The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

As it is, now that you are sober again, you have other things to seethe at.

Like the so-called Emperor's Children, for example.

Given Grimm's "spite", I think that it would be "in-character" for him to make a Chapter from Emperor's Children, put them on Emperor's Landing, then "make sure that they're 'biggest Loyalists that ever Loyalisted'"
is their anything else special abut minotaurs over ogryns? having horns to gore people?

From what I know, there is no Chapter named "The Ogryns" 😉😆😆

[] Plan Powerfull space privateers
-[ ] The White Scars: The Sons of Jaghatai Khan bear no overt physical defects, yet the White Scars Gene-Seed has been known to make those implanted with it more savage and hungry for war. In honour of their Primarch's history as a master of cavalry, they have mastered the use of both Combat Bikes and the rarer Jetbike units, and specialise in high speed, hit and run battles.
-[ ] Rhodes 77: A planet in the Ultramar region, Rhodes is an important hub world due to it's location along several of the most stable warp routes known to Ultramar. This makes the regions near the world a den of piracy both of the human and xenos variety. (Ultramar Region).
-[]spend
--[]1 Charges of Legendary Gene-Seed.
--[]4 Charge of Adaptive Gene-Seed.
--[]4 Charge of Potent Gene-Seed.

I just want to see a chapter if we do this, the amount of charges must not need to be all of them but...

Huh just noticed Dorn, Russ and Corax are still here or at least still known when Fulgrim fled.
I'm not too clear on when, exactly, the Loyalist Primarchs began to disappear. I know for sure, though, that all of them are gone by the War of the Beast, which will be the next massive headache Grimm must endure. Be warned - they probably won't be around much longer.

It's during the WotB that Dorn dies leaving only a disembodied hand, while Vulcan...lives(?) but disappears. The Khan has by this point probably gone with the wind, Corax might've started scaring the shit out of Lorgar by then.

While true consider that we already have such chapter (the raven guard successors), I think that having a 2nd Phalanx but focused on eastern fringes is better, but to each their own
There's a difference between them and people who hard focus termi armor and space hulks. Zone Mortalis is a VASTLY different kettle of fish then Normal Boarding.

[ ] Plan Farmer-Soldiers
- [ ] The Ultramarines: The most pure and stable Space Marine Gene-seed, the Ultramarines, sons of Roboute Guiliman, are a lineage that gives no great benefits but in turn does not have great downsides. They are tactically balanced, seeking to practice all forms of warfare rather than master just a few, and stand as the most numerous of the surviving Space Marines. They do seem to have started a minor tradition of maintaining ties with their successor Chapters, however. Whether this is a boon or a curse remains to be seen.
- [ ] Corna: A combination of a Death World and an Agri-World. The soil of Corna is seemingly impossible to exhaust, remaining fertile no matter what stress is placed on it, but a price seems to need to be paid for such a bounty. Every single night, the inhabitants of Corna are constantly assailed by a wide variety of strange monsters, all of whom seem to vanish entirely by the day. (Ultramar Region).

While the planet options are neat, am aiming for an true Ultramarine Successor -- being descended from warriors and statesmen both, can imagine them protecting Ultramar as well as handling food-based logistics.
Since we already put some stock in Adaptive Gene-Seeds, they should not have any issue getting used to the weird night-terrors.

I guess it would be nice seeing instances of Astartes working the fields they are stationed under too when not in war-mode, heh.

Honestly I'm tempted to vote for this plan simply to find out what traits a horror movie planet can give us.

Honestly it feels like the thread gets a bit too focused upon the idea that defending a sector is all about holding a planet or position.

Space is big and it takes all kinds to win these wars. There is just as much value in a chapter that can roam about is just as necessary as another that holds the line, does deepstrikes or specializes in heheadhunting.
