Unfortunately, the Rules agree with Veekie.

NHO, your post violates Rule 6: Acceptable Content, which specifically asks users to carefully consider the content they post about underage characters. The fanart you have chosen to share depicts Sailor Neptune with a large bust and her nipples very pointedly visible under her sailor suit. While I appreciate that you chose this piece to represent an older Sailor Neptune, your choice of art is very unfortunate and really has no indications of an "older" Neptune outside of big badonkers. It is a plain violation of SV's Rules.

As such, I have levied a standard 25 point Infraction against your post and deleted the original image.

Please think twice before sharing fanart of characters who are underage, even if they are no longer such in the immediate context of the story.

Alternately, since this quest is a mash-up of the various Sailor Moon works, it's possible that they can just...not exist? Since they're an anime-only creation.
I mean... that same argument could be exactly why they're here, if they are. If we're mashing all the SM continuities into one, why shouldn't they make an appearance? It's not like their inclusion creates a gaping plot hole, since to my understanding they're basically just a particularly dangerous miniboss squad who are only there narratively to kill off the Senshi, and are never really explored beyond that.

What I'm worried about is the DD girls not being restricted to 90s anime budget restrictions either, as well as the competence upgrades that comes with this quest.

Also, without budget issues, Beryl can just send every other youma that with in that scene after us, instead of just five.
All quite true, though I suspect a lot of the youma in her court are simply unequal to the task, not that this will stop her. Still, having allies along to help keep off the chaff while we engage enemy champions could be worth quite a bit.

You're quite right, but I'd rather plan for an enemy elite bodyguard detachment and find out they don't exist, than not plan for them and find out they do exist.

Whether the DD Girls specifically exist or not may be unclear, but the existence of some youma elite force/bodyguard that serves beryl directly is more than likely for a number of reasons. So we should definitely plan for that in general, but not overplan for the DD girls specific abilities, because it may just be someone else.

Suffice to say that I definitely want to take down some of the dark generals before storming Beryl's hideout; the only question is how many is enough.

Looking at that list? At least Kunzite since he is a "whole team" threat, and him and Beryl working together would be incredibly difficult for us to beat. If not impossible.

Problem is, he is likely one of the last Generals we will run into. Zoicite is supposed to be showing up in Operation Slumber Party we believe, and we have to consider that Nephrite usually uses his astrology offensively to find targets to attack, not to predict attacks he needs to defend from, so he is more likely to hit us before we find him.

The big question is whether the Power of Friendship is scalable. On the one hand, they might be individually outmatched against youma and get chewed up. On the other hand, they might form some kind of bizarre sparkly magical rainbow phalanx of sheer unstoppable wholesomeness.

Love this. SO Much.

Right, sorry for the sort of repost, but I just want to get this out there with actual sources so I can sleep without it bugging me.

Alright, now that I have access to my computer, let's re-examine this.

The day of the of the Contest that led to Jadeite receiving a certain malus was April 26. We know this because the audition that set up the trap was on Thursday:

This is further backed by these lines:

When Ikuko fell unconscious due to the tea it was :

And according to Luna:

So, this would mean at the earliest, the kettle was being used on April 30th... At least according to Luna.

But Luna wasn't at Usagi's for most of the 29th:

And the 28th (unless I'm mistaken) was when the the kettle was bought and left at Usagi's house... As well as when the leaks were first detected.

So, it's probably not likely the kettle's enchantment is empowered by Metalia, but it's not that far of a stretch either.

Alright, rip into this to your hearts' content. Good night.

Okay, that all happened closer together than I remember.

A few thoughts.

While the time scale works out now for Naru using the pot, it wouldn't work for Ikuko's usage, which was consistent and done throughout the school day. So it doesn't explain the spike in draining after school hours.

This timeline is tight, actually stretched too far I think. Wednesday the 29th is the day of the Temple attack. If memory serves me, we fought Jadeite at the Radio Tower that night, and that was when Shingo was taken to the hospital. He wasn't hospitalized on the 29th, because Ikuko is just starting to worry about his behavior. And since it was so late, it is likely that Ikuko didn't start brewing tea, technically, until the 30th. The Metallia drains seem to have been noticed and communitcated on the 28th, two days after the Caravan.

Additionally, the Curse Breaking Pot isn't a very powerful artifact. It was kind of cheap and it isn't very powerful. It being connected to a Solar System destroying spirit is a bit of a stretch in and of itself. There is no reason to think it is, and the timeline doesn't lend itself either.

Nah, they are too awesome a fight to not include. They are basically an anti-senshi squad.

I mean, I agree we don't HAVE to have them, but they are a great design and a great concept of a "Gate Guardian". I would fully expect them to be powered up, potentially explored more, and given a more diverse power set, but I really hope we get a chance to fight them and get a "good ending" by not losing anyone this time.

Umm, is this supposed to be a joke? Because we've been told that Sailor V has been fighting Kunzite, and Operation Slumber Party is supposed to be attacking his base. This is not new information, this is what Venus told Rei when she contacted her. That's one of the reasons we are bringing everyone, including the Queensguard, to fight him.

I thought we were being told that it was Zoicite? (I know this has been confused multiple times, so I apologize if I am just adding to that confusion)

Wait I think I remember that, but who the heck is Danburite? I thought the generals were Jadeite, Kunzite, Zoicite, & Nephrite? When did they get a new Crystal Gem?
Danburite was originally a guard of the Silver Millennium who has in love with Princess Venus, and was convinced to join the Dark Kingdom on the grounds of being given the chance to have the princess for his own.

Venus killed him, and he became a Youma, cursing her to never find Love. He then popped back up as a high ranking individual in the Dark Agency who nearly seduced Minako before revealing himself and trying to crush her spirit.

Venus was near certain that she killed him, only for him to show up in London.

The comparison of Senshi and Precures to Solars and Dragonblooded respectively writes itself.

Luna originally thought it was Zoicite when talking about V with Usagi, but later in the quest in the conversation between V and Rei, V specifically mentioned Kunzite and Danburite.

Got it.

This makes Slumber Party even more dangerous. We have the element of surprise and a lot of people, but if we are going by his usual depictions then Kunzite is powerful enough that we could end up with members of the team severely injured.

Not saying it is a guarantee, we are going to team up on him, and we are strong, but he's always been shown to be an equal to the team.

In regards to the Beryl energy leak thing, it might actually be indicative of something bad. We know there are youma who are....less than perfectly loyal. One of them might be stealing from the boss to fund their own scheme, and if they're willing to risk Beryl's wrath, then it has to be something big they're up to.

Sailor V has been fighting the Dark Kingdom in Britain, the leader of which was Danburite, and is now someone who looks like Danburite. We think that may be Kunzite, but it hasn't explicitly been said.

We do know that V doesn't think she's strong enough to attack the enemy base, but that it's possible with six additional senshi.

If it is Kunzite, he's someone who has taken all five inner senshi to beat, after they've faced three other dark generals to grow their power. He's not someone to take lightly.

Hmm, I doubt we'll be bringing Jadeite with us, but Mister Tuxedo would probably be glad to tag along (although we should avoid telling Usagi's parents about him being part of the slumber party) and would probably give us more of a chance to recruit Kunzite, or at least get him to surrender into Mister Tuxedo's custody.
…Endymion might need a larger place by the end of the Dark Kingdom, and a much larger snack budget if all the Shitennou end up in his custody.

Hi.

So, reveal time, I've been collaborating with @Lunaryon on parts of the Slumber Party episode for some time, actually. This is why I was able to roll out Foreshock quickly, because I've been involved in fleshing out the Spellblades behind the scenes.

Since current discussion has turned to these topics and in-character the scheduled jumping off date is within a couple of days, I think I can reveal some information Usagi would by now know in-character.

Sailor V has had a single combat encounter with one of the Shitennou. It's confirmed that the Shitennou in question is Kunzite.

Minako has described Kunzite's youma as "there are absolutely definitely more than five" and "they're pretty strong, for youma." She doesn't seem to have any qualms about taking them on one-on-one, and sounds pretty confident about trying to fight two at once.

Minako has described Kunzite himself as "really strong," "kind of scary," and "that guy almost blew my head off a few weeks ago." She was not winning that fight.

...

On the other hand, Minako fought Kunzite with no one other than "Miss Carroll," a Spellblade, present and they both lived, which may be a relevant data point.

Though, again, Usagi gathers that Minako wasn't winning that fight and that "Miss Carroll" did something to help the two of them disengage. Something about a "pea soup elemental," which sounds too delicious to be effective but whatever.

One day, at the PANPAKA Pan Bakery
Daisuke: So, ordering two boxes of chocolate cornets this time?
Jadeite: I pretty much have to. The little monster will go through a whole box in 3 days while I barely even have one-
Zoisite: Jadeite!?
Jadeite: ...Oh blast, of all the places-
Zoisite: W-What are you doing here? How are you out and about? Did those harpies put a tracker on you?
Daisuke: ...Zoey, you know Jay?
Jadeite: *look of shock, then amused grin* "Zoey," good to see you. How has everyone been holding up since I left?
Zoisite: Don't play coy with me, "Jay"! You have some explaining to do!
Jadeite: *turns to Daisuke* We used to work at the same company. My division handled... business consultations, helping little start-ups advance and expand their customer bases.
Zoisite: We... we thought you were-
Jadeite: Retired? Heavens, no. It's just that some of our clients ended up struggling, a competitor started muscling us out, and worst of all, one of my subordinates was actively trying to undermine me. One day, I just had enough, and decided to quit.
Zoisite: Quit? You can't just "quit"! Besides, you hate our "competitors" more than anyone I know.
Jadeite: Zoey, it's a dead-end job with no retirement plan, and our boss is a monster. If I had tried to tender a formal resignation, I doubt I would have lasted her chewing me out. At any rate, I didn't join our competitors. Turns out our old boss was back in town and offered me a position.
Zoisite: ...What old boss?
Jadeite: Our FIRST boss. The Prince of Business.
Zoisite: ...No, he's... he's gone. He's been gone forever.
Jadeite: I can assure you, he is indeed back. He's taking his new company in a different direction than I would have thought, but the hours are flexible and there's a good future in it.
Zoisite: ...You know you can't win against her. Nobody can.
Jadeite: *sigh* Well, just something to consider. Take care, Zoey. If you ever want to reconsider, I'm sure the Prince will find you soon enough.

Dinner at the Tsukino's - Part 2 of 3
All through the day, Ikuko Tsukino's attention it bound up by thoughts and worries that she doesn't know exactly how to put into words. She doesn't have the time to think over the dishes she cleans and the floors she sweeps. Perhaps to another this could have very well been a problem, because once upon a time, Ikuko was completely and totally hopeless when it came to any and all actions of the household.

She was the girl that burned noodles when she cooked and scratches in wood when she tried to sweep, but the years have done wonders beyond wonders for the blue haired woman's abilities. Where once she would have struggled to do even the slightest of chores, she is now just going through the motions, years of experience reminding her of each step that she needs to go through in order to complete her tasks.

It's strange, and honestly almost a little funny, but Ikuko is almost terrified of meeting her daughter's new friends. So much has changed of lately, and Ikuko doesn't... She doesn't...

What if her daughter's friends don't like her? That seems like it should be such a silly worry, but Ikuko loves her daughter, and she doesn't want to be any responsible for anything that might end up ruining the changes that have come over the girl. Now, of course, Ikuko knows that she doesn't have to worry about Naru, having known the girl for almost the whole of her life.

But all the rest of Usagi's new friends? Sure, she may have met Ami's mother, but that doesn't guarantee that the girl herself will like her. Then there are the total unknowns. Makoto is the girl who saved Usagi from a bully, but beyond that she doesn't know anything about the girl, and all she knows about the mysterious Rei that Naru and Usagi have mentioned before is that the girl lives on a shrine.

For a moment, Ikuko pauses as she wipes down the counters, a stray thought floating through her mind. One of Usagi's new friends lives on a shrine? Could she be a shrine maiden? Wait, if her friend is a shrine maiden, then is she going to think that Ikuko or Shingo are possessed? All at once a whole new slew of worries begin to bubble up from the depths of Ikuko's soul, worries about the fact that she has magic, and that her son has magic, and whether or not she needs to hide that from Usagi's friends. More and more these worries build up, and as the woman falls deeper and deeper into her own head, she loses her focus on the world around her. All the while a slow breeze begins to form, first little more than a tugging at her hair and her shirt, but as the worries deepen, the winds build in speed.

The worries whirl about Ikuko's head as the winds whip through the kitchen, rattling the knives and shaking the drawers. but Ikuko is too tied up in her own thoughts to even notice, until there is a sound. At first it is distant, but even so it is enough to finally get hold of Ikuko's attention.

"IKUKO!" Luna yells from the doorway to the Kitchen. "IKUKO! CALM DOWN!" It takes a second for the woman to realize the sounds are the words being yelled, and a moment more before she finally parses them. Blinking, the woman looks up, only to realize with a level of horror that her nearly perfectly clean kitchen has been turned into a mess of blow about chaos. "Oh thank the Moon," Luna says as she hurries into the kitchen, leaping up onto the counter. "You were really starting to pick up wind there." The cat says, looking about. "It's obvious that something is bothering you."

Now, the woman's first instinct is to deny, and her second instinct is to deflect...

But the fact of the matter is that her worries about her daughter's friends have completely made a mess of the kitchen, and hiding from her thoughts and feelings never gets anywhere. If only Kenji were here, he always knows the right words to say, the right way to approach the woman in order to draw out whatever worries she has.

"I..." Ikuko starts to say, before glancing around. "I've made a right mess of this all, haven't I?"

Of course, Luna doesn't answer, just leaving a flat stare at Ikuko. In a way it is almost funny, never in the woman's thirty three years of life has she found herself on the receiving end of a disappointed look from a cat. The look doesn't end, and finally after a moment of trying to hold out, Ikuko finally sighs. "I'm..." She doesn't want to say it out loud. Saying it out lout would make it real in a way that it just hasn't been up till now. "I'm scared."

It's clear that out of everything, that was not what Luna expected to hear, given the just baffled look at the cat gives her. "Scared? Of what?"

Ikuko closes down on herself, one arm reaching over and holding the other elbow, as the woman looks down and away. "I don't want Usagi's friends to not like me." She admits. For a long moment, the woman can't help but expect that there is going to be a laugh or something, and yet nothing of the sort happens. Before she has a chance to look back up, she hears the soft sound of Luna landing on the counter next to her.

"You don't have to worry about that." Luna says softly, yet firmly. "You've raised a amazing young lady Ikuko. One who does everything she can to help the people around her, who meets every challenge with a smile," Luna chuckles a little, "and one who keeps on surprising me with just how mature and intelligent, and most of all wise she can be. In between her bouts of eating candy and complaining about her homework."

Usagi may be doing a lot better in class, but that doesn't mean that she has stopped complaining about work. Really, the hilarious thing is the way that her complaints have completely flipped. No longer is she complaining about not understanding the work that she is supposed to be doing, but instead Usagi finds herself complaining that she already understands this, and why are we still doing the same thing.

Ikuko gives a faint smile as she hears one of her increasingly best friends chats about what a good girl her little Usagi is growing into. "And," Luna says after a moment, lightly bumping her head against Ikuko's. "Remember this too, all of Usagi's friends know about magic too. You don't have to worry about hiding it." Ikuko blinks at that, and Luna grins even wider. "I've actually really been looking forward to this, because Makoto can do the same kind of magic that Shingo does, so she might be able to help with..."

Well, Makoto might be able to help with the fact that Shingo is becoming more and more unruly. The young man picking up a lot of bad habits now that he has the ability to manipulate the weight of things around him. Thankfully he doesn't seem to have become a bully or anything of the like, but from what Ikuko and Luna have heard from the boy's teacher, he is becoming sullen and withdrawn from the rest of the class, being rude and acting like he is superior to them when he bothers to talk with them at all.

To be honest, Ikuko worries that the reason his temper is changing this way is because of the fact that he has magic, and none of his classmates have it. "I hope you are right, Luna." Ikuko says with a sigh, "I'm still just worried."

"Well, Usagi should be getting off soon, so why don't I go grab her, and we can spend the rest of the afternoon getting ready? Make sure the house is all up to spec." Luna says, and Ikuko laughs, nodding.

"Yeah. I'd like that."

All together the combined efforts of the four are more than enough to get the house looking cleaner than it has in months and months. Even better, the combined knowledge of Luna and Ikuko gives rise to a number of absolutely delicious dishes that more than once end up with Usagi getting kicked out of the kitchen when she tried to sneak a taste.

Shingo gets home before all the guests of the night arrive, and despite the fact that both his mother and sister have magic, the young boy simply gives them an unimpressed look, scoffing when Usagi suggests helping, before he retreats back up to his room.

Usagi looks to her mother, and Ikuko sighs, shaking her head. "Your father and I will talk with him later." Ikuko says solemnly, and after a moment, Usagi can't help but free a tiny chuckle.

Her mother simply raises an eyebrow, and that is the last straw, Usagi almost falls over from the sheer amount of laughter escaping from her. "So-sorry." Usagi mutters out once she catches her breath. "It's just... It's just that it used to be me that was getting those talks." Usagi says, "I can't count the number of times you said that to Shingo when I was the one about to get in trouble."

And as much as the tables have turned within the Tsukino household, even Ikuko can't stop the smile from starting to cross her face as she recalls the fact that yes, it used to be her daughter that was the problem child, not her son. Another hours passes before the doorbell rings, and Usagi pops up to her feet from where the three girls are relaxing. "I'll get it!"

Opening the door, Usagi is met with the expected sight of Ami standing there, a soft smile on the girl's face. "Good evening! Hello!" Usagi says cheerfully with a smile, before the girl blinks, her eyes trailing over from Ami to the girl's mother standing next to her.
What is Doctor Mizuno doing here? Usagi is entirely confused and flabbergasted, and without thinking, the girl does what comes naturally to her. Thankfully, what comes Naturally to Usagi is acting with ever improving grace and poise, even if the girl is still more than a little clumsy, so with a bow Usagi steps back. "Come in, come in." Usagi welcomes the two.

"Mom and Naru are in the Kitchen," Usagi says, quickly pointing down the hall. "Second door to the right."

"Thank you, Usagi." The beautiful woman says as she nods to Usagi, entering into the Tsukino household. The blonde girl leads the two blue haired girls to the kitchen, where Ikuko has started the final touches of the night's dinner.

"Hello there Mrs. Mizuno," Naru says, waving at the doctor. "My name is Naru, I'm a friend of Usagi." She explains.

"It's nice to meet you, Naru." The older woman says. Of course, hearing that is enough to make Ikuko turn away from the stove.

"Ah, Saeko, it's wonderful to see you again." Ikuko says, "Are you just dropping off Ami, or are you staying for dinner?"

The doctor simply raises an eyebrow, turning to look to her daughter. "Ami said that she had spoken with Usagi about it."

Then, all eyes turn to Usagi, and the girl goes red. "Uhhhh... Did you talk to me about that Today?" Usagi asks, looking more than a little embarrassed. "Cause I was so worried about tonight that I... don't... really remember anything about school today."

There is a moment of silence, before it is broken by the most unexpected of sources. All at once, Ami's mother snorts, shaking her head. "If it is no problem, I would love to stay for dinner." Saeko says, "Ami said that there was something important that she wanted to talk with me about, and that this would be the best place to do so."

Then, all at once it all makes sense. "Oh," Usagi says, "Yeah. That makes sense." Then, there is a beat, before the doorbell rings again. "Wait. Did I invite Rei's grandpa too?"

This time it is Ami who shakes her head. "Yes, Usagi. You did."

"...Oops?"

A bit concerned about Shingo going full edgelord and not in a fun Chuunibyou sort of way. But the rest of the update was touching in all sorts of ways.

MORE GUESTS!

I hope Shingo is just being a brat and it's not residual possession stuff.
Fitting he got gravity, as he is losing touch with the ground.
We should set up a play date with Jadeite's daughter!

Nah we do one better and send Shingo to Jadeite/Endymion as a new minion.

Should help temper his attitude a bit and give him something useful to do rather than practice magic and stew in his own smug sense of superiority.

Admittedly i doubt it'll last long when he finally notices just how much stronger Usagi and co are, i think part of the reason he's looking down on them is because they aren't using magic as much as possible or even practicing it where he can see so to him they're 'wasting' it.
