Why would we do that when the Chinese proto-republicans are right there. On top of the fact that we're a social-and-radical republic with anti-monarchist revolutionary liberals as our mainstream right wing-most party. Heck, even if the socdems are around again they'll be more likely to back the proto-republicans.

Edit2: So something of note, Germany's been stockpiling arms and ammunition over the fall in preparation of a summer offensive. All that stuff has an expiry date, and with no war on the horizon, it's going to go to waste. We can crate it all up, load it on ships, and sail it to China, ready-to-use (along with any volunteers who're more interested in continuing the struggle than entering civilian life).

You think the Chinese peasants care for a monarch from a foreign, "invader" dynasty (Qing dynasty is Manchu)? This Constitutional Empire movement could very well radicalize into republicanism with the Entente backing Qing imperial conservative if we play our cards right, but I don't think this "martyr" approach is productive towards that
