one of those damn metal boxes." Inuyasha growls, getting a soft eye roll from Kagome.
"Just ride on top. You'd prefer the open air up there, and it's cheaper that way." Kagome says, patting him on the head. The boy gives a half-hearted swipe, but there isn't any heat to it.
"I'm..." Usagi's eyes trail over to the demon for a moment, before she presses on. "I'm Usagi. This is Ami. We'll be in your care." She says with a bow.
Getting onto the train is a simple enough matter, even if there are a few eyes that seem to trail after your group as they get on the train.
"So..." Ami says, as there is a soft thump and Kagome seems to just slightly relax. "We've told you about the Dark Kingdom, and what we are fighting... What's your story?"
"Well, that's a little complicated." Kagome says with a laugh, glancing back and forth to see if there is anyone sitting close enough to overhear the three. "I'm a time traveler." She says simply, causing Usagi to boggle at the girl. "I live up at the Higurashi shrine. A little over two months ago, a demon came out of the well on our property, searching for a magical artifact called the Shikon Jewel." Kagome starts to explain. "It ended up dragging me into the well, and out the other side, which is in the fifteen hundreds."
"Woah, that must have been so scary!" Usagi says, eyes practically sparkling as she looks to her upperclassman.
"It was, and if it wasn't for Inuyasha, then I would have died." Kagome admits.
"Why did the demon come to you looking for this jewel?" Ami asks, looking a little confused.
"She was able to sense it." Kagome answers, before continuing, "I know this sounds a little crazy these days, but my past life was a Miko known as Kikyo," Both Ami and Usagi glance at each other when Kagome says that. "Who was given the jewel to purify it. That... Didn't happen, and so she took the jewel to her death."
"Well, we can definitely understand at least part of that." Ami agrees, before Usagi picks up from there.
"We're still... learning all the specifics, but our Senshi forms are a magic passed down to us from our own past lives. Powerful Warriors who were supposed to have protected humanity long, long ago."
"The Dark Kingdom were the enemies of our past lives, and it is because they have returned that we have awoken to these powers." Ami agrees.
"And you said that you've been doing this for just under a month?" The girl asks, to which Usagi nods, but Ami shakes her head.
"I've been doing this for a month, but I only found out Ami was a Senshi about a week ago now." Usagi explains.
"That must be difficult for you, having to fight against those monsters all alone. Back in the Feudal Era, Inuyasha and I are just one part of a larger team."
Kagome starts to talk about the different people she knows in the distant past - Her past life's younger sister, a powerful Miko in her own right, and one who has been teaching Kagome more about what it means to be a Miko. A lecherous monk with a cursed arm that can consume anything before it. The young Kitsune kit who is traveling with them in order to get revenge for the murder of his parents, and most recently the last survivor of the demon hunting clan that created the Shikon Jewel.
"You've mentioned this jewel a few times," Usagi starts to ask, "But you've never said why it is so important."
Kagome blinks, a slightly surprised look on her face, before she chuckles shaking her head. "Sorry, I guess I'm just used to everyone I talk with knowing about it." She admits. "Supposedly, the Shikon Jewel can grant any wish." Usagi's eyes light up at that, and Kagome starts to sigh, a sound which turns to a laugh when she hears what Usagi whisper.
"All the candy I could eat..."
"However," Kagome pushes on, eyes locked on Usagi, "For all that good that the Shikon Jewel is said to be capable of... I've never seen it cause anything other than suffering and heartache. And even the smallest shard of the jewel can empower even the weakest of Youkai to being a major threat."
Laughing nervously, Usagi looks nervously away from Kagome, rubbing at the back of her head. Ami snorts, and the tension is broken, allowing the conversation to slowly start to turn to lighter, less serious subjects as the train continues to chug along towards Ueno.
However it doesn't take much longer at all before the train finally arrives at the girls' stop, which is only a few blocks away from the Ueno zoo.
Stepping out of the train station, they find Inuyasha standing there, a slight frown on his face. "So are we doing this or what?"
"The zoo is, what?" Usagi glances over towards Ami, as she asks her question. "Three blocks from here?"
The blue haired girl nods, "What are you thinking?" Ami asks, causing another nervous laugh from the girl.
"I was actually going to ask what you think would be a good idea." Usagi admits, causing Ami to take on a thoughtful look.
"Well- I think we should just get in there and smash these stupid demons faces in." Inuyasha growls out.
"That's one idea, yes." Ami agrees, before looking at Kagome and Inuyasha. "I had another idea as well. You two basically do what you do." Inuyasha grins when he hears Ami say that, "While Usagi and I sneak in during the chaos and get everyone out of the zoo, then we'll hit them from behind." Ami says, turning to Usagi. "Which one sounds better to you?"
[ ][Ueno] Attack Straight On
[ ][Ueno] Split up and Flank
I feel we are missing something.
We don't know if Youma are currently attacking or the current state of the place.
Recoignance should be a priority before attacking.
Honestly, it is a bit worrying we are charging in with almost no info. And honestly, going in with the others might be better if they try and use mind controlled humans as a distraction...
On the other hand, sneaking in, we could screw with other things, like potential hostages or worse...
I was under the impression this is a time sensitive problem. There may simply be not enough time for reconnaissance without risking something we normally wouldn't.
