Beats me, I've never written anything longer than a school essay. Personally if I had to write this quest I'd have capped the number of heroes at 5 or something and made the voters send one to work in another city if we wanted a new one. Like a reserve team in football. But more power to those capable of writing big casts.

Also, for those wanting a Rose emblem, I decided to combine "Rose" with my "Sun symbol in Alchemy/Astrology" suggestion:
I remembered someone thinking blue was important for some reason, so I made two of the thorns blue, the other silver for Nora and a little bit of moon symbolism. The petals are coloured Rose Gold, incidentally.
Bonus: it calls back to Nora's "Rose Compass" emblem.
We could use it as a sub-team flag for merchI'd love to have this on a flag because it looks so good, but my "Hero symbols must be one or two colors only" is making me reject it despite how nice it looks.

I love this. I'm thinking something like a wreath of golden roses, sort of like this one:
Except minus a little of the frippery (those leaves that are only sketched in filigree would go, for instance), and only the flowers are gold and the leaves, thorns, etc. are silver instead. To represent how Valiant Silver is the root and origin, and EXCEED-BEYOND is the flower of her effort. Keeps it to two contrasting colors so it's relatively clean and simple, and the symbolism works on multiple levels.

It's kinda saying "hey we found someone to be Nora Kim 2.0". I mean, yes, she is a direct successor, but it's just way too tied up with the parallels and that kind of overwhelms everything else. So I think I would prefer a name with a bit more separation.
(And if Sapphire or Emerald wins we get to sneak in a Pokemon joke)

It makes everything about being her successor. I want Ellie to have her own identity instead of perpetually existing in the shadow of her predecessor, because she's already going to get enough of that as is.
And it's not like "she's Valiant Silver's successor" is something that we need to expend particular effort into making clear.

I frankly don't give a shit about Silvio's name theft. It's an incredibly cringe name anyway, the correct move is to deride it for the tasteless jape it is, and then ignore it and move on.
So no, I don't see why we need to factor that in to our decision making or go so hard on "reclaiming" the name. That's already giving their attempt more legitimacy than it deserves, which is none.

Id rather have Noelle own up to being Valiant Silver successor by going with Gold especially after the bonding the 2 had in Kintsugi and the Slander VS name is getting from crusade.
For me its a loud declaration that JU believes in VS and she is a Hero.

except with certain ones, I'm fairly neutral with a lot of the names, including Gold and Sapphire, of which I'm fine with either one.
Also @Arcus I got the impression the bodysuit's the base color rather than the armor itself (based on Nora's artwork on the frontpage) personally, so Gold armor's sorta alright to me unless I'm wrong. I'm still mulling over whether I want Red Ranger tho.

This chapter hit hard, I started tearing up in the middle. Damn, the Rebound is awful. Also, Nora's alive?? (Is Mona the only one who doesn't have childhood trauma?)
Also, this makes me think Nora's Fish. I mean, I'm probably wrong, but that was my knee-jerk reaction to this line.
Does this mean EXCEED-BEYOND was always meant to be used by two people? And that not doing so fucked up Nora?
I think the armor would be better suited to have gold accents instead of being wholly gold, it feels a little too gaudy for Ellie.
I mean thats what it means for armor to be gold, the bodysuit is the main Color atleast thats how Noras image presented it.
Also Nora was talking about her Algernon power not frying her brain thanks to being connected to Noelle. With her figuring out Algernons needs to somehow share the burden of using the power with a partner to use it safely.
