Which works with their job as information gatherers so that they can act very good but they need to find a way to actually find their original identity. Which I imagine with their homeworld it could work.
 
Ironically, fact that these "shapeshifting xenos predators" will soon become "counter-infiltration trainers" (for our Marines) means that chance that Imperium will decide to "completely wiped them out", will ironically lessen

Since they're "semi-necessary" for our Marines's training, Imperium will not send against them anything more than "Culling Squad (or two), from time to time"

I think those predators are non-sapient, which is something Imperium rarely bothers with to actively exterminate. Their xenocidal urge is mostly focused on civilisations of Xenos not any form of life not from Earth.
 
Honestly I think the homeworld choice is a bit misguided. It's an anti stealth and infiltration bias but the mission statement is for them to kill the targets already chosen.
Not to mention the mindset cultivated by a world with constant shape-shifting predators could easily compound the Alpha Legions predilection for conspiracy mongering.

Given we're dealing with the Inquisition we can expect some right hand vs left hand shenanigans. It seems very possible that the two will feed eachother's worse impulses.

I could go on, but beyond all the practical stuff it honestly feels a bit boring. I'm not going to advocate for World Eater snipers but I do hope that we'll push the boundaries a bit more in the future. Go for a slightly less obvious combination you know? This is almost as bad as giving the white scars literal horses.

We'll see how it goes but I'm iffy about this, the amount of votes for the leading plan makes it a forgone conclusion I just think the brainworm took over and we went to heavy into the memes. And damn it! we can PLEASE do the Space Marine Chapter on that planet of Horses soon? I thought for sure that was going to be the next one.

I feel like we don't need to pick an assignment every time because it actually limits our creativity. Like, we did Salamanders, and even for a lesser amount of reputation, and they ended up so good. Even if the Raven Guard chapter turned out great too even if it was because of their traits synergising so well.

I swear that was just so well I was surprised it fit in so well to canon.

I agree with that but the problem is given the successes I think the thread is doing them for the Memes/irony of some of the choices and Geneseed linage, or just changing to influence the 40k canon at large.

We already had big support for the Chapter made for the Defense of Terra or Spiting Khrone I expected one of those to win. We'll see how this Chapter turns out and if it flops then I suspect the thread as whole will not take a request and recover or play it safe before trying it again.

I could see us still picking some of the easier options like the ones that just require us to put a chapter in the Solar or Ultimar Segmentums.
 
I have to be honest, everyone who is criticising the currently winning plan has a good point and now I'm actually scared what we will create, hopefully we can balance it out with the next section

I don't even know If we can Change anything at this point, because we clearly commited ourselfs to taking the Alpha Legion now last turn and while i think taking a homeworld on one of the major trading routes might give the chapter into a more of a classical CIA/FBI/KGB type of modus operandi, i dont know if that would make so much of a diffrence in avoiding disastee

We are creating a pure-strain Alpha Legion chapter to act as the militant arm of the Inquisitions chief rival here, i dont know if anything could make so much of a diffrence in avoiding disater here

But yeah, this has a high chance of being the first time we actually made the Imperium worse and i hope undead frog isn't afraid to let such a posibility play out

P.s: I want to make it clear that i dont think this is inherently a bad thing, I'm actually excited of whats to come from this

I was against the task or maybe more open task than one where we are stuck in a certain part also wanted world eaters but hey what is everyone else idea for a chapter

To be fair not a lot of options when one of the options just doesn't work for plans.
