With all this Pokemon talk I decided to just make this. Any suggestions for improvements?

Pokemon(?): Alchemist

Type: Dragon Ghost

Gender Ratio: 100% Male

Weight: Varies

Height: Varies

Catch Rate: 0

Leveling Rate: Slow

Egg Group: Unkown, Possibly Dragon or Human-Like

Alchemist the Eldritch Pokemon(?) is a Extra Dimensional Pokemon(?) capable of sentient thought and human speach. It is capable of advanced tool usage and construction. It is seen using a set of Black Armor and Weapons that matches their human or draconic forms when in combat.

Ability: Holmcross Remnants

Can be Treated as either a Mono Steel Type, a Dragon Steel type or a Ghost Steel type Pokémon depending on the situation. This effectively gives them immunity to Posion, Normal, Fighting, and Ghost type moves.

Items:

Ebony Armor:

Slight chance for Defense and Special Defense to increase by +1 at the start of battle. Has a chance to protect against status effects.

Ringed Knight Sword:

Slight chance for Attack and Special Attack to increase by +1 at the start of battle, Has a chance to apply any status effect on enemy Pokemon.

No mention of his absolutely busted (by Pokémon standards) elemental magic? I mean, his basic breath attack is starfire and he's more eldritch than the unknown, and even spawns them when he writes things(at least in the non-canon spin off)

Now that Alchemist is officially a Dragon (with a capital D), he should consider looking into... say.

Breath of Fire. Or perhaps more interestingly, Breath of Fire III.

...muahahahahahaa HAHAHA

Because why not just buy a whole range of mix-and-match dragon genes.

Could he go back to Skyrim during the Dragon Break and absorb all the dragon souls, preferably in a soul trap of some sort, so he can cleanse them of their evil and sapience and absorb their power without the attendant voices? Remember, the Dragonborn is now just a civilian, so there's nobody to stop Alduin.

That might piss off Akatosh a bit, but given he saved the murderous asshole Dragonborn, who cares what he wants?

Does he really want to mess with his dragon form though? I thought Void was the one that was supposed to match his soul best or some such, at least I think that was the spell's description?

Plus, would a Void dragon even *have* genes to be messed with? I thought they were closer to like, sapient pieces of the outer dark with the concept of Dragon bound into their nature more than beings of flesh and blood true?
Not that upgrading his dragon form isn't a fun idea, there's things like the spellscribed template after all, but I'm not sure trying to mix in dragon species that don't fit into the Void aspect won't… work out super well.

There are other types of space aspected dragons in Dnd, but they're rather rare, especially the planetary or larger scale ones whose name I'm forgetting.

That might piss off Akatosh a bit

Not to mention it'll piss off Bahamut and Tiamat, who lost a large chunk of their multiversal territory to a dragon-devouring Gamer.

The two gods sought revenge on Terra-chan for her Gamer's action, and not even Terra-chan wants to draw their ire for a second time.

P.S.
Don't eat souls, you'll make Dee-Dee feel sad.

DEATH: (sad puppy eyes)
Alchemist: *sighs* "...Fine, I won't devour dragon souls..."
DEATH: ❤️❤️❤️

Basically this, yes. Eating souls is bad mkay?
Plus… what do they really add to his skills and/or power? Divine words? He can do the eldritch equivalent and invoke the life equation, plus magic makes it barely if at all needed. Weird soul nomming powers? See above. Turning your cultists into sorta undead servants? Why would he need that when he can just build constructs and/or hire people or do many much better things to make them temp immortals.

Edit: ah yes, rule 22: otherwise known as "don't pull a Karsus okay?" XD

Dragon Souls are literal fragments of the divine soul of Akatosh. That thing has been around for a while and is probably just riddled with parasites and wyrms.
What about a different form of dragon souls? Given the ability to eat materia and various shards, there's a similar bit that's both source of magic and dragon soul. So, could there be a benefit to going to The Legend of Dragoon and aquiring some dragon soul flavored rock snacks?

If he showed up at the right time, there's even one just sitting around at a skeevy bazaar merchant's stall. As of the start of the game, 3 of the 8 known spirits are in enemy hands (Jade, Violet, Blue-Sea), 2 with experienced wielders (Dark and White-Silver...the latter of which is basically a ghost, so who knows how much of a threat she could actually be), one doesn't even exist yet, since its dragon is still alive and in prison, Red-Eye is a memento in Dart's pocket, and the Golden one is hanging out with the merchant who tries to charge a fortune for a water bottle.

There are some very powerful Breath Weapon Feats in the Draconomicon, along with other Breath Weapon Feats, and Classes to make idealized Dragons. Double range of breath weapon, maximize breath weapon, residual damage = to main attack breath weapon, increase recharge rate of breath weapon, etc.

If he's going full dragon he should definitely be taking some Dragon Feats/Perks. Greater One Strike giving his main attack x4 dmg if it's the only attack he makes is hugely powerful.
Also, Improved Natural Attack to make those natural attacks stronger.

Also, 'consuming' dragon souls doesn't destroy them. They just become part of the Dragonborn until they die, whereupon they split off once more. It's more like they are captured and become a battery.

Entangling Exhalation (entangles those hit by the breath weapon that fail their saves) and Strafing Breath (take a double-move while using your breath weapon, and everything along the breath weapon's path gets the full brunt of it) are two of the best. One is a potent debuff, and the other massively increases the area you can affect. Here's a list of breath weapon feats, and here're the metabreath feats.

Also, anything that improves attacking and moving or spellcasting and moving, like Flyby Attack and Shot on the Run. Those would allow him to move and attack simultaneously. They're also prerequisites for some other good feats. Well, Flyby Attack is, anyway. And Flyby Attack can be used with both physical attacks and spellcasting.

Feeding them is something of a problem.

Sacrificing people to keep the flow of magic going, when Al has some perfectly good ex-nihilo generators? That seems... genuinely kind of evil. Like, worse than what Al has already done.

At least, that's what I recall thinking about the last Mana game I played, which was... on the Game Boy Advance.
I think in the original the sword is sealing the world's magic in a tree and as soon as the protagonist pulls it, it instantly transformed local animals into monsters and awoke all the sleeping evils. I believe you originally pick it up so you can cut a bush in your way, not to actually fight.

Tbh, I am more interested in reading about a shady government black op's no good very bad day, carried about by a very angry green lantern. Possibly including giving a certain red lantern cat to the girl as a therapy animal for shits and giggles.

You know, I'm very excited to see alchemist lose control to rage one of these days, just so we can all watch some deserving idiots die horribly.
The vampire Nazi's were a good start but… they didn't last long enough to be satisfying you know?

What's some gear that Alchemists could probably get really easy in a quick Quest or just straight up buy?

My thoughts are stuff like Scranton Reality Anchors to fuck up Imps and not being instantly gibbed in a Crisis event with how often earth and the universe gets rearranged.

Besides that maybe The One Ring? Isn't alchemist immune to even divine tier curses?

The Scranton Reality Anchors would probably interfere with Alchemist's abilities, too. He doesn't apply Piercing to everything he casts, after all.

I did debate the Ring of Isildur, actually, as an alternative means of getting around the struggle of an undead army but those it calls back from death retain their personalities and memories, just with added undying loyalty to the ring-bearer. It's quite a bit more evil than just making a mindless or fresh creature out of the leftovers of a corpse.

Doesn't the one ring scale off of how powerful you are? That's why the hobbits carried it and no one else?

That would probably be a big boost to alchemist if undefined like the Gungnir he has. And I don't think it hops to whoever is the strongest like the triforce of power does (could be wrong my knowledge of Lotr comes from the Lego game)

You know after thinking about it, DEXSTAR would make a fantastic therapy animal for children like Ace. He is intelligent enough to follow instructions, vicious enough to murder any would be kidnappers, and Powerful enough to deal with super powered idiots.

I really want to see this now.

None of the rings are cursed, exactly. They all grant power and magical aptitude.

The issue with them is that they are... extensions of Sauron's will. Through them, he can see and influence people. Eventually subsuming their will beneath his own.

When Sauron dies, so too do the rings of power.

The best alternative I can think of, mind you it's not one with any realistic chance of success, would involve coercing the shade of Celebrimbor to teach Alchemist how to forge such potent rings of his own.

That'd be adorable.

Or horrifying.

Adorifying.

Wasn't there a Blue Lantern corgi? That seems like a better choice than any sort of Red.

fake edit: Yes, but apparently all the panel scans of it that show up to a quick search are on Xitter, which is one of the sites I avoid in the name of mental hygiene.
