I actually see a new space race as a way to like, cool off tensions on Earth?

There's this whole history and etiquette to space travel, because it involves going into an environment utterly inimical to life. It's very understood that you respect your fellow spacefarers and lend aid when asked for, on a similar level that a medieval person would understand the rules of hospitality.

You're very much *competing* but you better be a damn good sport about it.

And on practical grounds, yes we're not landing anywhere close to any of the Apollo sites.
My current plan is to focus ground ops on the South Pole where we can find water that can serve as a source of propellant in the future.

And I actually want to sell our launch and refueling services to anyone who wants to pay, including NASA.

They probably won't take us up on it, but unaligned countries, and European commercial customers might well bite given the cost difference we can offer.
Think NASA would want to but not be allowed to do so.

It'll probably provoke NASA to update their Space Shuttle system. Which, hey, if you're into space, is cool.

I doubt it'd unify America though..

They are heading to the civil war cliff, and I'm saying those same people that will be shooting at each other in the future are likely the same ones that deny NASA from allowing to do it's space nerd fun.

Challenger is going to happen sooner rather than later (1986 irl). Even with butterflies, the shuttle killing it's crew was always a question of when rather than if, and the knee jerk reaction of Congress will be to order NASA to launch more often, which will exacerbate all of the shuttle's issues.

We may see Shuttle Block 2 (the orbiter producion line is still open at this time), tho, as well as a switch to liquid fed boosters - possibly with some sort of recovery.
It will still suck tho, in that it's just not capable of flying often enough to compete with ASAS for... a multitude of technical reasons.
They'll fix the SRB issue and then run into a bunch of tile issues that will probably take a while to hunt down.

We'll probably see a DC-X adjacent clean sheet design from the DoD side. Which will be more of a direct competitor, but it would also be hydrolox first stage so... :p

Can imagine a lot of NASAs people trying to get into our space organization when the usas civil war officially kicks off.

Eh. A lot of them believed, genuinely, in the cause of promoting the USA's stated values. That said, I will believe there's going to be a brain drain to other English speaking countries.Maybe Canada or England will get it's own space program, lol.

Also, RE the flag: the Nightmare Challenges are meant to be things that make you go: "We should probably not do that." If you want to make a selfie before the Flag or add another flag to it while planting an unbleached US flag, you can do so if you wish.
How about we steal the original flag and replace it with a other brand new USA flag and then just...don't return the original flag to the USA for a completely made up reason they can't prove is false?
Edit: like I don't know moon radiation.

I'm reserving the right to retroactively change integrally stiffened cylinders to balloon tanks for the upper stage once I have the time to do the math to check if the performance improvement from balloon tanks outweighs the cost savings form the ISCs.
From a tech standpoint it means less anachronistic R&D because balloon tanks are an old, old tech at this point.

For a minute i thought you where talking about the inflatables iss modules (1) wich seem curious since i didn't thought they where that old.,fun

As much as I love space. As we are an island expanding to underwater cities in the future might also be viable. And cheaper then space. But whatever action will help us with the space megaproject would be my interest in voting for.

Space is easy mode compared to building in seawater.

Space will kill you if you fuck up.

Seawater will actively seek out ways to make your life as a technological civilization miserable (and kill you).

Also I found Nightmare+ challenge for moon landing: Terraforming the moon to at least 20% habitable or upper.

Imagine being the first Federation (CyPac) to terraforming the Celestial body?

Space doesn't corrode, have pressure, add friction or force stresses on your structures, and doesn't have storms.

Oceans have all of those.

Space is the GM that says "these are the rules; if you die, you die." Oceans, meanwhile, go book diving to look for anything within the rules to try to kill you.

Qm how good are our embassy in other country, how many country do we have embassy in ?
Do we have foreign embassy in guang ?

So I have a few questions:
1) how long do we have before the vote closes?
2) Is the electricity production-consumption ratio sufficient at the moment?
3) Once the two final electrification actions have been completed, how many geothermal power plants will be needed to get rid of fossil fuel power plants? (apart from perhaps a few emergency power plants for the sudden increase in consumption and possible destruction of the non-fossil power plant)
4)Is it possible to export energy?, whether by submarine cables or this Australian idea? (these are the only two methods of exporting energy for the islands that I have found)
5)Does the cosmodrome increase our fuel consumption once functional?
6)Would an action "Develop And Test Novel Power Production Methods" which would improve our current methods and seek new ones in a similar way to the action "Develop And Test Novel Food Production Methods" but for power be possible?
7)If I understood correctly all the ships/submarine that have been designated are built in the background with the part needing the advenced electronic factory being paused until said factory is maide right?, have the coastal patrol ships been finished?, so that we can do the action "-[] Create A Dedicated Coast Guard"
8)Should we do the actions "--[] Develop Naval Rockets (Mega-Project - 0/2 Actions)" and "Designing a Torpedo" before the ships are finished being built at the risk of be limited in the possible designs or have to retrofit the ships/submarines to be adapted to the future rocket/torpedo?

1. A bit yet.
2. Ye.
3. 2.
4. Possible? Yes. Feasible right now? No.
5. Only slightly.
6. Ye.
7. Ye. And ye.
8. No. I'll just assume your weapons designers worked within constraints lain down by ship designers.

I think I'll end up reworking parts of ASAS tomorrow because I realized I've been costing upper stages erroneously (as if they're all expended in one go instead of often reused on orbit, which means I have to consider the cost of the propellant for refueling).

With regards to weapons for the ships, I would like to throw two to three actions at it to update our arsenal in general to a highly standardized set of missiles for each of our armed branches.
