The best comics are one part shonen battle series and one part soap opera, which is why Batgirl (2000) is the greatest run of all time.
 
I never meant it as a complaint! Lord knows one of my favorite shows was Jane The Virgin, which, while being a comedic, tongue-in-cheek take on the telenovela... was still a damn telenovela.

Golden Rose is cool as a symbol.
Would still like a name that is not a color though. Always wanted a Super Sentai to have more non color names

Random question: Is there a known correlation between a metahuman awakening and a stressful situation? Adrenaline and the fight/flight response? Because I have to assume there are at least a few "awoke during a disaster or dark moment", even if there are probably also plenty of ones where nothing was happening and them BOOM! your entire body is made of diamond or whatever.

No, the process is always slow. Powers don't just pop like that unless you're born with them.

Apiary's Fill-in is going to get dark.
 
To make a case for my suggestion of Valiant Electrum again: electrum is the alloy of silver and gold. The user of the EXCEED-BEYOND armor was always going to be 'silver' by way of 'gold' in that they'd have DNA from Valiant Silver infused into them using Goldnine, but in this case Noelle has also received a direct inheritance of Valiant Silver's role while in a golden field.
 
so @Bitterman important question: is Noelle's new side effect gonna affect anything mechanic/narrative-wise on our future Fill-in Issue votes? I initially thought it might enable us to vote 2 before writing that off since having 2 extra might give narrative bloat and gives you the same problem of having too many things in one turn.

Nothing mechanic. I agree two fill-ins is too many. Might change some stuff for flavor.
 
Did Fill-Ins always exist in the plans, but were just going to be purely reader-facing lore dumps, and only became Mona's psychic flashbacks after the fateful side effect roll, or did you add them in specifically because of that roll?

They were always going to be there. The Mona roll accelerated some plans—the reason E-B gives psychic field sensitivity was to enable some stuff that Mona got to first. Notably, EXCEED! wouldn't have been an option originally.

So what I'm hearing is... next psychic dream Fill-In, Mona and Ellie are going to have shared dreams?

Also, for those wanting a Rose emblem, I decided to combine "Rose" with my "Sun symbol in Alchemy/Astrology" suggestion:

I remembered someone thinking blue was important for some reason, so I made two of the thorns blue, the other silver for Nora and a little bit of moon symbolism. The petals are coloured Rose Gold, incidentally. :p

Bonus: it calls back to Nora's "Rose Compass" emblem.

I'd love to have this on a flag because it looks so good, but my "Hero symbols must be one or two colors only" is making me reject it despite how nice it looks. :cry:

Alright Updated my Plan. A Golden Rose with Thorns does fit noelle more. While making it a Crescent Moon makes it cleared what Astrological object the Silver part is.

As for Color scheme still going for Red with Gold Armor ala Ranger Battalizer.
 
What vibe are y'all feeling for John and Noelle's first training? Ops for both? Ops for John, Hit for Noelle? Group Rep training to counteract the effect of Crusade?
