The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

There's a difference between them and people who hard focus termi armor and space hulks. Zone Mortalis is a VASTLY different kettle of fish then Normal Boarding.
I do plan on adding more terminator armor to the iteam list next round the only reason it wasn't on their was some confusion on my end.
Honestly it feels like the thread gets a bit too focused upon the idea that defending a sector is all about holding a planet or position.

Space is big and it takes all kinds to win these wars. There is just as much value in a chapter that can roam about is just as necessary as another that holds the line, does deepstrikes or specializes in heheadhunting.
This is true which is why I presume you had the White Scars as your choice.

They are very good at roaming around after all.

I agree that's why I want to go for more of a boarding focus. Also Imperial Fists successors can do a lot more than just fortify one place like the black templars.

Huh you know with how the Steel Champions blunted the Beast, is Vulkan still around by the time Robute awakens (if not is he part ork  )

[ ] Plan: Defenders of Ultramar
- [ ] The Imperial Fists: A famously stalwart legion, the Gene-Seed of the Sons of Dorn lacks the Betchers Gland and Sus-an Membrane entirely, leaving them incapable of spitting acid as an emergency weapon and unable to enter suspended animation when critically injured, but otherwise is fairly stable. They are renowned as the greatest masters of defense in all the Imperium, and have also begun to fill the role of the treasonous Iron Warriors in siege warfare.
- [ ] Rhodes 77: A planet in the Ultramar region, Rhodes is an important hub world due to it's location along several of the most stable warp routes known to Ultramar. This makes the regions near the world a den of piracy both of the human and xenos variety. (Ultramar Region).
Lets go

@undead frog would a chapter that focuses on ultra dangerous boarding and space hulk clearing to the exclusion of much else be a useful enough niche to make another "weird and over strength" chapters?

That depends a lot on other conditions and caveats sadly.
Those are the practical reasons for it.

The petty one is that I find jetbikes boring and want to see White Scars who do other things instead.

I will take away, their stupid jetbikes
… I am now considering the possibility of letting you guys sacrifice a piece of astartes equipment to double up on another one… but I feel like you people would munchkin it so hard I'd hate myself for it.

So, I made maximum Genessed variations for the plans I like. Plus a Dark Angels one for YT868.
The Imperial Fist are also good at void warfare, at least the Legion was. So they are a good choice for Rhodes 77 and supressing piracy in the region.

In honour of their Primarch's history as a master of cavalry, they have mastered the use of both Combat Bikes and the rarer Jetbike units, and specialise in high speed, hit and run battles.

Despite this, the void of space is still a very hostile place to live, and the population of this vast station is often under attack due to their home's very nature. (Ultramar Region).

[] Plan: Yes, we have a Rock. What about 2nd one? (Maximum Geneseed edtion)
-[ ] The Dark Angels: The Dark Angels, sons of Lion El Johnson, much like the Ultramarines have a very stable and mutation free Gene-Seed. They have access to a great deal of highly advanced technology gifted to them by the Emperor, and have formed several of their Companies into heirs of their previous elite forces such as the Deathwing. However, the Dark Angels have also been acting very erratic of late, and are stubbornly insistent about forming 'relations' with their founding chapters regarding matters they refuse to speak of, even to other Astartes. A great number of officials within the Imperium are growing very concerned about this, but with the death of the First Legion's Primarch, it seems unlikely anyone could force them to reveal the reason for their behaviour.

hmm honestly I think a Scar's chapter might be good at rhodes for chasing down people/traveling through the 500. The Smurfs and their descendants are able to hold groun themselves issue is the chase I feel. That and this is when Khan is still around so he will probably give a boost to a chapter defending his recently "deceased" brother's realm.

I like the privateers maximum gene seed edition. The Ultramar is genuinely one of the best places in the Emperium for people to live in making sure its safe by giving them Max buff White scars cavalry and pilot expertise for hunting down target would be amazing in keeping the place secure and prosperous.

Ya I really like this plan since it's filling a critical hole in the 500 defense pure speed and pursuit.

I prefer this since it can let see exactly what going all in on geneseed can do and also I like the idea of Top tier white scar Successor keeping one of the best places in Imperium safe and stable.

In my opinion, we should have a White Scars successor's chapter who's good at politics and is vital to Ultramar's day-to-day operations.

Rhodes 77 is a good planet to place the Sons of the Khan.

As for expendable Gene-Seeds, I'll leave that to you guys.

Going to be honest here. We already spend somewhere between 10 and 25 points buying gene seed traits each turn, I'd really rather not spend an entire turn's income just on min maxing the traits we get here.

I'd much rather we only use the normal stuff so we can put more points towards new options going forward.

Maybe, but right now we buy more than we spend, and unless we stert to plan long term i see no reason why we can't "max" this chapter we are creating this turn
