Just going to point out that Kurenai has a reputation as a hard-drinking party animal, and her best friend is Anko.
So life might get a little interesting.

Oh yeah, if Anko hangs out with Kurenai and her genin here that could affect the team as well.

Sakura's skill set is pretty ideal for learning from Kurenai, so if Anko at some point wants to help corrupt teach a young kunoichi, then Hinata might be more likely.

.......I'm not sure if I should laugh, cry, or shriek in terror.

And poor Shino is in the middle of all this.

"Am I the only one who thinks that was kind of suspicious?" Hisana asked, moments after their teacher had left. Privately, she was somewhat amused by the fact that Kakashi had bothered even less in this timeline than in the original. The reveal of Kakashi's sharingan should be less of a surprise this time, not coming in battle and with another Uchiha out there. Now all Hisana had to do was get them started on looking.

"He did just kind of show up and leave." Sasuke said.

"What's the big deal with making us wait for three hours and not even coming himself?" Naruto grumbled.

"There's probably some meaning behind that we're meant to figure out, or a test or something. Or maybe he's just a dick. I think I've heard the name 'Kakashi' somewhere before - we should start with the old bingo books we stashed away." Hisana said, and Sasuke nodded.

"What're bingo books?" Naruto asked, a confused look on his face.

"They're lists of powerful enemies of the village. The Uchiha kept a bunch of captured ones around, and since me and Sasuke inherited everything..." Hisana said.

"You really think that guy is powerful enough to be on one?" Sasuke asked.

"Yeah, he didn't even dodge my trap." Naruto added.

"It's a place to start, at least." Hisana said, and they were off. It was somehow still raining, and the sheer strength of the downpour jogged Hisana's memory. It hadn't rained in canon, which said interesting things about either the nature of the universe, or the impact other "transmigrants" had had on the world around them. She'd been in enough danger from that one guy with the trenchcoat and katana - and looking back at that, his origin seemed somewhat obvious.

Team Seven were halfway to the Uchiha compound when Hisana sensed an already familiar chakra signature. It was only for a moment, but she had definitely sensed Kakashi behind her. Silently, she waited for a corner and managed to get a look behind her with the Sharingan, seeing a thin spectre of silver chakra moving across the rooftops. Gotcha, she thought, though she deactivated her dojutsu and made no indication that she knew they were being followed.

As soon as they were momentarily obscured, Hisana made the signs for 'concealed pursuer' and nodded behind her. She'd drilled the two of them on Konoha signs even more intensely than the academy had; and that had been almost a solid term of learning. She shifted course, heading towards a nearby training ground and the other members of Team Seven followed her.

Hisana hadn't sensed any chakra signatures there, and she didn't want to start a fight around civilians or otherwise unsuspecting fellow ninja. Team Seven leapt into the clearing, rushing into action in mid. Hisana and Sasuke's eyes were red and black pinwheels in the space between heartbeats, and it was not long after that Hisana had a sword at her waist and Naruto had dozens of clones to cover every route of escape.

Kakashi was moving, but clearly not at his full speed. Hisana blurred forward, combining shushin with a perfectly executed Iaido strike. Which proceeded to cut a perfectly innocent log in half; but it did get Kakashi into Naruto's line of fire.

"WIND RELEASE: GREAT BREAKTHROUGH!" Came from dozens of mouths, and with direction from Sasuke Naruto unleashed wind-based hell on the training ground. No log this time, and just outside the blast radius stood Kakashi, putting a book back in his pocket.

With the shout of a nonsense codeword, Team Seven shifted into a combination ninjutsu attack. Kakashi simply stood there; not making a move until Team Seven made theirs. Hisana and Sasuke unleashed a pair of oversized Grand Fireballs, only to have the Naruto clones once again fire off a barrage of wind ninjutsu. The resulting explosion was massive, but it didn't matter because Kakashi was something near-instantly within their formation.

He engaged in some lazy-looking hand to hand combat with Sasuke, using the bare minimum to effort to block his rapid attacks. Hisana came to the aid of her brother, her sword emitting crimson chakra as she attacked Kakashi. He didn't attempt to block or redirect her attacks, simply dodging each and every one of them.

"What is it with you, asshole!" Shouted Naruto as he and his clones came to the fight; working together with remarkable coordination to try and set up the jonin for the rest of Team Seven.

"Hey now, I'm the one who's being attacked here." Kakashi said, popping another Naruto clone. Hisana unleashed a dozen blades of wind at him; but the jonin seemed to step between them. One impacted a Naruto clone, dispelling it.

What it didn't dispel was the other nearby clone, which somehow managed to land a punch to Kakashi's back. The jonin promptly disappeared in a puff of smoke. Team Seven had pretty much destroyed an entire training ground, just to take down a single shadow clone. Sasuke and Hisana were puffing and out of breath, though naruto was fine as always. Again, small blond terminator.

"I - puff - can't believe this asshole. How lazy do they get?" Hisana asked, unsealing two water bottles and food pills. She tossed one of each to Sasuke, and they were back on their feet in a few minutes.

"Okay, I can seem him in that bingo-thing now sis." Naruto said, looking at the devastated training ground. He more than any of them understood the difference between a shadow clone and the real thing.

"No kidding. We're only five minutes from home, so we better press on before he decides to come back for another round." Sasuke said, and Hisana nodded in agreement. Team Seven made it back to their house in the Uchiha compound, and into the vault below. It needed a Sharingan to unlock, as did the sealing scrolls in there, but Hisana knew it wasn't secure. That's why the most sensitive items never left her person.

They gathered a bunch of relatively recent foreign bingo books and set to work, only to solve their puzzle almost immediately. After the death of the Fourth Hokage, it seemed every non-allied village had moved Kakashi up to the top of the Konoha portion of their bingo books. Including the enormous bounty on his intact Sharingan.

"Well, we certainly know why he's our jonin sensei now." Hisana said, trying to lighten the mood and hoping that Sasuke wouldn't explode.

"How did he - did he steal-" Sasuke began, only for Hisana to cut him off.

"It says here it was given to him as the last wish of a dying comrade. Not exactly stealing." Hisana said.

"As always, you're right. I just..." Sasuke finished, not quite sure what to say.

"It's understandable. But let's just have lunch and chill for a while, since he's obviously the real deal, yeah?" Hisana asked, and got a murmured agreement and an enthusiastic one from Naruto. After closing the vault back up, they headed up to the ground floor to eat lunch and finally relax. What they found was Kakashi sitting on their couch, snacking on a bag of chips without any visible movement of his mask.

"Hey kids. No need for violence now, I'm just here to tell you that you all passed the genin exam." Kakashi said, noticing their shift into combat stances.

"Eh? Didn't we pass it at the Academy?" Naruto asked, perplexed.

"That's just an exam to test if you have the potential to become a genin - jonin senseis like myself can issue whatever additional test they like. I had a whole teamwork test ready to go too, but your response to the Mizuki incident forced me to make changes, you see. Anyway, still come to training ground six tomorrow, but since you passed no need to bring your mission stuff. Also, what's for lunch?" Kakashi finished, looking pointedly at Hisana.

"You know, that's a pretty sexist assumption on your part there sensei." Hisana said.

"Well I wouldn't want to hurt my poor genins' feelings, but could you see me eating Naruto or Sasuke's cooking?" Kakashi asked, to shouts of indignation from both parties.

"Fair enough, sensei, fair enough." Hisana said, eliciting looks of betrayal from her teammates. Partway through lunch, Kakashi turned to them with a serious look on what little was visible of his face.

"So, my adorable minions, what's your deadliest weakness? Hisana, you're up first." Kakashi asked, somehow still eating without revealing his face.

We should give an honest answer, I think - this probably determines what he puts us to work on, as a teacher.

It's gotta be our defenses in general, right? We're a glass cannon, even more so than the usual for ninja. If we're going to be relying on just dodging to avoid attacks, then, well... we saw the limits of that, during the Academy Battle.

[x] My defenses in general aren't on par with my offence, and in some situations a first strike isn't good enough.

Yep. Can't skimp on defense if we want to be able to work alone. Or in general.
