    Look, it's not my fault that she's only needed significant opposition like twice in the past decade and her plans are sensible.
    I'd like to see a bit more ecology-based development, but I'd also like the world to not be on fire and I acknowledge the things I want are not necessarily the things we need right now.

    I am hoping to start catching up on the backlog of agricultural options in the second half of this plan with stuff like urban permaculture and silvopasture and more forest farming. In many ways the best thing we can do for the ecology is development projects like nuclear reactors and national rail because those reduce our emissions the most.

    Our ability to do anything about it is pretty limited tbh. We can ship stuff in by air, but we don't have the weight of metal nor the blue water operational doctrine to contest the USN right now.
    But hey. That just means more orders for cargo planes for us to fulfill! This is good for the economy. :V

    Think we could make a sub with decent cargo cap? Enough to smuggle in more exotic items like electronics maybe.

    I'll be honest, I just wanna do some good ol fashioned blockade runs. :V

    When that was first posted I wanted to joke about doing our own communist Berlin Airlift but I was at work and had a job to do.
     
    It just seems we are going to try to make everything be able to run on nuclear power indirectly from a plant or directly with there own nuclear engine.

    It depends.

    Nuclear scales up very well, but scaling it down can be tricky. Big industrial centers, trains, district heating/cooling, etc all benefit from nuclear. Large ships like container freighters and carriers also benefit. Smaller things like cars, medium to small planes, and smaller boats (corvette and lighter) are all better off sticking with kerosene - through that too can be synethesized using nuclear power via the Fisher-Tropsch process.
