I think i'll go for this one but only because it's literally the third time it's proposed this turn. I'm actually more interested in the other one but afraid we won't have any more chances of meeting up with Xiulan (who iirc is (over?)working on her breakthrough)

I almost took the other one, because we haven't interacted with Ruan Shen in the inner sect and this would be a good opportunity, but Ayashi's right that we can't afford to ignore the same option too many times. There will be other Ruan Shen hooks in time, I feel.

It's been a long time, and I would rather spend time with people who passed the tournament with us at the moment than people who have been in the inner sect for years. It will be interesting! Hopefully, we can ease Shen Hu's uneasiness in the process and make sure that they don't become antagonistic.

Well, they are fellow tournament winners and Xiulan's fiance uses earth, so the pretense could be that Xiulan is making friends with an earth user so that he would more willing to help out her fiance. The problem with that theory is that we know that Xiulan doesn't care all that much about Fan Yu, so I'm not sure what her actual motive is. Possibly trying to make friends with the only male winner of the tournament that won't be antagonistic to her prior connections? The only other two male winners would be Ji Rong and Kang.

Guessing great uncle must have done something he's now redeemed himself for if he was ever considered below a child. Seems excessive to place so much weight on her shoulders otherwise, and to ditch her as soon as she loses to a Bai (though that wouldn't have looked good at all)
