Fairly sure Utopia was after the Federation formed so not for a bit stillDoes anyone know when the Utopia Planitia Shipyards get founded so I can prepare my security team to protect me from their agents? Also, if the next ship we make is a science ship, what do we think the industry cost for it will be? Similar to the Stingray?
Because sometimes it is a good call, like if the yards where an option in the vote for the stingray then skipping the yards for the phase cannon would be the correct choice given how much of an upgrade the phase cannons are to the stingray. I do wish we knew what we were building next because that helps with picking options.
I certainly hope so, as the Constitutions were designed and launched some time in the 23rd century - quite a respectable number of decades away from the time period covered in Star Trek: Enterprise, our current focus. What ended up convincing me is the fact we will probably have at least one more ship before the Constitution-Class (Enterprise),
You are completely right, I don't know where I pulled Constitution from. Especially since Archer commands Enterprise NX-01, with NX LITERALLY being the ship class, and in the name.I certainly hope so, as the Constitutions were designed and launched some time in the 23rd century - quite a respectable number of decades away from the time period covered in Star Trek: Enterprise, our current focus.
Unless we're getting caught in a time travel episode, which would be just freakin' typical.

Speaking of the NX, can we get a better name for the class than that? Yorktown maybe? (I know the Doylist reason the ship was called Enterprise because of the nuclear carrier Enterprise, first of its kind worldwide, but naming it after the class that Enterprise was a part of in WW2 feels better to me.)
I think it was actually named after the Space Shuttle in universe. (Which is funny because the Space Shuttle was named after Kirk's enterprise IRL.)You are completely right, I don't know where I pulled Constitution from. Was it really? I could have sworn I read somewhere it was named after the carrier, but naming it after a scientific achievement instead of a military one makes far more sense for Star Trek.It was named after the space shuttle, which is why the second one was named Columbia.
The Gagarin-Class, after the first man to enter space.I think it was actually named after the Space Shuttle in universe. (Which is funny because the Space Shuttle was named after Kirk's enterprise IRL.)
Pioneer class after the Space Probe? Or after a famous explorer Magellan, or Hanno or something?
According to Sayle, that's not actually true.
I personally would have almost always voted for the tech option if it was, but since we can't go super wild with it, we should take advanced technology sparingly. That way with the increased industry we have, we can start rolling out multiple ship classes or bigger production runs of one type.
But since this does not seem to be Warp 5 tech my interest is a bit lower to have that for the next ship.
If we were going to use a Soviet name I'd rather have Korolev.
Korolev is a great choice too, I think I prefer Gagarin over him, but if it ended up being the Korolev-Class I would be happy with that too.If we were going to use a Soviet name I'd rather have Korolev.
