Some of the assault troopers from the base should have the PA(L). Since we should be getting special ops units first for this kind of operation.

Incident Pit IV

Incident Pit IV
Konstantine
With the feeling that the spies' endgame is rapidly approaching and the time for subtlety is at an end, the decision is made to finally close the noose around the necks of the Republic's enemies. Calling in special forces units from the military bases in and around Konstantine City, the heads of the task force simultaneously order the streets surrounding the Oaklands complex shut to civilian traffic and the building's numerous entrances covered by police. With caution thrown to the wind and a number of streets suddenly off-limits to the public, social media erupts with questions and comments; the city's mayor scheduling an emergency press conference to try and calm things down. However, if the spies inside the Oaklands noticed this sudden burst of activity, they didn't get a chance to react as mere minutes after the first road was closed, Republic commandos arrived on the scene.

Carried by over a half dozen overlord dropships, the men and women of the 3rd Commando Battalion's 1st Company arrive with a howl of engines that sets teeth-rattling blocks away. An elite unit equipped with a number of Minuteman suits and supported by numerous automata, the 1st Company are some of the Republic's best soldiers; the unit's foundations laid during Helghan's brutal civil war. Briefed mid-flight and provided with the building's floor plans, the commando's plan is for a two-pronged assault on the residential tower. With half the force landing on the building's still-incomplete roof and moving down and the other half storming the lobby and moving upwards, the 1st company plans to catch the spies regardless of whether they try to stand and fight or run and hide.

With bated breath, the heads of the task force (and an annoying amount of media drones) watch as the men and women of the 1st Company deploy and enter the dark structure; first the automata, then the power armour, then the infantry. The silence is deafening as seconds stretch slowly into minutes, and then… A spate of gunshots rings out. Then another. Then another. A mere handful of minutes after entering the building, the 1st Company reports two hostiles downed, one captured alive, and zero casualties taken.

Having secured the area and neutralized the targets, Republic Intelligence sweeps into the building like a murder of crows; analysts, technicians, and agents arrowing in on the spies' unfinished apartment-turned-meeting-room and turning it inside down. Concerningly, the first discovery made by such operatives is the presence of five bioreactors of a similar design to those seen in the Pyrrus warehouse. Additionally, a number of weapons have been recovered from the assault as has a set of keycards for the Konstantine Institute of Technologies Petrusite research labs. Finally, though the captured spy, Subject Lambda, is not talking (nor capable of talking having had his jaw broken and been immediately sedated to prevent all manner of suicides), a thorough search of his unconscious body uncovered a number of hockey puck-shaped devices hidden under his clothes. Given the hijacking of the 19:30 to Konstantine and the shooting that preceded its recapture, everyone involved is naturally quite paranoid as to why Lambda had the pucks and what's in them. While some are suggesting that they're simply bombs and should be disposed of as per protocol, others are suggesting that there may be something more behind them and are requesting that they be taken apart and examined in an isolated environment --though such a thing would be ad-hoc unless the potential explosives are brought into a street-level mobile isolation chamber.

[] Have a bomb squad detonate the pipe bombs in the tower.
[] Assemble an ad-hoc isolation environment in the Oaklands complex and examine the pucks via remote-controlled automata.
[] Have the pucks/potential pipe bombs brought down and disassemble them in a street-level mobile isolation chamber.
[] Write-in.

Pyrrus
Simultaneously with the attack on the Oaklands complex, the task force in charge of the Pyrrus containment operation gave the go-ahead for the assault to begin and collectively held their breath. Within seconds of the order being given, a swarm of dropships swooped into position above and around the besieged warehouse before disgorging their cargo of Gendarme assault teams; the decision to wait and gather an adequate force ensured that every street-level entrance to the building was covered. Mere second later, entering with stun grenades and ballistic breaches, the men and women of the assault force made contact with the enemy and the fight was on.

Armed almost entirely with small arms such as PDWs and handguns and with only a single assault rifle to back them up, the hostiles within the warehouse fell like wheat before the scythe. Fed tactical information by the surveillance devices that had been infiltrated earlier and experienced at house-to-house fighting thanks to their rigorous training regime, the Gendarmes swept through the building with minimal casualties; only a single member killed and two others wounded. Unfortunately, though pains were taken to capture Subjects Alpha, Nu, and Xi alive, all three spies managed to suicide before they could be captured. To make matters worse, though the assault teams swept the entire surface level of the structure, Subjects Gamma and Zeta were nowhere to be found.

Luck, however, proved to be on the side of the Republic for once.

Minutes after the battle for the warehouse concluded and Gendarme assault teams were replaced by a veritable flood of crime scene investigators, a lone surveillance automata unexpectedly regained communications with the taskforce HQ. Thought lost during the initial infiltration of the warehouse when it dropped off the network, SA(C)-17 spent the time since being written off engaged in a random walk protocol to try and regain connection -- unintentionally delving further into the warehouse's substructure than any other automata. Dumping its memory into the taskforce HQ's servers as soon as the connection was stable enough, the Chilopoda-form machine swiftly became the object of attention when it became apparent that it had spotted Subject's Gamma and Zeta. Though the 30-second video clip is far from perfect what with the poor lighting, grainy image, and the sound of gunshots coming from above, it clearly shows the two spies climbing through a half-smashed wall and into a decrepit tunnel; the connection very much not on the public floor plan.

To the credit of the Republic's analysts, it takes only a few seconds for them to identify the tunnel as being part of Pyrrus's old pre-transition power and water maintenance system. Fractured by the same nuke which all but wiped Pyrrus off the map, the tunnel system was alternately repurposed or filled in with concrete during the reconstruction effort; the new system cannibalizing small sections of the utility network where possible but largely replacing it for the most part. According to a hastily retrieved map of the old network, the defunct tunnel Gamma and Zeta entered leads to a maintenance hatch that opens into the city's main mall. Considering the devices recovered from Subject Lambda and the actions of Subject Theta and others, it's deemed extremely likely that Gamma and Zeta are attempting to place themselves in as large a group of civilians as possible before carrying out an act of terror.

OOC: By mall, I mean something like Bourke Street mall in Melbourne, not the big shopping centres US peeps call malls.

Do you alert the public, and, if so, how?
[] Do not alert the public.
[] Use the police already patrolling the mall to order an evacuation and hope people respond in time and without arguing.
[] Use the emergency alert system to inform Republic citizens throughout the city to evacuate the CBD mall immediately and hope people respond without panicking or arguing.
[] Write-in.

What forces do you deploy to counter Gamma and Zeta?
[] Redeploy the handful of police already patrolling the mall to stop/capture Gamma and Zeta. There's only six of them, but it might be enough.
[] Redeploy Gendarmes via groundcar and hope they can get there in time to stop/capture Gamma and Zeta.
[] Land Gendarmes in the middle of the mall and accept the almost guaranteed panic.
[] Write-in.

Welp those pucks are either chemical or some form high explosive I bet, with luck they will not be loaded with radioactive material and a spreader charge. At least we got one alive though unless we have some serious truth drugs I doubt we can break them.

[X] Plan Old Sins Cover Fresh Ones
-[X] Assemble an ad-hoc isolation environment in the Oaklands complex and examine the pucks via remote-controlled automata.
- [X] Use the police already patrolling the mall to order an evacuation and hope people respond in time and without arguing. Use a cover story of a toxic gas leak in order to to get people to agree to quarantine/medical intervention. Have the local hospitals set up an isolation wing where people can be diverted for quarantine/treatment just in case.
-[X] Land Gendarmes in the the mall and use excuse of rapid emergency transportation and crowd control to explain the Gendarmes.

Edit: edited to swap crowd evac with plan Actually Airtight's write-in as seeing it as a better option.
