The Thanus strategy, a masterclass of meme tactics.
Yea think I'll drop this here. I agree with others about not really understanding what's going on or the significance of particular events, and the plodding nature of the story really just being a lot for spell porn it seems
Wasn't there something about them all being wealthier than the last? Did you remove it because it affected Alchemist / Black Canary relationship too objectively?"Her average relationship lasts about seven weeks. The time between those relationships would be as low as four days, but never any longer than eight. Half the time her new boyfriend was a friend of her old one, or else was usually featured in a picture at an event or party she and her former boyfriend had attended. She's slowed down a lot since she joined the Justice League full time though. Now she just complains a lot about how there aren't any good men while her girlfriends all agree with her and tell her them boys just don't know what they're missing." He was grinning as he talked, so she might not know where he was going with this but he at least thought it was funny.
I really do love how cheesy names of these rooms would look to players playing a computer game or reading the story casually. If you really think of this as someone's journey of divinity; filled with those before who tried before and failed, maddened, swearing to serve as they try to kill you, filled with things know your deepest fears-secrets and assorted horrors; then they sound a lot more appropriate and horrifying.
I'm not, I love the story.Alright. Hope you find something more to your taste! Have a wonderful day

Everything looks lame and overdone in our information age out of overexposure. You really need immersion to really get the nuances.
While your point is certainly correct that it was too hostile, at the same time her being implied as a gold-digger was the justification of calling her a "not a good woman". Now it looks like he call her that just because she couldn't keep a relationship. It was cleaned up a little bit from when he originally implied that she was running out of time before even the wealthy boy-toys wouldn't find her interesting. It was received poorly for being -too- hostile. Toned back a bit, and it sounds closer to what you might expect from an unhappy teenager.
For people not understanding, this is literally just a dungeon crawl.
There's story elements that flavor things, but on the whole, treat this whole experience as "Alchemist takes teenager into dungeon made of evil."
well to me she got what she had coming projecting her shit onto him isn't cool and makes her really shitty at her job she was doingIt was cleaned up a little bit from when he originally implied that she was running out of time before even the wealthy boy-toys wouldn't find her interesting. It's still a gamer fic, so I wouldn't expect those elements to vanish entirely.I'm hoping the story gets interesting again with this finally done.
I think it's more, that as it levels up she has to think of it less, to the point it's the same realm of say throwing a punch. So, Jinx is also running with a "press mental button, 'cast' spell" mechanic while she is in the party?
Well yeah, but from "throw them at the dragon until it levels a bunch" just feels like she spamming it to grind the numbers.I think it's more, that as it levels up she has to think of it less, to the point it's the same realm of say throwing a punch.
But there's never the impression that she's running on a "press mental button to cast spell" type mechanic. She learned the basics of the spell down that it's no longer "Twist the Energy here. Anchor it there. Tie this end off and leave that one dangling. Pray to the forces of darkness." It's just, *Flare*.Well yeah, but from "throw them at the dragon until it levels a bunch" just feels like she spamming it to grind the numbers.
Ngl of Alchemist gets together with any character I hope it's Jinx. They just have good chemistry imo. The main problem is the whole "remembered their previous life" thing for alchemist though….
This goes from one extreme to the other.I would rather he get with an age-appropriate character like Diana of Themyscira, personally. If he gets with anyone at all.
The Martian probably. Atlanteans however are descended from humans, and may still have issues. And the only pure Kryptonian around is Superman, the ones on the team are both Kryptonian/Human/??? hybrids, and the human parts of them may or may not cause them issues as well.does that mean he could bring the martian, the atlantian, and the kyrptonian without problems?
Jinx had seen Alchemist turn into a dragon a few times. She even knew the spell to do it herself, though she'd yet to actually try it.
She'd been ready to kill him, and he's the one that's sorry.
How did she find someone like him in Gotham?
"...I don't want to be here." She admitted to him after several long moments of silence between them.
I would like to ask, could we have a list of Alchemist spells/abilities/weapons and what they do ?
Also, what does he plan to do after getting his own body back ? Just laying low and letting the heroes deal with things ?
It's much more interesting when you think of Jinx is a main character. This is her development arc, with Alchemist finally embracing his natural narrative role as the wise wizard in a teenage universe. I'm not sure if the parallels to classic story tropes are intentional though.I get that, it's just not particularly engaging and dragged on for a bit too long.
I'm hoping the story gets interesting again with this finally done.
