Su Ling has always been pretty leery of going on adventures with us. We haven't really mastered Dreamwalking yet so idk how good idea it is to take a friend for a ride.

Burrowing Behemoth: Zhengui's long dead parent, source of his Wood/Green/Growth side, now just a memory in Dream.
Nightmare of the Long Knives: Nightmare the Golden Dream Cult Idol lead us to. Extreme Danger. Recommended Dreamwalker Skill of 10.
Shattered Gaol: Weilu Skeletors hangout from Hidden Quest, thief teacher. Tales from the Crypt Quest Line.
Personally I think Su Ling takes priority above all of these. Her mother could use some characterization as an antagonist and this could be a deep dive into Su Ling's own as well as good character development. Plus, there's not really a time limit to any of these? We might want Bleeding Mountain before finishing the Old Road Quest but other than that we're not pressed other than that we likely can't do them all.

I agree with this. There doesn't appear to be a downside to having the option on the table, but we shouldn't take it right now, and it isn't our highest priority.

Definitely felt Diao lady was dodgy but we do need to have a contact there and it's not like we won't keep CRX updated. Unsure about pushing things regarding the vote but I feel it's our best way to get more Su Ling content so gonna vote for dream trip.

An excellent scene, characterizing this Diao Scion in a quick and effective way. Quite the competent political actor, rather than the pragmatic dealbroker that is Luo Zhong. A strange vote though.
I feel like we could probably have Su Ling tag along to the next Music group meeting and suggest the adventure, yes? I almost feel like the meeting is an automatic Yes and the vote is about whether we make the offer when it's a risk.
Building on the earlier compliment, the way this Diao has wound herself inoffensively into the lives of ourselves and our friends is right on the boundary of uncomfortable and acceptable. Yet she stays on the side of Acceptable, and even adapts herself to communicate well with Su Ling despite Su Ling being very suspicious of such people. Her goal with us specifically is very straightforward. This Diao wants to be the one that establishes a backchannel to Renxiang so that she (and her specific family) may access the thoughts of the Heiress and also a channel to deliver offers specific to her family. This is, well.
Doesn't that sound a lot like something the insight "Family is the Root of Corruption" would ping against?
Because it's specifically something this Diao is doing and it's her family that has first dibs on such a backchannel. Our dealings with Meng Diu were done with the understanding that we were interacting with her as a representative of the Weilu Reformer Meng rather than Meng Diu and her immediate family. Our interaction with Bai Lushen were in a formalized transactive context. This is something else, something that doesn't seem to be an ideologically driven deal but instead a deal based on being the individual Diao scion and Diao Family involved with this back-channel.
We're still seeking out the Diao-in-general later on, but I feel this is the sort of interaction that practically guarantees Diao Hualing will be our Diao contact. She's proactive, adaptive, competent, and ambitious. I think I look forward to investigating with her.

We can make the offer, but that's additionally what makes this an odd vote. It's almost asking if we're willing to put ourselves and our friends in danger so that we can spend time with them and attempt to help in our own special way (the DANGER way c: )
the answer is probably "so long as they agree to the danger" because we're usually going to say "yes. Cultivation + friendship time at the same time? Yes."
My only worry would be whether or not it shuts out the timeline in which Su Ling talks to Bian Ya and Bian Ya's companion again. That is an interesting interaction for Su Ling to have, and we can introduce her to Yu Nuan (who wants to be our sister) as well!
I think Su Ling, Yu Nuan, Ling Qi and Ruan Shen are an interesting cluster of personalities. They've each had to wrestle with questions of Freedom, Power, Responsibility, and Connection and they've handled these questions in different ways throughout their lives. Now though, each of them is shifting to take up more Responsibilities and actually understand what they'll need to do now that they've shifted the route they were on.
I think Yu Nuan and Su Ling especially would play off of each other well. Both are aware of the shortcomings of the system, as well as being keenly aware about the unintentional damage caused by the motions of cultivators. Both met us, challenged us, got pestered by us, experienced Ling Qi Certified Adventure/Luck, and were convinced that we mean well even if we're coated in Darkness and Spookiness. In addition, both have recently decided to lean into their Power and actually attempt to proactively engage with this system that has so many flaws. Plus, Su Ling is a Punk in a lot of ways and I hope she learns to drum like a gavel's hammer!
