Why do I feel like we deserve to gain a point in Learning for defeating this one...?

A Youma that can only be defeated by test questions? How did they figure out Usagi's identity so quickly to capitalize on her one weakness (of many)!?

I'm suddenly reminded of when the Senshi were trying to trick the Dark Kingdom into thinking their group was falling apart by having the Senshi attack Sailor Moon, and Sailor Mercury's method of 'attack' was just reading out of a text book.

Okay, the Usagi scene is done... though I might go back and make a few edits in the morning.

2.1k and haven't even started the Ami bits.

Its 1am so I sleep now

It will be interesting to see how the fight goes in this continuity. In the first anime, Garoben used the brainwashed students as shields/hostages, along with trying to drain Ami's energy, not realizing that she was also a Sailor Senshi.

In this case, depending on where Garoben is, she may not have the opportunity to take Ami hostage. If those drained/brainwashed students awaken, though, Garoben will once again use them to hinder Sailor Moon.

Let us see. Sailor Moon already defeated Balm, the fortune-telling youma. Garoben will be defeated soon. Morga was the youma responsible for the energy-draining jewelry, the incident involving Naru.

Meanwhile, Furau is the youma responsible for the radio plot, working directly with Jadeite. Jadeite is the radio host of Midnight Zero, with a laughably uncreative alias of J-Dite. He could have at least invested some effort to make a proper false name. Furau was masquerading as the manager and mailed energy-draining flower brooches to the "lucky" listeners who had their letters read by "J-Dite".

Kigaan is the youma responsible for the bus disappearances of the ones who bought so-called good luck charms from Hikawa Shrine, yet another scheme by Jadeite, this time using the alias of Jed.

In this case, though, hm, it is odd. Garoben is one of Jadeite's underlings, yet transforming humans into youma was something specific to Zoisite and Kunzite.

It is not impossible, though it will not be precisely easy. As Nephrite demonstrated, it can be done, even though he was slain before the process could be completed. In this continuity, Naru may once more play a crucial role in freeing Nephrite from Beryl's grasp. Before that time, though, the Sailor Senshi must first deal with Jadeite, one way or another.

Well. Ubless i am remebering wrong we got the purify power way earlier then in canon? We just need to not throw planes ( as awesome as that is)

So the update is at 3.2k, and I'm about halfway through the Ami section.

However, I am heading out to vote now. And then I have work later, but I should have time to work on the update before work.

EDIT: Hey, and you know, At the end of this, you'll get the chance to make Ami a Councilor, so you know, there is still a chance of increasing your effective learning.

There is one nuance - the final "turn" of Jade occurred due to the fact that Zoicite and his henchmen took her hostage. Right before that, he planned to use Naru to get close to Sailor Moon.
It is clear that a different scenario will go here, but the possibility of Jade's transition is questionable ... and I hope that there will not be a sudden destruction of the traitor lords by Metalia by a blow from the sky. This is stupid.

God, don't remind me of that stupid scene.

I mean, I didn't like them making the Generals all fall for a Senshi to begin with, but killing them via Diablos Ex Machina was just extra bad.

If it was one, I could understand. All of them seemed like a plot contrivance.

Some of the stuff in the later parts of the series...

*Note to self, find a way to prevent brainwashing for the cast.*

We don't need additional Drama just throw in. Cosmic Horrors are enough as it is

Beauty and the Baka Part 5 - Enter Sailor Mercury
[ ][Usagi] People are in danger. Time to go Loud. Transform into Sailor Moon and kick the door in
These are people right in danger right now. Can Usagi... Can Sailor Moon really just leave these people in potential danger?

That was, without a sliver of a doubt, the stupidest question that could have ever been asked. To say that it isn't in Usagi's nature to ignore people in danger or in need is like saying that the ocean is damp, or that the sun is warm.

Such an answer is technically correct, but it misses the truth of the matter by such a degree that one can barely comprehend it.

In less flowery terms, that means that one moment Usagi sees a young man laying on the ground not moving, she sees an arm hanging limp past the cubicle shaped desks.

There is all but a single tick of the clock before a heeled boot slams into the wood of the door with such force that the hinges give way, knocking the door to the ground with an echoing BOOM!

Stepping through the door, Sailor Moon's eyes track across the room - There, there, there and there. Multiple people unconscious and unmoving. Thankfully, they do all seem to be breathing. However, the innocents trapped aren't the only ones in the room.

No... In the room there are two others.

The first is a tall, thin woman dressed in a green dress suit. Her angular face pinched in displeasure as she sneers down over the rims of her horn rimmed glasses at the young man sitting in front of her. In one hand, the woman holds a stack of papers out, brandishing them almost like some sort of weapon.

The young man on the other hand, is nearly the woman's opposite in every way. He leans back in his chair, balancing on only two legs, with the cockiest grin that Usagi has ever seen. He wears something that looks almost like a parody of a school uniform, the sleeves torn off at the shoulders.

Neither figure moves at first, almost daring the other to be the first to look at whatever the source of the bang is, before the woman's eyes snap over to Sailor Moon.

"You!" The woman snarls out, eyes widening. "Who... Are you? And what give you the right to break my school?"

"I am the Pretty Soldier who fights for Love and Justice! Sailor Moon!" Sailor Moon exclaims, as she crosses her arms. "I shall not allow you to prey upon the fears and desires of those studying to better themselves, so in the name of the moon, I'll punish you."

As they hear the girl's name, but the woman and the young man turn away from each other. There is a solid clack as the legs of the boy's chair fall to the ground.

"Sailor Moon, huh." The young man says, rolling his head from side to side and cracking his neck. "Garoban, isn't this the brat that the Boss told us to take care of if we get the chance?"

"Yes..." The woman drawls out, her scowl even stronger. "If you kill Sailor Moon, then you will have all the blessings of Queen Beryl upon you." The woman brings a hand up, taking hold of her glasses, and carefully setting them aside on the table between her and the boy. Then, her body begin to twist and warp, stretching and growing. Her skin darkens to red, even as her hair lifts up, and long fangs erupt from her mouth.

Before Sailor Moon has a chance to do anything, the woman strikes out!

But not at Sailor Moon, no! The demon spins, slamming a heavy hand into the young man, knocking him over and back. "If you kill the Bitch, then you'll be in charge of me. There isn't a chance in hell that is happening, Goro! You are nothing more than a human blessed with power! You have no right to act like you are better than me!"

However the attack seems to have done little to the young man, not even ruffling his clothes. Yet, as he starts to stand, his body too begins to warp and change, even as he start talking. "Nag, nag, nag. That's all that you are good for, you old biddy. Don't drain too much from the humans Goro," He says, as his limbs start to inflate, becoming inhumanly large against his still tiny torso "don't reveal your real form to the humans Goro, no Goro you can't eat that girl you liked when you were human, we can't afford to bring the heat. You have all this power, and you do nothing but lap away at the edges of mankind." The boy roars as his face begins to distort, stretching down into a vulpine maw filled to the brim with dozens of teeth.

"Jadeite says we keep a low profile." Garoban spits back, however, unlike the boy the red skinned woman seems to keep an eye on the Senshi.

"Jadeite can go suck on eggs!" Goro bellows, hammering his chest like a giant monkey. "I don't have to do what he says, with this power I AM UNSTOPPABLE!"

For a moment, Garoban looks between Goro and Sailor Moon, the demon uncertain how it should handle the situation, before one limb starts to melt like hot wax, drooping down as it forms into a massive bladed edge. The demon brings the blade up, before glancing over at Sailor Moon.

"Which fruit is considered to be inherently tied to the discovery of one of the fundamental forces of the universe?" Garoban snarls, throwing her other hand out at Usagi. From each finger, there is a deep purple glow, and a sheet of paper appears. Usagi is barely able to realize that the pages are some kind of... school worksheet, before they zoom forward.

SLIM FAILURE
Diving to the side, Usagi only barely manages to get out the way, even as the pages dig deep into the wall behind her.

"WHAT?" Usagi yells, so thrown off by the random question that she has completely lost any understanding of the situation at hand.

Usagi has never actually seen more than a single Youma at a time before, but she always imagined the that the things would be in harmony, working together like an army.

Yet here are two bickering and fighting. And also asking random science questions.

Goro charges forward, knocking over desks and throwing students to the side as he charges. However, Garoban is there, blocking his strike with her bladed arm. For a moment, the two seem to be evenly matched, before Garoban braces her sword arm, shoving Goro back again.

"Next question!" Garoban says, turning her attention to the girl again, who is only now managing to get back to her feet. "What scientific principle was theorized after an apple fell on a scientist's head?"
ROLL: 6+9=15

As Garoban asks the question, another set of shimmering worksheets appear in the air, firing towards Usagi.

Diving to one side, Usagi wracks her brain. She knows that she has had this question asked of her recently... "Gravity?" The girl offers, not even sure why she is answering the demon's question to begin with. However, her confusion over the question only grows as the pages suddenly disappear out of the air.

Did... Did answering the question correctly stop the demon from being able to attack her?

How does that make any sense?

"Correct. This time." The demon snarls, but Usagi is no longer on the back foot. Sailor Moon sprints around the room, coming up behind the charging demon, sliding herself into the path Goro has been charging, the path that is empty of desks, empty of chairs, and most importantly empty of innocents.

Usagi takes a deep breath, even as her magic starts to flow, and she feels the... limiter? on the speakers in her buns fall away. However, it seems that Garoban isn't done asking questions quite yet.

"What is the name of the mathematician who developed the theory of Gravity?"

NO OPPOSING ROLLS DUE TO OTHER COMBAT
Unfortunately for Garoban, Usagi knows the answer to this question. Also. Usagi is currently in the middle of charging a powerful sonic spell, which means that the girl doesn't have to abandon the spell to answer the question.

Instead - "ISAAC NEWTON!" Usagi bellows at the top of her lungs, the sound increased exponentially into a blast of power that blow both Goro and Garoban off of their feet, the two slamming into the wall at the front of the room.

"What... Was that?" Goro groans, as he pushes himself off of the older demon. "Pain... Why do I feel pain. Like this, I ssshould be unstoppable."

"Unstoppable... My ass." Garoban groans, the bladed limb shifting and uncoiling into a trio of tendrils, pushing the taller demon to its feet.
USAGI ROLL: 2 + 16 = 18
GORO ROLL: 6 + 10 = 16
GAROBAN ROLL: 8 + 10 = 18

The first thing that comes to Sailor Moon's mind now that she has knocked the two demons back and off of their feet for a moment - She needs to move the fight out of this room. She needs to get these demons away from the children before one of them comes up with the brilliant idea of trying to use one as a hostage, or some kind of snack.

Pushing forward, Sailor Moon closes the distance between her and Goro, dodging down and under his fist, before reaching up and driving both of her fist into his chest. The force is hard and heavy, blowing the demon off his feet again, into the air and out of the room.

But that was only one of the monsters. A heavy hit slams into her back, drawing a line of searing pain down one side. The girl starts to go to a knee, but an instinct reacts faster than the girl's mind can.

Hands drop to her side, not to the injury, but instead grabbing hold of the sharpened tendril that struck at her. Turning to look at Garoban, Usagi can't help but snarl. She yanks! Clearly, that wasn't what Garoban expected, because the demon doesn't have a chance to dig in her feet, instead being pulled from her feet. Usagi starts to twist, before pushing off and into the air. The demon passes underneath, close enough that Garoban and Sailor Moon's noses nearly touch, before the twist continues. Sailor Moon lets go of the tendril, and kicks out.

The other demon is through the door. Sailor Moon stumbles forward, hissing in pain... But... At the same time, she can feel... her magic doing something.

Finally, as Usagi wobbles through the door of the classroom, she is able to look down at the injury Garoban has given her.

Oh. That... That is a lot of blood. The wound starts just shy of a palm above her belly button, carving down and around her side all the way to the top of her thigh. Blood is seeping all the way to her knee.

This should be hurting a lot more than it does, shouldn't it?

Usagi doesn't know the answer to that, but she does know that she needs to finish this. Fast.
USAGI ROLL: 6 + 18 = 24
GORO ROLL: 8 + 10 = 18
GAROBAN ROLL: 2 + 10 = 12
An unsteady hand reaches up, touching against the tiara sitting on her forehead. The two demons are trying to untangle themselves again, giving Usagi the moment that she needs.

Taking a breath, Sailor Moon can feel that a lot of her magics are flowing to the point of her injury, but there is still enough floating free and in her control to do what she needs to do. Pulling the Tiara off her head, she holds her hand open, allowing the jeweled headpiece to float above her hand, before beginning to spin. Faster and faster and faster until it becomes a blur of shining golden light. "Moon," Usagi more whispers than anything else. "Tiara action."

Her toss is less a throw, and more a jagged push, but the spell works all the same. The tiara shoots forward, towards the two demons. At the last moment, Goro manages to drop to the ground, the action pulling Garoban who was also trying to dodge back into the line of fire.

The blast strikes the demon true. Garoban screams, she screams and screams before her body bursts into... Worksheet pages, that then come alight, burning away in black flames.

Garoban is dead.

Goro, however is not, instead stumbling to his feet, and sprinting away, down the hallways away from the Senshi straight into a wall of heavy white fog that fills the halls.

"You leave her alone!" The cat snarls, as it whirls towards the laughing monster, leaping up and scratching at it. However, all that happens is the monster backhands the cat, throwing it back towards Ami. The cat slowly struggles to its feet, before taking a moment to glance over to Ami. "You've got to get out of here. I'll keep them distracted." The cat says with a startlingly feminine voice.

For a moment, Ami doesn't know what she should do - Everything is happening so quickly, and the things that are happening don't make any sense to the girl. However, she doesn't have the luxury or the time to make a decision, instead the choice is made for her.

The four towering monsters... Youma, the cat called them, step through the doorway and into the hall. Coming that little bit closer, it becomes clear to Ami just how large these monsters are. All of them tower over the girl - the top of her head would barely reach the belly button of the shortest of the four.

The smallest of the four is... almost insect like - Its limbs are long and spindly, hands ending in six thin claws, four fingers and two thumbs. Its mouth is nearly overfull of pointed teeth, a few of which manage to stick out even when the beast's mouth is closed. Its eyes just to the sides, large and bulging out, each eye moving independent of the other. The Youma begins to laugh, one clawed hand coming to it's mouth. "I never did like that overconfident bitch." The youma declares, head tilting down to one side in order to allow an eye to look directly at her. "Always finishing her work so far ahead of me. How dare she look down on me like that, right boys?"

"Yeah..." The second agrees. If there is a single word to describe the second demon, it would be rotund. The Youma is nearly as all as it is wide, heavy layers of gray blubber making the demon almost look like a softball. In contrast, the arms that are as wide as the Ami is in total are not made of fat, but instead bulging muscle. Even the demon's fat chubby fingers seem to be pure rippling muscle. The creature has beady eyes, and a pair of boar like tusks sticking out of its mouth.

The Third demon could almost be described as some sort of unholy mixture of the first two Youma. Spindly thin legs under a torso like a barrel, and long smoothly curved arms whose fingers trail along the floor even as it stands straight. This is the demon that backhanded the cat earlier. This is the demon that speaks with Daisuke's voice, and now that Ami is getting a chance to look at the demon more, she can tell that yes, this demon has the same face as Daisuke, only writ in the blue skin that the demon has.

Then there is the final demon, a creature that looks like someone took a crocodile, a goat, and a man before blending their features together. Its skin is a cross-stitch of scales and fur, and it has three arms. Two on its left, and one on its right. One of the right arms in completely covered in fur, yet even so it is still bristling with muscles, and in ends in a hand - Three fingers and a thumb, each digit ending in a hard, blunt nail like the hoof of a goat.

The other right arm is thin and lanky, covered in scales. It hands in a hand with four fingers and two thumbs. Then there is the almost human left arm, only made monstrous by the random patches and fur and scale that cover it. The beast has the head of a goat, but the maw of an alligator, and most disturbingly of all, full luscious lips. "Kikikiki!" The beast-like demons laughs. "Now now boys," The demon says, its voice high pitched and squeaky. "No killing her." The other demons look to the beast, "Not the cat. I don't care what you do to the cat. But the giirrrrlll. If I have to assist Jadeite, then I am going to take a morsel back to Master Zoisite." One hand comes up, wiping the slobber from the creature's slavering lips.

It is enough to make Ami's skin crawl. "Run!" The cat repeats, but even as it stands there defiant, Ami can see that it is favoring one leg over the other. So Ami does run, just not in the direction that the Cat probably means. Instead, Ami darts forward, grabbing hold of the cat, before turning and trying to run away.

Then there is a sudden, mighty, echoing BOOM! that rings through the halls, a sound like something heavy had been knocked over with impressive force.

Ami takes advantage of the sound distracting the demons for a moment, breaking full out into a sprint in order to get away from the monsters. Unfortunately, the beasts are all much taller than the girl, and that means that they have much longer legs.

Ami barely makes it to the corner where the unfinished rooms of the building give way to the more complete part of the building before a hand reaches out, grabbing hold of the back of her shirt. Whichever demon has grabbed hold of her yanks back, pulling the girl off of her feet.

With a twirl, Ami is spun around and around and around as she is drawn back towards Daisuke. The former human's long lanky arms, wrapping around the girl and squeezing tight. "So... Kanten." Daisuke says, his face splitting into an inhumanly wide grin. "You said that we can't kill her."

"Correct." The beat, Kanten, says in his high pitched voice.

"Humans can live without their arms and legs, you know." Daisuke says, his tone almost entirely conversational.

"Oh, yes. I know." Kanten replies, and Ami realizes with building Horror what the demons are planning to do to her. She tries to push against the looping arm, hoping to shift enough to allow the cat to escape from where it is held pressed against her chest.

"I'm sorry." The cat says, "Things weren't supposed to go like this."

"It's..." Ami starts to whisper back, wincing in pain as Daisuke tightens the grip of his serpentine arm. "It's okay. I'll get you out of this." All around the girl and the cat, the demons start to come closer and closer, laughing and joking among themselves about the horrors that they are going to subject the girl too.

Luna look up at the girl, so willing to put herself into danger in order to protect someone she has only just met. And now, even when she is in danger, the girl's first instinct is to try and comfort Luna... Especially when the horrors that they may put the girl through would be far worse than anything the Demons would do to her.

The insectile youma steps forward, razor edged fingers trailing across Ami's face, up along the edge of her jaw before sliding closer and closer to her eyes. "Humans don't need eyes to live either, do they?" The Demon asks, "All you really need is a torso and the brain."

They wanted to take away Ami's eyes. The blue haired girl's eyes widen at that, horror and disgust and anger all boiling up from deep within her heart. They aren't the only thing boiling up from the depths of her soul either... There is something else. Ami doesn't know what it is, but some part of her knows without a doubt that this power will help her. Will protect her. Will give her the power to fight these monsters and protect the small life in her arms.

AMI ROLL: 9 + 18 =27
GREATER SUCCESS
All of a sudden, there is a bright blue light pouring from Ami's brow, and the both the Insectile Youma's hand, and Daisuke's arm begin to sizzle and burn.

The bug-like demon snatches his hand back with a shrill shriek, while Daisuke bodily throws the girl, retracting his arm and cradling it to his chest. "Wh-what? What are you doing? Stop it!"

Ami lands on her feet, sliding back away from the demon, and now that she is no longer held tight, Luna is able to see the shining sign of Mercury emblazoned on Ami' brow.

"You're...?" Luna asks, before she grins. "Well that makes things a lot easier for the both of us." Luna says as she jumps down from Ami's arms. Turning to the girl, "You're name is Ami, right?"

Ami nods, even as the beast-like demon wails for the other youma to do something!

"Then Ami, do you want the power to be able to fight these monsters, to stop them from endangering the innocents of Tokyo?"

"Yes." Ami's tone is firmer than steel, her eyes now locked on the cat before her.

"Then, Reborn Champion of the Planet Mercury, I bestow upon you this boon." Luna leaps into the air, flipping over, sparkling starlight pouring off of her. The light gathers, collecting tight to form into a pen.

The pen starts to drop from the air, and Ami's hand snaps out, grabbing hold of the thing. The light from her brow flares even brighter for a moment. "Now, Ami, all you hav-"

"MERCURY POWER! MAKE UP!"

Sailor Mercury opens her eyes, a frigid glare pointed at the demons before her. "The hopes and dreams that you have so cruelly taken..." She mutters, "I shall return them. Best prepare yourself, for in the name of Mercury, the Guardian of Knowledge shall judge your sins."

Luna had to admit... Ami made that sound a good deal more impressive than the declaration that Usagi gave to the demon that replaced Naru's mother.

Sailor Mercury brings her hands together, before snapping them out. "Sabão Spray!" The demons flinch back as a stream of heavy mist pours from the girl's hands.

It takes but a moment for the entire hall to be overflowing with thick, heavy mist.
AMI ROLL: 9 + 18 =27
SUCCESS

"...What?" Sailor Mercury asks, quietly enough that only Luna is able to hear the girl. "...Is that all? What kind of power is this? How am I supposed to-" Ami paused, head tilting like she is listening to something. It isn't words, so much as... An impression of memory.

The closest word that comes to Ami's mind is Deja Vu, but even that pales in comparison to the feeling. So she follows the impulse, allowing the instincts inborn in her new form to do what they do best.

She reaches a hand to her ear, clicking the button hidden in her earring. Never mind the fact that she can't have earrings. She hasn't had her ears pierced. But the earring is there, the button is there. More important is what happens when she presses the button - A screen, crafted purely of light shimmers as it forms across Ami's eyes, as data and numbers and information all cross the screen so quickly that the girl cannot even read any of it before it disappears.

A line of light shoots across from the center of the screen down towards Ami's wrist. Following the line, Ami sees that she has some kind of tiny box strapped to her wrist.

At the same time, four boxes appear on the screen, focused out into the mist. Within the boxes the resolution changes, becoming clearer and more defined, allowing Ami to see the monsters, even as they slowly try to creep forward, heads swiveling all around to try and see anything through the cotton think fog.

Realizing that she has the time, Ami pulls the box from her wrist, noticing that it has a hinge. Opening the box, Ami realizes that it is some kind of... Tiny computer. More than that, down in one corner of the screen in everything that she can see. Somehow, this tiny computer is controlling the screen in front of her eyes.

Ami glances up at the mist again, happy to see that it is staying, but wishing that she could understand more about it. As if controlled by the thought alone, information begins to scroll down one side of her holographic googles.

Information about the composition of the mist, how the vapor was generated, the amount of magical energy used to create and sustain the fog. The information is thick with jargon and technical terms, but Ami understands each word put before her.

One of the boxes moves closer, and Ami remembers where she is. She can focus on this computer, and everything it is showing her later. Right now, she is still in danger.

She needs some way to defend herself.

Some way to fight back against the monsters.
AMI ROLL: 7 + 18 + (18/2)<Mercury Super Computer> = 34

And again, almost as if the machine is listening to her thoughts, Information about the Sabão Spray spell scrolls across her Mercury Goggles, formula and matrices spreading out before her eyes to show the girl where she would need to make alterations to the spell in order to change the effects.

Among the different changes, four stand out to Sailor Mercury -

[ ][Spell] Sabão Freeze
- +1 Prowess, -2 Prowess to enemies
-- Alter the temperature of the Sabão Spray's mist, causing it to come out even thicker, but more importantly freeze over on those that it hits, causing damage and weighing them down with ice, even to the point of completely freezing over the target
[ ][Spell] Sabão Slick
- -4 Prowess to Enemies
-- Alter the formation of the Sabão Spray mist, causing it form across the ground before collecting into a layer of slick ice that will temporarily freeze targets in place, but even afterwords, the ground becomes slick and frozen
[ ][Spell] Icicle Condensation
- +2 Prowess, +2 Additional Prowess if a Sabão spell is used first
-- Condense water vapor in the air into sharp icicles that are then fired at the target
--- Likely to cause collateral damage if the spell misses
[ ][Spell] Mercury Frost Armor
- +2 Prowess, Each time an enemy successful hits Sailor Mercury they gain -1 Prowess
-- Generate a freezing ice armor across Sailor Mercury, that will explode out sharp shards and water vapor when struck, damaging the enemy and weighing them down with ice

Slick sounds fine but seems like a bad idea to have around someone as clumsy as Usagi.
