Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
We're great at both of these.

I think Renxiang's specialties will lie more towards the offensive exterior mission.

Kinda want the Cloud tribe mission. Would be nice to see them onscreen again after fighting shishigui in the underground thing.

Maybe we will run into that Cloud Bard rival of LQ´s.

I would rather fight overground. We do alot of qi draining which doesn't work underground. Also we have more capture options then most.

I'm a little worried about having to defend production students. We're a dodge tank. Having to defend someone means taking attacks ourselves which goes against our build. I am worried we'll see a repeat of the instance where we got poisoned by that assassin.

Liking offensive option for LQ's mobility and the fact that I generally find them more interesting foes. Ling Qi already struggles to see the enemies of the empire as real people and after Wang Chao's talk I think it could be a good time to further her understanding of that. Too easy to dismiss the underground horrors as monsters.

do we have any skills that are on cusp of evolving that might benefit from either stance?

My inexpert impression of which capped skills could apply:
Athletics: Either COULD, Offensive seems much more likely especially given our recent acquisition of LFotWT
Empathy: Both are Unlikely, Offensive seems slightly more plausible due to expected enemy type
Spirit Ken: Both seem unlikely
Woodwind: Both seem equally likely. A fight is a fight and doots are doots

"the Sect is constructing a new forward bases underground"

This is unclear, is there just one base or several? This is actually pretty important due to the amount of needed mobility.

I kind of believe that Ling Qi would have more of a bone to pick with the Defensive option, and as such I think I'm more inclined to choose that option.

Defend mission sounds cool. CRX gets to fight people who barely grasp light as a thing, and we can sit on Zhengui and layer defense fields. We have a lot of good defensive arts nowadays, too.

Also, the shishigui are scary and powerful while the cloud nomads are only more pitiable every time we learn something new about them.

[] Assault the Cloud Tribe Ritual Site (Offensive Mission, Objectives: Kill and capture enemy combatants, gather intelligence, Survive)
[] Defend the Geomantic Forts (Defensive Mission, Objective: Hold the Line, Defend production students, Survive)

Both have good arguments. It's true Ling Qi is better on defense, but on the other hand she and Cai Renxiang are two of only a few third realms who can fly, which really helps with the Cloud Nomads.

Ultimately, I'm curious about the Cloud Tribe Ritual Site. I feel like we might learn some things about them and what they're planning in a way we won't playing defense.

Woodwind seems more likely to evolving somewhere with both wind and wood.

I kinda wanna fight the nomads as something different from the last time. Plus the whole flying thing. Though either seems ok. I trust we can find a way to make it work with all our spirits. Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing them fight together again. They are a hell of a combo and I hope this is a start to seeing the mean girl squad work together.

We're pretty good at defending people. You may wish to reread Starless Night's Reflection
