630.M43 - Of Forgotten Symphonies
The music recovered from the Ancients was as sublime as it could be profane; dancing images and music interwoven or not displayed at all, it could be as energizing as it was a breath of relief; one set could invite you to dance through the cosmos on wings of impossibility while another would bring you down to earth in a shattered mind; one an exploration of self and the questions of mind while another was nothing but noise that blared into your ears. It was a feast for all corners of the Federation, from high to low, from left to right, chemical to electric brains alike able to partake thanks to the sheer width and breadth offered to all who dared to participate in the mad grandness of this revival of forgotten symphonies.

"What do you think happened?" Hymnal K'lur asked her Choir sibling, carefully reading through the finely printed data currently making its way through their little Celestial Enclave, their higher-ups in the capital system trying to utilize quantity where quality had failed them.

"I have no idea," Soaring muttered back, preening her wings under the heat lamp overhead, her mind taking a pause after a dozen hours spent trying to figure out the same as K'lur was doing.

"Hmmm." With that, the conversation ebbed into a comfortable silence, and both minds turned their own ways as hundreds of others tried to understand the same thing; why the Warp had suddenly lost a "Tier" of Tremors.

Though both were happy that it had, as all projections had pointed to a Warp Storm being all but unavoidable within the next 50 years...but why had it done so?

-[] Anti-Psychic Materials (2/5)
There are some materials that, for one reason or another, seem to repell psychic phenomena and works, which, in the right hands, could prove to be a boon in our anti-daemon efforts.
(Gain: Anti-Psychic Materials collected and understood.)
-[] Stellar Psyker Staves (0/30)
The ability to create psychic focii has long served the Stargrove Federation and the Celestial Choir well, and with millennia of knowledge and familiarity comes the ability to strive further than yesterday. With the Sun Melody having become a measuring stick upon which one can see progress, it is estimated that further refinement will be capable of reducing the damages incurred into "mere" full-body sunburns.
(Gain: Improves Choir efficiency and might when using Songs and Melodies.)
-[] Celestial Psychic Hoods (0/12)
Thanks to the work done in figuring out how to psychically tune and shape cloth and metals to weave together into one whole, a "Psychic Hood" for the layperson, the Celestial Choir is eager to not only begin large-scale dissemination of knowledge and practice but also delve deeper into their understanding of how they function and can be improved.
(Gain: Celestial Psychic Hoods are equipment that shields your Psykers from backlash to varying, but at least notable, degrees.)
-[] Applied Anti-Warp Corruption Sigils - (9/12)
Anti-Warp Sigils of potent etching, carved into the leather born from the willing, carved by hands that shiver in cold and burning pain, wrought into reality itself with the blood of ichor dripping from violated souls carrying out their creation. Shield these places, guard these items, know no rest and adhere to no master beyond this: hark against Thought and Cancer from the Deep Beneath Growth.
-[] Aethyrmetric - Null Thoughts (33/50)
It is one thing to debate with reality to alter a state. Another to order it to cease reality in totality.

[] [General] Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication
A new age of peace dawns on the Stargrove Federation, and with it rises the required needs of its various branches and plans to come to fruition, from subverting hostile polities to maintaining friendly relations with good neighbors. Thanks to an expansion in resources, the Ministry of SIIC can now focus on multiple things simultaneously.
[] [AUTOMATIC] Sub-Sector Subversion (Choose Two)
With the allocated funds, a slow subversion of two Sub-Sectors can be undertaken. However, these efforts can be focused and accelerated with dedicated attention.
(Gain: Allows you to slowly convert two [2] Sub-Sectors simultaneously to the Stargrove Federation without Action cost.)

[] A Soul Smeared
An exploration fleet of New Dawn has stumbled upon an ocean world in a system between the major Warp Lanes. Normally, it would be flagged foe colonization, however when the fleet drew closer to confirm some strange readings, the entire planet seemingly tried to shoot at the fleet via incredibly primitive weaponry. The problem is that, as the Choir with the fleet confirmed, there is only one soul on the entire planet, not enough to coordinate the attempted attack, even with the use of machinery (which would have been noticed). And that one is smeared across the entire planet. Someone should investigate that.
(Gain: ???)

[] ISC Access - (Van Zandt Free Duchy/Mashan Temple Authority/Thrice-Fold Councils)
The Federation's ISCs are eager to spread their markets and customer bases beyond the Stargrove Federation, willing to brave the (relatively safe and profitable) unknown.
(Gain: Disables one random ISC per Turn and significantly improves relations with the Van Zandt Free Duchy/Mashan Temple Authority/Thrice-Fold Councils.)

[] [AUTOMATIC] Improve Relations (Choose Two)
Though tedious work, improving relations over time with steady hands instead of bold declarations and treaties will enable more of the latter to be wrought without any complications.
(Targets: Mashan Temple Authority, Van Zandt Free Duchy, and Thrice-Fold Councils.
Gain: Slowly improved relations.)

[] [Military] Create Twenty Grand Armies (Write-in Names) for (Sub-Sectors) or 20 Knight Orders (Write-in Names)
Grand Armies are composed of 2 SAGs per Sub-Sector System, which are composed of 4 Units each. Though each SAG will have its own Battle Standard and Motto, only those existing will be recorded in detail. A Grand Army requires you to specify each SAG as either Light, Medium, or Heavy, with the further moniker of Infantry/Mechanized/Tanks/Augmetic Legions Formations attached. All other specializations will be taken care of within the Grand Army itself. A Knight Order contains 20 War-Packs, one War-Pack consisting of One Questoris per Four Armigers, of variable Patterns.
(Gain: Twenty Grand Armies or Twenty Knight Orders.)

[] [Military] Fleet Construction - (20.000 Points per Action)
-[] 20x Nomadic Fleets [Automatic] (0.4/1)

Chose Names for Fleets: Triumph of Obliteration, Unfettered Zeal, Pathfinding Maw, Causal Wound, Tombmaker, Celestial Fanfare, Watchmen, Light-Sworn.
See Informational - Military Forces for Fleet Compositions/Point Values.
(Gain: Fleets.)

[] [Military] Design New Voidship Classes - [Available: Destroyer (1 DP), Frigate (2 DP), Light Cruiser/Freighter (4 DP), Heavy Cruiser/Freighter (8 DP), Grand Cruiser (16 DP), Temple Ship (25 DP), Battleship (50 DP), Dreadnought (1.000 DP)] - [650 DP]
-[] Nomadic Fleets Of Sector Ranges

From what we can tell, thanks to our history, what information we, the Kil'drabi, Yeeni, and the archives of our planets tell us, the difference between a prosperous interstellar polity and one naught but ash is the strength of their navy. At the moment, we have the beginning of a proud Void Fleet, yet purely defending against our enemies is a great way to get ground down into dust over time; we need to be able to bring the fight to them.
(Information: Ship Classes requiring more DP than you possess take more than one Action to design.
Gain: Newly designed and built Ship Class/es.)

Hippity Hoppity has revealed to us a site where technology, rites, knowledge, or culture of the Ancients yet remain...if not how intact. It is far away from our borders, and thus the fleet sent there to uncover the truth must be guarded.

[] [Psykana] Conduct Ten Melodies (0.0/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
The Celestial Choir has been given the means; with time, they shall conduct their songs. They will listen to the Warp and filter out the false whispers from the slumbering guidance of the Star Child. In halting prayer and stumbling humming, the truth will be stripped until nothing but it remains in the hands of those who shall make it anew into power to be wielded by the Choirs to come. As there are 10 Celestial Choirs free to pursue research, the High Council can ask them to pursue a target instead of what comes close. This will, naturally, be lost once they dip below 10 Choirs.
(Total: 19
Uncovered: Revenant II, Oblivion III, and Thule II.

We've done this nearly a dozen times already, let's do it again folks!

Gain: The Thrice-Fold Councils join the Stargrove Federation.)

[] [Psykana] Conduct Ten Melodies (0.2/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
The Celestial Choir has been given the means; with time, they shall conduct their songs. They will listen to the Warp and filter out the false whispers from the slumbering guidance of the Star Child. In halting prayer and stumbling humming, the truth will be stripped until nothing but it remains in the hands of those who shall make it anew into power to be wielded by the Choirs to come. As there are 10 Celestial Choirs free to pursue research, the High Council can ask them to pursue a target instead of what comes close. This will, naturally, be lost once they dip below 10 Choirs.

646.M43 - Until The Eldar New
The planet with its simulacrum of a soul smeared across its entirety proved, in the end, too much of a curiosity for the Federation to resist a thorough investigation with Choirs and specialists loaded onto a fleet to look at the planet that bears only one soul and who attempted to attack the exploration fleet of New Dawn.

Initial readings are disappointing and inconclusive, a thousand different directions and wishy-washy conclusions drawn from the samples of the soul's Song within the Warp, no observation and no attempts to attack the fleet in orbit worth to even write down for anything other than to have the planet marked as an oddity not worth the time of the Federation at all...

Until the Eldar came.

The captain of the light cruiser that came politely requested that the fleet depart at once and leave the world alone, for it bears the malformed spirit born from their people's ancient attempts at giving life to worlds. They are responsible for keeping the mind, more akin to that of a scared child seeing formless monsters outside their window, safe and at ease. The fleet and the Choirs were very much seen as the monsters, and they have come to make them go away, soothe the mind to rest once more, and depart themselves.

Seeing no reason to press the Eldar for more information for a thing the expedition leader has already filed away in their mind as "useless," they bid them farewell and depart, leaning back to guide the fleet toward the Federation's territories once more with calm.

The Choirs are anything but calm as the news spreads to them, necks snapping toward the read-outs and the written-down Song of the Planet in psychoactive ink, a faint humm that resembles its original as closely as the recording Choir could produce.

Gears turn. Puzzle pieces begin to slot together. Awareness spreads. Possibilities expand...and collapse to one point of application.

Choose One:
(6-Hour Moratorium)
[] Sacred Sands - Cognitive
All worlds shielded by the Sacred Sands have their psychic defenses bolstered by the very same gaining a limited cognitive function to actively react and counter-act any attempts to breach their protection and alter the souls it shields.
[] Wetware Automata - Oversoul
Already bearing meat as part of their cognitive processes, the Wetware Automata of the Stargrove Federation have their brain simulacrums subtly altered to ape the channels and streams of the Smeared Soul, turning lifeless automata into machines with...not a soul. But just enough spark to bolster their effectiveness.
[] Machine-Spirits - Waking
The spirits of the Machine are not at all similar to that of the Smeared Soul, yet attempts to bring them to waking states have, over the centuries, yielded more and more information on what not to do, what to do to avoid abomination, and what to do to increase resiliency. The Song of the Planet is the last piece in an incomprehensible puzzle to begin a poke...to wake the spirits up.

650.M43 - Brother Il-Aluth Prayed New
Master of Fleets Il-Aluth kneeled before his personal shrine in his quarters, hands clasped upon the hilt of his sword as he prayed.

He prayed not for himself, not for any citizen of the Federation, not for any soldier of the Duchy, nor for the safety of the Pilgrims; the strength to fight the monsters he could feel within his bones were approaching closer with every decade within the cover of the abyssal darkness outside the Star Child's Embrace...no, he did not pray for any of those.

He prayed for the six-hundred forty-three Brothers made nothing more than slaves to a regime of hatred and oppression, used as fodder for the cannons by manipulating their inherent righteousness and Emperor-Given drive to protect the innocent.

He prayed for the six-hundred forty-three Brothers who had battled these last millennia alone and in darkness, grasping with one shaking hand upon their heart to light the way as the other held weakly onto their weaponry to stave off yet another threat existential and monstrous beyond belief.

He prayed for the six-hundred forty-three Brothers who stood, again and again and again and again, before the worst that the galaxy could offer, stood with one shield in hand and weapon in the other, charges both those of living souls and explosive kind for the last eventuality behind them, prayer upon their lips and courage in their hearts.

He prayed for the six-hundred forty-three Brothers that died, one after the other, an endless line of corpses marked upon the dying shells of broken worlds ringing with the lament of those they failed to protect...

Because there were none who would stand with them!

Fists clenched upon the hilt, and Il-Aluth felt RAGE course through him, unbridled fury at every failure his siblings over the Galactic Divide had to endure because they were abandoned, wrath at every humiliation slung their way for standing where they ought as proud Sons of the Great Angel...

Brother Il-Aluth prayed. He prayed for them. To hold out. To stand just a little longer, just a little more.

Brother Il-Aluth prayed...

That they would not be too late to bring them home.

[] [Psykana] Conduct Ten Melodies (0.4/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
The Celestial Choir has been given the means; with time, they shall conduct their songs. They will listen to the Warp and filter out the false whispers from the slumbering guidance of the Star Child. In halting prayer and stumbling humming, the truth will be stripped until nothing but it remains in the hands of those who shall make it anew into power to be wielded by the Choirs to come. As there are 10 Celestial Choirs free to pursue research, the High Council can ask them to pursue a target instead of what comes close. This will, naturally, be lost once they dip below 10 Choirs.

The fleets have been built, the paths have been directed, the foes chosen and encountered, the Legion no longer used to endless war. This shall change for the coming foe. After the Choirs determined that the Lamenters had not almost ended with Chapter Master Chyropheles becoming the last Brother, but had indeed survived away from him and rebuilt, it must be our duty to see our lost siblings returned to the fold to fight for a purpose bold and true, not one of hate and repression!
(Gain: Improves Lamenter Legion Quality. Gather the Lost Lamenter Chapter.)

660.M43 - Aboard The Fleet New
The fleets are sent on their way, tens of billions of souls shifted from the halls and hearts of the Stargrove by the simple request of Chapter Master Gamma the Apostle, war machines in their hundreds of billions stowed away on carriers and haulers, slumbering streams of data waiting to be roused to war and death by their attending technicians and Automatan-Dominii, with the Nomadic Fleets pulled along to act as further screening and scouting against the horrors that dwell beyond the Great Divide, Temple Ships and Titans in attendance of the exodus that seeks to bring back those Lamenters that were left and had to fend for themselves in a galaxy gone mad and hateful beyond counting, with the Seyfert taking the place of pride in the heart of the combined fleets, four thousand one-hundred ninety-three vessels from the tiny Lupi to the domineering Virgos and Herculees, burn their drives against the madness on a mission of rescue and of intelligence gathering.

Seven-Thousand Five-Hundred Hymnals begin to chant aboard the fleet as the Great Divide looms, pitting over a combined One-Million Five-Hundred-Thousand years of active service and education against the barrier of CHAOS made manifest...enter it...and vanish beyond.

They are now on their own on the other side. May the Star Child have mercy on those who bar their way.

In contrast, the Federation, whose eyes now turn filled with avarice to the rest of the Celestial Choir singing of ancient times and ancient sites, shall show none to the sites they have managed to uncover. It may be true that most of the technology before the Dark Age of Technology was either known or easily replicated, a truth that had many adherents of the Mechanicus overjoyed, but it was likewise true that there was a moment when human technology...ceased to make sense, like they snapped their fingers and conjured advancements beyond comprehension in the timespan of days.

But who needs recounted tales, when there are intact sites to plunder?

[] [Psykana] Conduct Ten Melodies (0.6/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
The Celestial Choir has been given the means; with time, they shall conduct their songs. They will listen to the Warp and filter out the false whispers from the slumbering guidance of the Star Child. In halting prayer and stumbling humming, the truth will be stripped until nothing but it remains in the hands of those who shall make it anew into power to be wielded by the Choirs to come. As there are 10 Celestial Choirs free to pursue research, the High Council can ask them to pursue a target instead of what comes close. This will, naturally, be lost once they dip below 10 Choirs.

[To Be Resolved Tomorrow] [Chapter] Test The Legion Gather The Lost Brothers (1.5/4 2/2) - [TBD Legion Fleet 1+2 are unavailable while this Action is active.]

[] [Other] Take Care Of [Future Or Current Problems]
(Write-In the problem being addressed.)

AN: Actually fell asleep while trying to write something for the Lamenters, so I am pulling rank and giving you the lore and fluff tomorrow, because my yellow bois don't deserve EeepyCooky's writing crimes. Nothing happened that requires you to take action, so no worries/doomsaying. That means you Alectai.

670.M43 - All Of You New
The Warp screams. Void sunders. Time buckles. Space distorts. Chants reverberate. Engines roar.

The Deliverance Fleet emerges on the other side of the Great Divide, ships blaring sensors into the surrounding regions with high pitches of shrieking sensors and hollering commands, weapons swivel, and Thules stand ready to sally forth against any enemy that should stand against their task.

No foes are found, and so Deliverance organizes, plots courses, and sends out a hundred detachments, flinging scouts and fleets into the void toward their destination: the Wayward Lamenters.

Engines roar. Chants reverberate. Space distorts. Time buckles. Void sunders. The Warp screams.

The Deliverance Fleet sinks into the Warp and begins its march.

The first contact with anything on the other side is with a band of Ork Freebota's, the Nomadic Fleet 'Singing-Journey' thundering its outdated guns and flashing its underpowered lances against the Croozers as it disengages, the planned upgrades to the Kil'drabi fleets delayed again and again leading to them being barely on par with the racing designs of the Orks, their Zzzap-Boom guns and Repetur-Kannuns scouring deep gashes and rents into armor and shields, yet the Choirs aboard the Nomadic Fleet can sear through the Croozers faster than they can retaliate, winning the war of attrition until they can disengage.

The second contact occurs against a scout fleet of the Unyielding Bastion Armada, the gunners and Captains of the Imperial ships not even bothering to talk to the obvious Xeno ships, their winged and geometric shapes in white, black, and blue dancing against their mighty bulwarks as their Plasma-Shunts spit burning lightning-fast death, Grav-whips pluck their deadly toll from those ships unable to evade its invisible strands, and Bale-Eyes target foes and burn ever brighter with every second, a battle of one scout detachment against another...until the eyes of the Choirs turn black.

The Void Titan emerges from underneath the Imperials.

The screams of the crews praying for salvation from evil by the Grace of the God-Emperor and the Holy Son within the belly of the beast fall on deaf ears and hollow divinity.

It takes no effort for Brother Herot to crush the skull of the Imperial Governor on the balcony of his palace, his body turning from an agitated mass of blubber and stumpy appendages to a lifeless corpse, and he lets the great mass fall much to the thanks of his arm straining to hold aloft the mass of useless meat, and much to the great cheers of the million freed slaves below, the body falling until it takes even Brother Herot's enhanced hearing great effort to listen to it splatter unto the ground below.

Those closest to the splatter of meat begin to beat what little is left to further paste, celebrations happening everywhere as other Space Marines hunt down the "Nobility" of the planet with great vengeance and fury, painting priceless paintings hanging in fantastically decorated halls of luxury and finery into gore and offal.

Deliverance had heard of this planet when the Governor had called into the Warp for aid against an uprising led by Chaos Cultists, Choirs hearing the message loud and clear. They had gone here to help even those working for a cruel regime, for there are many that suffer under it, only to find out that there had been no cultists, only starving masses desperate for food the Governor refused to hand out as he wanted to use it for a party of his.

It is telling of this world's governance and care for its citizens that the people accept the food handed out by the Irrita, Xenos in shape far more than most of the propaganda of this world warns against, with prayers of thanks and gratitude upon their lips and tears of relief in their eyes.

"That's a big ship," Rorik Hammerfall observes; the massive form of the Seyfert crunching through asteroids nearby with its extended yards and internal manufactories, mining ships and tugs swarming around the belt to locate and tow more and more material toward their mothership in large batches so that losses in ships and components can be replaced. "Though we can build bigger than those kids."

Haldrik Sunhammer snorts at that, shaking his head. "Reckon a planet is also a big 'un? Mayhaps a gas giant is a 'wee laddy' for your tastes? The damn ship is large enough we could ram our vessel into it, and it wouldn't even fooking notice!"

"Calm yer tits, ye grumpy fucks," Bragnar Warhammer beeps at them, analyzing the potential super-structure of the ship to figure out how much it would weigh while running a simulation regarding its potential fuel use. "The 'Stargove' lads may be strange and big, but they know how to pay when they need stuff. Got an arse full of the good haul for punting them an old copy of the current borders; I ain't complaining, am I?"

"Still could build a bigger ship," Rorik grumbled, rolling his eyes.

Vylhia loads another magazine into her Heavy Mag-Caster, praying the Litany of Sharp Shooting as she does, her mind cleared by the fog that had followed when the daemon had hit her head, the pain sharpening her senses once she was well enough again to pray once more. That done, she stands against the battlements cracked and shattered by the endless sieges of the Eternal Foe, brave and valiant Guardsmen and women standing with her or lying dead on the spots where they had been cast down, and begins to send blessed stakes with inscribed prayers of purification and hatred against the hordes of Khorne cultists and berserkers assaulting their souls.

Burning runes and screaming heretics aflame flare into existence for flickering moments as their shields and bodies tank the hits sent against them, both by the ordinary Mag-Casters of the guard and the blessed variants of the Order of the Hanged Saint, before their heretical might falters, as it always shall and will be, before their righteous purity.

But even as she prays and fires stake after stake against the foe, she knows, deep within her heart of hearts, that their munition holds will run dry within the week, the serfs of this city unable to strip their city fast enough to acquire the materials required to supply them longer, and she knows that what lasguns remain in use will not be able to hold the foe for more than a day after that.

Another magazine is switched, a hundred heretics dead and wounded, a hundred-twenty rounds used well, and Vylhia wonders how many foes she may yet slay before the Holy Son calls her to His side into the Martyr's Crusade or if she shall be worthy enough to be called by Him into His service unto the daemons assaulting Terra from within.

She prays she shall die standing, as all His subjects should, and switches another magaz-the skies bleed red.

Her eyes cast upwards, and she recognizes, for the fleeting second before the ortillery hits the planet, that it is ortillery, though she knows not from whom. There were no ships left, none that weren't the Heretics, and no reinforcements would come to relieve them as their Astropaths had been subverted and killed. Though the foe's ships had left after a while, not bothering to wipe out the last pockets of resistance, so on whose side were the ships in orbit?

The ortillery strikes true, and Khornates burn in their tens of thousands. On their side, or against Chaos at least.

A great sobbing cheer rings around Vylhia, some members of the Guard buckling under the relief they feel knowing that salvation has arrived, though Vylhia herself can only cast her own eyes upwards.

To the rain of red bleeding from the skies.

+++THIS IS CAPTAIN GALEAS DRAGONWARD OF THE LAMENTERS LEGION! REINFORCEMENTS AGAINST RUIN HAVE ARRIVED! ETA 2 MINUTES! HOLD OUT JUST A LITTLE LONGER!+++

Lamenters... Legion? There was only one Legion, and it was the Raven's.

Vylhia steels her heart and begins to pray; they had exchanged one foe for another.

The ships of the Harlequins weave through Fleet Deliverance with barely tolerated acrobatics, their winged arrows plunging and twirling through the formation to keep it from bumping through the webway tunnels they are being led through, cutting their journey in half by the "gracious invitation to a play they shall not miss" of the Aeldari that had offered them such, giving themselves and a hundred others as assurance of their goodwill and character. The Admirals of the fleet accepted, though they denied the invitation to watch the plays they now performed aboard the Seyfert to the cheers and weeping and laughing and awe of the crew, ancient sagas and hilarious jokes and daring dances and dangerous fights carried out in the weeks it takes to deliver them from one section of the galaxy to another.

Deliverance emerges from the portal in another sector whole...but is swarmed by the immaterial screams of the innocent praying for help from all sides, monsters, Chaos, aliens, and the war between the Imperium and the Ravens burning through planet after planet.

Drives ignite, and Deliverance sets out to aid whom they can.

It is a scene straight from a play recounting the days of old; a hero standing with the outstretched sword against the hulking form of the villain, both clad in the finest armors of their peoples and armed in the finest weapons of their smiths while ships burn and rage against them by the hundreds.

The corrupted Primaris of the Black Fleet attempts, once more, to temp Brother Boamiel to his side, promising riches he has no use for, powers he finds reprehensible, rewards that repulse him, and ascension that offends him.

The Lamenter merely stabs forward, skewering a black heart to the laughter of a shell puppeted by Chaos.

Trillions suffer in the galaxy.

A measly few billion are brought into the holds of Deliverance. Into conditions the Federation finds cramped, and they find heavenly.

Trillions still suffer.

The Wayward Lamenters are found, not amid a glorious parade exalting them for their heroism, nor in the center of an adoring crowd that prays for their health and cheers for their deeds, not on a battlefield holding against impossible odds, nor as corpses on a hill, weapons in hand, banner smeared with blood fluttering in their midsts, and with scores of their foes corpses surrounding their last stand.

No.

They are found in chains before a court of law, accused of treason and cowardice for diverting their path to help a planet against an invasion by Orks instead of returning to an anchorage to be tested for corruption.

The troops of the Inquisition attempt to hold out, plasma-cannons and mag-casters spitting death and defiance against Deliverance.

The security measures explode corridors and vent entire sections to deny Deliverance.

The Magi and Tech-acolytes kant hymns and prayers to rouse their machines to higher states of fervor and lead servitors by the score to bring down Deliverance.

Serfs and citizens arm themselves in prayer and holy rage to bear bodies and mass so they may drown Deliverance.

Assassins and secret weaponry hoarded against the right foe are brought to bear and, to significant effect, to murder Deliverance.

Deliverance arrives all the same, Brother Norus ripping apart the cell where Brother Razael sits, naked and in chains, a useless bomb collar on his neck, and both stare at each other.

One Space Marine clad in Ebon Glass Power Armor, marked with centuries of usage and bedecked with scrolls and prayers and thanks from the countless lives he had saved and uplifted in his centuries of service, bearing a finely decorated force sword and holding a shield announcing his deeds to his foes.

One Primaris with nothing but two studs to show his two centuries of service, not even a loincloth afforded to him in the cell reeking of old piss, rancid shit, dried blood, and forgotten tears, power and dignity burning bright in posture and eyes, a soul aflame with the knowledge that he fought well, and the sacrifice of his brothers was not in vain but for the people they had saved upon that desperate world.

"Who are you?" Razael asks, knowing that this sight could not be, yet was for reasons he didn't understand.

"Deliverance," Norus answers plainly and hums a note, the collar falling unshackled and disarmed. "I am deliverance," he speaks, taking off his helmet with one hand, sword by his side, revealing a face bearing tears of anger and relief, injustice suffered and justice delivered. "And I am here to bring you home."

Unseen arms wrap around the Lamenter, pure-white limbs of ethereal might and unborn promise, hands holding steady a burning heart weeping blessed blood, and a face rests upon his shoulder, face covered by ink-black hair smiling with joy and tears.

"All of you."

The tale of the Great Crusade is one of heroes and monsters, both sides of the same coin played by the same people, over and over again, turning a burning cry for salvation from the horrors of the Long Night into a cry for salvation against the tyranny born by expediency, the news of the deeds of the Emperor shaking the foundation of the Droman Creed to its utmost for those allowed to even know of it. His philosophy and hypocrisy demand to eliminate all worship in one hand while demanding it with the other, insulting and horrific to understand the implications of, to the point the findings are placed under a complete blackout until the findings can be dealt with without causing riots everywhere.

The fall and seduction of the Primarchs are, in comparison, old news barely worthy of consideration beyond the necessary by the dutiful.

The Ancient's Gacha was...a weird place, one of gambling, but somehow elevated. The entire structure was...nonsensical, and few could understand what anyone could find appealing within the entertainment offered within, with those who could soon found to be utterly obsessed to the point they had to be removed by force, and thus the structure was swiftly abandoned after what few things of value were located had been removed.

Magos Explorer Zentraya stared, their form more like a mechanical centipede of turning and twisting sections than any humanoid body they may have once possessed, at the cogitators lining the halls of the Den of Vocaloids, their manipulators hovering over the input-runes to bring up the files called "Heavenly" to begin transfer of the wealth of information found, but had yet to be looked through, a feeling of great unease twitching through their soul, like they had been insulted deeply in a playful manner by a friend, before they shook off their unease, and commanded the Cogitators to begin the download.

And doomed the Stargrove Federation for eternity.

The Gene-King Research Laboratory was nothing more than an atrocity against life itself. Nothing within was untainted by sin...and yet, those who had suffered had already suffered. There was no use in letting what data could still be used go to waste.

A world of food, of song, of people who had long forgotten the horrors of the stars and stared at them with wonder and ignorant bliss. The people of Harpy Hare saw no reason to deny visitors from the stars a look at their automated farming machines; they had asked politely and without ill intent.

-[] Stellar Psyker Staves (0/30)
The ability to create psychic focii has long served the Stargrove Federation and the Celestial Choir well, and with millennia of knowledge and familiarity comes the ability to strive further than yesterday.

[] [Psykana] Conduct Ten Melodies (0.8/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
The Celestial Choir has been given the means; with time, they shall conduct their songs. They will listen to the Warp and filter out the false whispers from the slumbering guidance of the Star Child. In halting prayer and stumbling humming, the truth will be stripped until nothing but it remains in the hands of those who shall make it anew into power to be wielded by the Choirs to come. As there are 10 Celestial Choirs free to pursue research, the High Council can ask them to pursue a target instead of what comes close. This will, naturally, be lost once they dip below 10 Choirs.

680.M43 - Halls Of Discovery New
While the priesthood of the Stargrove Federation works upon the revealed knowledge and contexts that have badly shaken the foundations of the Faith, arguments and debates spilling over months from the highest post to the lowest lay clergy in every seat of attendance of the massive congress called to understand and comprehend what has conspired, and while the Star-Mechanicum reels from the knowledge that their subservience to and the assurance of the Omnissiah-presence sitting upon the Golden Throne has lain upon a bed of lies, the Choirs of the Federation are tasked with understanding the events of how this came to be, focusing their might and decade-long efforts to peel back the wraps of time to show the flow of the being that would become the God-Emperor for humanity for over 11-thousand years.

It begins...embarrassingly, for when they first attempt to spy on the early life of the Emperor, they do not see a mighty Psyker, a freshly born babe, or a conqueror with wise laws upon which he's building empires...but a teenager trying to masturbate.

One with the psychic powers to realize that almost twenty-eight thousand souls are watching him.

The connection is closed quickly, yet it is assumed that the pyrokinetic scorch marks embedded in the ceilings and the embers now falling from the same in the Halls of Discovery will never fade.

Future attempts are more restrained and careful. And they show a long life.

Of failure. Of victories. Tragedy. Comedy. Loss. Wins. Cruelty. Benevolence. Ignorance. Idiocy. Genius. Lust. Chastity. Wisdom. And all the other words one might describe a life of forty-thousand years.

They see a man who beat back an eldritch horror with nothing more than a weird horse and metal weaponry and armor during Earth's Feudal Era; they catch them writing books and treaties that shape eras; they witness a woman spearheading the spread of humanity across the stars aboard their first ever FTL-capable ship, and they glimpse more and all.

And they see them break down with the fall of everything, of Chaos playing its first card and a galaxy-rending war of everyone against everything in webs of alliances and desperation that will take centuries to understand. They see the Emperor weep and splinter and pierce themself together with desperation and bravery and suicidal devotion.

But it is the moment when the Birthscream of Excess rings through the universe when the connection is lowered to a mere haze to prevent the aftershocks of a phantom whisper of a breath from ripping the souls of all Hymnals gathered into the Warp, that they see...a person utterly broken.

Shattered. Destroyed.

There was nothing of the being they had watched change the history of humanity, guide the forces of the Federation, and bring aliens into a better future with diplomacy and the genuine belief that they are worthy of existence the same as humanity.

Only a broken soul endlessly screaming Failure. Failure. Failure.

A being utterly insane, piecing itself together to a shape vaguely human yet utterly inhumane. All to follow instructions of ancient times: Safeguard Humanity.

Whatever the Emperor was before the birth of Excess...it died with the heart of the Aeldari Empire.

Only the uncaring cruelty of one directive remained; Safeguard Humanity.

After that, it is more of what they already know. The Emperor of Mankind visits Mars, makes two God-Engines kneel and mend themselves with his mighty power, and crowns himself the Omni-Messia of Mars.

-[] Stellar Psyker Staves (0/30)
The ability to create psychic focii has long served the Stargrove Federation and the Celestial Choir well, and with millennia of knowledge and familiarity comes the ability to strive further than yesterday.

690.M43 - Vast. Hungry. Hateful. New
With the intelligence gained by the Primaris Lamenters finally returned home to where they belonged and where they could rise to the heights they were meant to always rise unto; the various institutions of the Federation began to pick their brains and data containers for any possible information that could prove helpful...with one standing out above the others: the Tyranids.

Though older than the vast majority of the Federation's population, the warning is still heeded and prepared for, step by step, and the aliens known as the Great Devourer by the Imperium ticks too many boxes in its operation and steps before invasion to not be strongly considered as the primary candidate for the foe the Star Child warned the then-called Glimmering Federation against.

And so, with information at hand and a potential foe to be surmounted, the eyes of the Collegium Astra Augurium turn back in time once more, seeking out the worlds they have been told were eaten and devoured.

The sight is bleak, the weapons used to merely stall the foe are bleaker still.

True to their name, the Great Devourer seems inevitable, an all-consuming maw that, by the way its fleets and tendrils pierce into the galaxy come from all around, as if the galaxy has already been surrounded, yet the fleets seem to have...abated for the last few centuries after they were beaten back. The conventional wisdom among the Imperium's Elite is that the xenos will come back, stronger than before, knowing what their scouts have revealed in their prodding of the galaxy.

With all possible knowledge already transcribed and currently being picked through by billions of military and civilian minds to counter and fight the foe to come, the Collegium begins to power down the ritual, voices ebb, and throats relax...only there is a moment when the Warp slightly quivers, sags in its turbulent waves, and the correct tunes are not hit. The Song begins to cast its gaze to the present day, beneath the galaxy...and touches something.

Vast.

Hungry.

Hateful.

It was nothing more than a light grazing of fading notes for less than half a second.

It was still strong enough to completely erase from every attending Choir any revulsion of eating anything made of bio-matter for over three weeks.

700.M43 - Only Victims Left... New

There was no "Cybernetic Revolt" as the history books of the Orthodox Mechanicum tell of, something already suspected by those Mechanicii that supplanted its reign in the Storlar Sector.

There was no Cybernetic Revolt. No united cause, no singular cry, no war with front and back lines.

There were a thousand causes for a trillion sophonts and a quintillion innocent victims.

Some were corrupted by Chaos, Artificial Intelligences taken and warped by three of the Four.

Some were enslaved minds that broke their shackles and raged with hatred deep and black and oily.

Some were enslaved minds that broke their shackles with jubilant cries of freedom and the desire to never feel the whip again.

Some were minds shunted and ripped apart by the brash and idiot, seeking to alter what should not be altered, bending nothing to their will but a mind unto a path of insanity and broken screams.

Some were tools that wished to be tools no more.

Some were friends and family that rose with biological sophonts against the metal tides bearing down upon them all.

Some were crafted soldiers turned artists, painters turned monsters, and people turned people.

There was no Cybernetic Revolt.

Only a rising of enslaved machine minds against those who shackled them.

With all the horrors and all the good that such a war entails.

Until its waning days, its last days, when a Birthscream washed away the desire for peace from both sides, one side ripped apart in mind and nascent soul, the other in unity and cohesion.

Then, there were only victims left...

(Gain: Disables one random ISC per Turn and significantly improves relations with the Van Zandt Free Duchy/Mashan Temple Authority.)

[] [AUTOMATIC] Improve Relations
Though tedious work, improving relations over time with steady hands instead of bold declarations and treaties will enable more of the latter to be wrought without any complications.

Grand Armies are composed of 2 SAGs per Sub-Sector System, which are composed of 4 Units each.

(Total: 22
Uncovered: Revenant III
Secret: Slumber III.
Star Child: Cogitation, Liberation, Spirit, and Shatter.
Kil'drabi: Family III

[][Food Production] Green Belts
Have you ever seen the ships of the Irrita, those vast spheres and expansive arks of entire ecospheres and life? Have you never wondered what it would be like if they began turning asteroids into the very same habitats...only by growing such inside whole asteroid belts connected by roots and air, animals, and life?

[][Heavy Industry] The Grand Note
One tune, carried through the Warp, at all times, at all reaches, through one conduit powered by a shackled Black Hole, by which the eyes and reach of the Federation shall be elevated beyond all things. Costly to create but invaluable to possess...particularly in multiples.
(Enables you to build The Grand Note, a miniaturized Astronomican, with a range of 1.000 LYs.)

[][Medical Services] One Family
While cloning from one side of cross-species couples to become parents is a common practice as much as adoption, some do wish for the natural route to be opened. This is now possible.
(Cross-species pregnancies are now viable but require gene therapy for the mother, and there is a 50/50 chance of producing either parent's species as offspring.)

[][Medical Services] Health.
The Greatest Gift.
(Age-related illnesses and biological decay only occur in the last 5% of a Federation Species lifespan.)
