Look, I'm not saying this vindicates my long-running crackpot conspiracy theory that Minori is an alternate timeline Madoka, but... ...that obviously isn't the case by virtue of this update being an April Fools joke.
"Under more favorable circumstances, I might read a wish from the silence of your mind. But we exist in such troubled times, and you have quite the vigorous imagination."
"I do? Uh… thanks!" She's been told that before, but never by a mind reader.
"However, I can still grant your wish, if you can articulate it clearly."
"Oh. Well. Um." She can think of so many things!
She thinks. She thinks furiously, of a thousand things, but at last…
"Oh, I've got it! I wish-"
A terrible silence and chill wash over the summer night, stifling Hikaru Hoshina's voice. The stars are snuffed out in the heavens, plunging everything into fearful darkness. The wind hisses and a sober, quiet woman's voice speaks softly as the final distillation of a million voices' shrieking outrage at-
A sudden flash of violet light, about a meter across, streaks across the grassy hillside, utterly enveloping the creature and tearing its form particle from particle. Nothing remains. The stars come back. The sounds of the night do too, though they seem… intimidated. Hikaru doesn't blame them if they are.
As the sense-numbing echoes of whatever that was subside, Hikaru can force herself to look at where the blast of power came from.
The woman is tall and dark-haired and barely visible as more than a stately silhouette except that the white of her singlet gleams, shouting 'Sailor Senshi!'
This does not prevent Hikaru, quite understandably, from screaming. From collapsing, cowering, as though she could hide from that, from the shock of what just happened.
"AAAAAAH!"
The Sailor Senshi flinches, then, approaching. She makes a gesture with her hand and a soft glimmering light spreads, and now Hikaru can see the guilt spreading across her face. She says something. Her words are entrancingly beautiful and totally incomprehensible.
「Little one, this was a monster in the guise of a fair-seeming thing. Had I stayed my hand longer, many would have suffered terribly, yourself first and worst among them…"」 Hikaru has no idea what the Sailor Senshi is saying, and after a moment that fact becomes clear to the woman as well.「"You… don't speak a word of Heavenly Moon-Voice? Right. Of course you don't.」
At least the very scary Senshi is talking, not just… disintegrating Hikaru.
Hikaru just stares up at the woman, who carries a long pale staff topped by a great dark jewel framed in heart-shaped curves. She shivers. What… why did she do that?
"Heyyyy!"
Hikaru's head whips around, and so she does not see the tall Senshi's response when a girl, a little girl obviously also dressed as a Sailor Senshi, as though in little-child copies of her mother's clothes, waves. Waves one-handed, because her other hand carries a copy of the same staff the frightening Senshi carries, one far too big for her.
Then Hikaru looks back to the woman who just destroyed the cute, silky, admittedly uncanny, alien creature. The tall woman looks at the girl with a strange expression. Hikaru can almost imagine the two Senshi as mother and child. Though it's… it's hard to concentrate on the details of either of their faces, let alone both at once.
The woman speaks first.「Kóre Ploúton, of the royal guard of- of my truelove, the Guardian of Humanity Selene.」
And the little girl bows solemnly. 「Your successor of the line, nameless in number. We have met again someday.」
The woman-Senshi looks down at the girl-Senshi, curious. 「You've been trained?」
The girl shrugs.「In the protocols. Only the mysteries my teacher called important and suitable, and few of the powers. I'm still little.」
「So you know what just happened here?」
The girl nods.「You're here for one of the parasites.」
「You know why this just happened here?"」
Hikaru watches the rapid fire conversation happening in front of her, her head snapping back and forth as she keeps watching whoever speaks. The words themselves mean nothing to her, but there is a rhythm to them, a cadence. Something… Not familiar, but not unfamiliar. The cadence reminds her somewhat of the few times that she's heard her father speak German.
「...Only just enough. I have to ask, though. Why did you wait for the maiden to almost make the wish?」
"..." The tall woman sags, but the girl's tone remains gentle and trusting.
「I know there must have been a reason.」
「...Yes. Because this was the first of the escape attempts like this. I don't yet know if he arrived first, or last, or somewhere in between, but he left first, and the more power he drew with him to get ready to grant a wish, the fewer others like him there can be, and the easier the rest will be to track down.」
「That was close. And scary.」
「I know.」
「Well, you're way better at this than I am, so I'm not going to tell you what you can and can't do. Good luck!」
The tall woman smiles wearily.「Thank you. That was only one of the escapees, but I know their greatest possible number, and I can trace their spoor. I won't have stopped until I track down the last of their race and bring my queen its head, this I promise you, child.」
"..."
「A silent answer. You do know the protocols. I've already realized that this won't be the Final War, as my queen hopes, of course.」 The tall woman shakes her head sadly. 「"But whatever the future holds for the age she hopes to build… we can at least make sure these horrible things don't get to exist in it.」
「For your labors- all of them- I thank you, Forebear.」
And the solemn masks crack a little. The tall woman smiles slightly.「 I hadn't really expected to hear that from someone else's lips for a long time.
The little girl shrugs, a sly smile on her face and a laugh in her voice. 「Hey, you know how it is. Stuff's surprising, right? 」
「Right. So, you're planning to explain to the maiden with the telescope?」
「Well somebody's got to, and I don't think you're going to clear things up in High Lunar or Elysian. Besides, who do you think gave me a chores ticket to handle this mission tonight?」
「Wait… me?」
"..."
「Oh. Right. Well, I suppose some things never change.」
「I sure hope not!」 The little girl waves, and the tall woman vanishes in a swirl of mirror-like distortions that smooth away into tracelessness.
Hikaru stares for a long time at where that happened, before the little girl Senshi coughs and gets her attention.
Then she bows, for all the world like this was elementary school. The improbably big staff wobbles.
"Hey there! Sorry about all that, I'm Sailor Pluto, may I ask your name?"
Sailor Pluto nods, an embarrassed look on her face as she catches her staff in the crook of her arm while scratching at the back of her neck. "It's okay. She can be really scary when she wants to, but she's actually really nice."
Sailor Pluto - It takes a moment for that name to really settle into Hikaru's mind. She had been distracted by all of this, but if this is Sailor Pluto, then that means that she was right. "That… wait, if you're Sailor Pluto, does that mean that she was Sailor Saturn?"
Sailor Pluto waggles one hand as she adjusts her grip on her staff. "Uh… not… exactly. It's complicated. But that's not important right now. You're probably wondering why she did that."
"...I was afraid to ask."
The girl takes a deep breath. "...Yeah. Well, can I tell you a story? I promise it explains the important parts."
"...Explanation, uh, sounds good right now…" Hikaru trails off weakly.
The girl takes another deep breath. "So… Once upon a time, a long, long, long time ago, long enough ago that almost everyone has forgotten about it, there was a wonderful kingdom called the Celestial Dominion, which spread everywhere the sun's light touched. So there were people living on all the planets and the moons of the solar system. That… disappeared. But that's a story for another day - because what you saw had to do with something that happened even longer ago, back at the start of the Dominion. This story is about aliens from a far away place is space - Bad aliens who were called 'Parasites' by their enemies.
"Their enemies?"
The little Senshi nods sharply, "Every living thing that knew about them, my teacher said."
"...Why? What did they do?"
"They were really strong, physically with spaceships and turning stars into rocket engines and stuff, and also with what we call magic. They used their magic to make… contracts. They'd trick people into giving them their souls, and then trap them in magic jewels. But the people would think they'd gotten a good deal because they'd get powers and wishes. The trick was that once the parasites had someone's soul, they could mess with their choices and lie to them and manipulate them. And it was… bad. Bad things would happen to people, and they'd go crazy and turn into monsters. But the parasites got power, both from the monsters and from the people they'd made deals with. It was really bad; I think my teacher left out some of the worst and it was still really bad.
Hikaru stops. She's a flighty girl sometimes, a silly girl, a girl with her head in the stars, but she's not stupid.
"...Wait. Do you mean that, the fluffy thing, was one of those 'parasites?' He looked so harmless!"
"My teacher said that's part of how they getcha." Sailor Pluto shrugs.
"That little thing was trying to steal my soul?"
"Or… buy it, I guess. The thing is, remember what I said about them being the enemies of every living thing that knew about them?"
"...I can see why!" The thought of what that… thing... really was is starting to get to Hikaru, and it's making her angry! And scared. Because she was really close to making a wish.
"Well, the Empress of the Celestial Dominion knew about them. So she started trying to work out what it would take to make them stop. At first she thought she'd need a magical wish of her own, but then she decided to go with hard work, guts, angry shouting, and about eleventy zillion things that go kaboom. So she took her Sailor Senshi- this was thousands and thousands of years ago, so uh, not the same people. And also a lot of other people and things and stuff, I don't really know. I think she invented wave motion engines or something like that."
"...Wait, do you mean actual wave motion engines like from Space Battleship Yamato?"
"I… think so. Teacher says that the ones in Yamato were the smaller ones. Anyways, the Empress took just about everything but the Kitchen sink, then filled the sink up with dynamite and left it as a boobytrap for the parasites too, and so there was a really big war. My teacher didn't tell me everything, but she said that in the end the war was hard, but not as hard as they expected. Because the parasites don't actually have souls of their own and didn't understand… sympathy, she said. There's probably a story there but I don't know it, sorry."
"That's okay." Hikaru realizes that even if the little girl is a Sailor Senshi, she's also a little girl doing her best. "So you said the Empress won her war? What happened?"
"Well, uh… can you promise to keep a secret?"
"Sure."
"Some of the parasites tried to escape into space, because they had lots of spaceships. But that didn't work because of sympathy. Also a magic sword for some reason. Others tried to run away by building time machines. Some ran into the past, trying to find a time before the Celestial Dominion and destroy it before it could even exist, and, well, the Celestial Dominion existed, so I guess that didn't work out for them. Others ran into the future, to after the Celestial Dominion, so they could put things back together by… well, by finding someone to make a wish and gaining the energy to start over."
"By finding… me." Hikaru can't help it, she starts to shake.
"Yeah, but the Empress wasn't about to let that happen, so, uh, she kind of built a time machine, you might say, and sent one of her Sailor Senshi through to find all the parasites that escaped into the future and kill them all."
"...And that Sailor Senshi, the other one I just saw… was the one doing that?"
"Uh, yeah. She's not a bad person, I promise, I talked to her, remember? That thing just really had it coming."
"...Wow. Um. Is there… Sailor Pluto?"
"Yeah?"
"Is there any way to write a thank-you note to the Empress of the Celestial Dominion?"
"...Maybe. I'm not promising delivery, but… actually, maybe. I tell you what, mail it to the Crystal Millennium and I'll see what I can do."
"...Right. Okay then." Deep calming breaths. Deep calming breaths. The scary thing didn't happen. "Well, if I ever see any cute fuzzy things offering magical powers…"
Sailor Pluto waves her arms. "Hey, whoa whoa whoa! Let's not overreact! There are lots of cute fuzzy things that offer real magical powers with no soul stealing and no creepy alien hive minds!"
"But… but… what are the odds of that happening, after this happened?"
"Honestly, higher than you think. All but one of the Pretty Cure were given their magical powers by cute fluffy things that didn't steal any of their souls. And the one who didn't get her powers from a cute fuzzy thing was given her powers by a princess, and has a cute floofy thing helping to guide her. But I know it's hard to trust that, so I'll tell you a secret if you promise not to tell anyone." Little Sailor Pluto pulls a notecard from- somewhere- and looks at it. "You promise?"
"...I promise."
The Sailor Senshi leans in close, one hand cupped around her mouth to make sure that no one else could hear. "Well, two things really, Real magic power granting creatures have little verbal noises that they can't help but say - Like always ending their sentences with -mipo or -koko. But much more importantly, she won't come to you until you call. And you have to do it the right way, or they won't be able to hear you. I can't say any more than that…"
"...You're serious."
"I really, really am. You'll have your first meeting face to face, and you'll know you're not dealing with a parasite, at least. Or so I'm told, what with them being extinct and all."
Hikaru is left with so many questions - and before she has a chance to ask anything more, she hears a whistle. Standing a ways down the hill is a woman dressed in a red chinese shirt and black slacks. Her arms are covered in what looks like golden scales, and in the center of her forehead there is a circle with a dot in the middle that blazes as bright as the sun.
"Hey, Plu! Remember what your teacher said, there are a lot of things that you can't explain yet. And we've got to get a move on, that power stealing idiot is going to try and stop Mirai and Liko from meeting, and if we aren't careful he'll draw… her attention."
"Right. Right…" The Sailor Senshi says, before she turns back to Hikaru. "Sorry to cut everything short, but the job of a Senshi is never done. See you later!"
The Senshi cheerfully hurries over to the taller woman, who just shakes her head, chuckling. Sailor Pluto reaches out, grabbing hold of one of the woman's sleeves, and the two vanish in a swirl of mirror-like distortions that smooth away into tracelessness.
Hikaru sits there for a long moment, trying to wrap her head around all of what happened… It all seems crazy, and she has no idea how she would ever explain what happened to anyone else… Really, the only thing that she can do is put the most of it out of her head - at least for right now - but to keep what Pluto said about magical creatures in mind for the future.
I'd say more like 'they tried to pit people against each other, not realizing that even unrelated people can find the suffering of others worth relieving.'
Well I was very wrong with the previous one and it wasn't a total goof. Though still the Incubators won't be interfering with things at the very least.
... but someone else is trying to mess up the witchy precure season via time travel? Does anyone have a clue about that? Though possible future Ranma and only sorta future Pluto probably have it under control.

Looks like Ranma got recruited/press-ganged by Pluto at some point.
And a glowing golden circle with a dot in the center on Ranma's forehead? What, did Sol Invictus drop by to fulfill a favor to Serenity and grant her/him an Exaltation of the Eclipse Cast?

Planetary crests tend to show up on the brows of people with strong magical connections to planets/moons, even if they aren't a Senshi. I know that they showed up on all of Usagi's family, including her Dad and Shingo, at one point. I think it was when we were telling them that Usagi is Sailor Moon and she accidentally flooded the house with Mana and Mana-doped Kenji. Ranma having a symbol of Sol just means that they have strong magical ties to the Sun, and for it to be visible at that moment means they were using a considerable amount of magic to make it manifest.

The main villain of Maho Girls Mirai Days is a mage who got his hands on some of Deusmast's power, and has gained the ability to manipulate and travel through time as part of his plan to basically relive his childhood with his mother over and over again.
I know what the symbol means. I was attempting to make a joke about it since in stories where Ranma becomes a 'Sailor whatever', the authors often have her becoming Sailor Sun.

I could totally see future Ranma being strong enough to make a planetary crest show up. He's already really strong, and he would definitely be doing stuff like fighting the many magical girl villains. Plus he could probably get even stronger from learning magic, and probably more specifically magical martial arts.
Technically speaking, along with being an interlude that Simon and I threw together in less than 24 hours between the two parts, this is also a roundabout confirmation about some of the theories that people have put forwards about what Ranma's whole deal is.
She'll have to. Remember that without becoming a discount lich (Ivan would probably have words about the design/construction of the girls phylacterys) she would be dealing with a heart condition and bad eyesight (which she fixed at some point during her looping).

Madoka lichhood is in a weird place where it is both incredibly high quality, while simultaneously being spectacularly awful. The body and control is amazing. Basically indistinguishable from a regular living body except when that isn't useful, able to grow, no missing body parts, no dulling of sensations, and perfect control. The phylactary is spectacularly awful. It doesn't have very good range, is fragile, and has all the grief problems.

Fortunately, there shall soon be tried, tested, and WHO-approved magical healing solutions. From the Moon instead of a furry little devil thing that needs to be put in a blast furnace.
Also, y'know, you can totally live a happy life even so. And she'll be a lot happier not being stuck in a hellish timeloop!
