Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
[x] Gu Xiulan, chatting with an uncomfortable looking Shen Hu

Ok, Xiulan isn't that important to talk to here, but this seems like an obvious opportunity to be nice to Shen Hu and get to know him. Especially given us laying the groundwork in the tournament.

...
I wanna get to know Senior Sister Bian. She rides around on a fox and is super cool.

[x] Gu Xiulan, chatting with an uncomfortable looking Shen Hu

Well one of the many reasons I voted to form a connection with Shen Hu was to open up the possibility of him helping out Gu Xiulan for mutual benefit once Ling Qi was gone from the Sect, which makes this an obvious choice for me.

Sun Liling was no longer the heir of the Sun family.

Iiiiinteresting. Considering the double-tap of Liling not only getting utterly stomped in her organizational conflict with Ren, she also failed in the personal conflict with Bai Meizhen, which Great Grandpa Shao emphasized as her biggest priority, this immediately feels like Liling getting punished. Regardless of the "Official Word", the priors of being removed as Heiress because it is a distraction from cultivation are probably very low, that is just the best position that a noble can be in. If they lose it, it's because they've been found wanting.

[X] Gu Xiulan, chatting with an uncomfortable looking Shen Hu

Finally get to catch up with LanLan at a time where we aren't distracting from her urgent physical cultivation, and finally meet up with Shen Hu as promised.

[x] Her one time music tutor, Ruan Shen, engaged in conversation with… Bao Qingling?

Regarding YR. We might need to set up some better protection around Zhengui now. If YR follows up where he failed last time.

*sigh*

And this is what we get from not listening to Meizhen's advice.

Surprise surprise, Renshu is still a threat. And now we have far more tied hands as for how to deal with him.

That's the price for doing your enemy small injury.
I'd say let sleeping dogs lie, especially when some sleezy bastard is trying to get us to preemptively retaliate against YR.

She vaguely recalled Renxiang mentioning it being popular in Celestial Peaks. A sip confirmed her thoughts, too sweet.

Has Meizhen made it so LQ can't enjoy anything that's not a bitter poison?

but she didn't think he was hostile, she supposed she would have to remember his face though.

Golden.

Can someone remind me who he is? I remember the dude who thought LQ was a gloomy girl and the assasin guy in a mask. Is it one of them?

YR is definitely still going to be a thing one way or another, but... maybe don't consider the statements of the sadistic trashbag who crippled him in the first place as gospel on, like, anything?

There's been an idea raised on discord, I think by @Arkeus? That given Yan Renshu was crippled by a noble, that it was Wen Cao who did it and he's basically trying to capitalize on a deniable asset to continue fucking with Renshu.

Too be honest I expect Renshu to be worried about who crippled him more than Ling Qi. I.e Ling Qi is second on the list or something.

Ruan Shen was her first music tutor, and mentioned that all she seemed to know was gloomy songs though he was okay with that.

Can someone remind me who was he? I remember the dude who though LQ's a gloomy girl and assasin guy in a mask. Is it one of them?
He is the open shirt guy that taught LQ music. Cant remember if he said gloomy, but he acknowledged that FVM was a perfect fit for LQ because of how... sceptical about everything LQ can be.

Also LQ enjoys the eye candy around him. :lol

Also, ouch.

Wasn't that warning from the guy who mutilated Renshu and still got off on us picking on him? I'm leaning towards him just stirring shit and that we ought to trust Renxiang's competence in having dealt with it. Not sure he'd want to go against an agreement with her when he has worse enemies to worry about.

I'm not actually sure about YR still being a threat. From my perspective Wen seemed to be taking a bit to much entertainment in our situation with him, and from him then trying to make us suspicious my view is that he just found what we did to YR last year absolutely hilarious and is hoping to manipulate us into doing it again.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying YR isn't plotting something, but I would rather not we base our actions on what Wen says, who seems to be kind of a slimy guy so far.

We should return AE to Renshu.

Maybe through some complicated scheme where we trick him into thinking he's gotten the better of us and gotten his art slip back and focusing him on Wen. :p

Wen Cao hummed thoughtfully. "How merciful of you Junior Sister, appropriate for a retainer of Cai," Ling Qi almost narrowed her eyes, she felt like he was making fun of her a little.
Ah yes. Because the Dutchess Cai the Tyrant has developed a reputation for mercy...

It is definitely nice that we get Yan Renshu's enemies offering us support if we want it, but that doesn't tell us anything about Yan Renshu or his actual inclinations to hurt us.
