What a nice chapter. Xuan Shi starts to challange his own problems and is growing as a charakter. I hope our trip to Dream sparks the want in him some more.

As for the Vote
my kneejerk reaction is so go for
[ ] Invite the two along to the weapons testing, to chat with Wang Chao and Liang He.
The weapon testing, at first glance, just seams to be more in character for Xia Fen. She has knowledge about weapons, and it would be a more comfortable talk for her. In addition to that, I think all we know about her friend is that he is a crafter that made some weapons (i don't think we know what his project for the competition was) and that he likes abs just as much as LQ.
So it would be well within their established characters.
On the other side we have
[ ] Invite the two along to the poetry reading and bring them into contact with Gan's group.
My first reaction to it was that it comes absolutely out of the left field, and I would not connect those two to poetry. So at first my thought was that the only reason we may want to choose this option because it is LQ's field of expertise ... but it is poetry LQ is more about the music than the spoken word.
On second thought however. Why do I think of introducing Xiao Fen to sth. new she is uncomfortable with as a bad thing? Meizen does not want a typical Black Wiper. She does not want a servant who's only interest is her safety and how she can be better at serving Meizen. She wants a trusted companion and friend who can navigate the literal snake pit that is her home. And challenging Xiao Fen's view of the world with poetry could be a good start to get her to think about her place in the world.
So for now

In kind of ignoring her friend in my reasoning, but that is because for now he is not more than a somewhat interesting named side character for me.
