[X] Withdraw, seek cooperation with the Ministry and the ruling family, go down as a group.

Yeah, the theme of this arc so far is that the institutions should get a chance to do their jobs, I don't see why we should break from that theme, especially when we need firepower, and that means getting the Viscount on speed-dial.

This is going to escalate up to the MoI, and that means we want to be considered a valuable collaborator who can be trusted to assist, instead of a loose cannon who needs to be kept out of the loop.

Renshu is currently finding a new hole to bury himself in, and if he had a secondary detonator on hand, he'd have used it right away. We are not currently on fire, nor are we seeing surges of Shen or Qi anywhere, which suggests he does not, in fact, have a secondary detonator on hand that he can use in a hurry.

And since the only thing as core to Renshu's character as his spite is happens to be his determination to live, and he thinks he's been made, he's not going to warn the agents here until he's long gone, which means we have a window of time where they don't know they've been made, while if we blunder down into the tunnels they will find out when one of the posts stops reporting in.

The only solution to that is a unified response.

Time to pull civvies into safe locations, and organize a complete sweep of the sewers and cisterns. And it isn't like we won't get another chance to show off. The organizers will probably throw us at the the biggest potential trouble spot.

Easy choice.

If we had our flute maybe we could justify it, but we don't and i do NOT want to handle a Cyan+ monster solo without an actual weapon talisman. The faster Ling Qi gets the fires lit under the MoI and the Viscount the safer we'll all be.

I don't think the threat is great or imminent enough now for LQ to drop everything and go down herself.

I really want another opportunity for LQ to be a big damn hero -- like that Caldera fight where she saved a bunch of third realms with Black Mirror. This time though, the prudent choice wins by a mile.

'Sixiang', Ling Qi thought.

"Sending a message out, telling them to shut down the locations, full search, major cult attack in potentia."
"Stop," she spoke and he froze. "What do you know about these 'party favors'?"

"Seeds. Seeds in the sewers, rat men, corpse eaters, needed guidance. Not any formations I've seen Had… friend in the Ministry of Works, got maps. In the cisterns, had to be.... watered regularly." he wheezed. "Lady Ling, I-"

"Not now, you can speak to the Ministry," she said harshly. "Are they still down there?"

"Yes."
[X] Descend down into the sewers yourself and seek to put an end to any continuing operations while the city awakens.

We can still tell the ministry what we're doing while we go ahead.

So the better metaphor is fires, not bombs.

And we didn't do anything to the detonator except let the guy holding it know we are here.
In keeping with your fire analogy, I think it would be more accurate to say that we also stole all the gasoline that was meant to be dumped on the fires to accelerate them out of control. The worm is described as a detonator by Renshu, but Lung Qi likens it to a battery. If we're extremely lucky, the traps can't be triggered without it. More likely is that it will be slower and more haphazard now, and the big source of power that was supposed to help them skip the first few levels of ramping up is gone, making them slow enough to react to.
