Prince Aladdin Quest (Disney Villains *Almost* Victorious)

With that said, are we, Ababwa, partially locked in terms of technology?
If you want to make huge technological leaps, you need something to use as the impetus for making such a leap. You're not "partially locked" in that you're stuck with using only what you can get hold of or period-appropriate tech. Get the right examples, items or specialists, and you can theoretically replicate other tech up to the level of New York or the Shadowlands. This will not be easy, or cheap. And magi-tech is possible, but the same issues apply.

That all in mind ... anyone have any ideas for recruitable Disney people with a penchant for inventing and whatnot? I'm drawing a blank from anything that isn't Gridlocked.

Closest I can think of is Audrey Ramirez from Atlantis, given she was among the more morally upstanding in Rourke's faction. Especially since she was only a very young adult and was a prized mechanic in a team of the best and brightest people that money could buy for their expedition team.

Fun fact, Mrs. Packard had over ten patents to her name and had worked with the likes of Bell, Edison, and Tesla.

What I found on Mrs. Packard,
"Developed Bornite Movable Cup Perkion Detector, 1903. Worked for Atwater-Kent 1904-1907. Helped develop Radak Type R-4 Regenerative Circuit and holds the sole patent for the Orthosonic Circuit. Worked for Magnavox 1907-1912. Developed AC-3-C Battery."

... fucking what?! Why does Rourke get the OP faction lol. I imagine in his "quest" he's receiving so many loyalty maluses that make his amazing tech and advisors much less immediately usable.

Yeah, she wasn't just the Comms officer, she probably designed and built most of the equipment they used; specialized stuff that only she could really work. It also explains how she was having that conversation with her friend from inside the sub.

Do Not Disturb (Canon)
Do Not Disturb

Hades was pacing, trying to remain calm as he spoke to those he gathered, "Look, I know we had a deal, and I'm sticking to that, honest. I freed you, you help me get one over the muscle-head, I take over Olympus, you get the Earth to roam, and we're all mostly happy."

Hades looked at the titans, "Thing is, my lovely flower bloom, thinks my boy Zag could use a sibling or three. And who am I to deny her, eh? But some people, who shall remain nameless," Hades glared at the titans as his voice turned harsh, "are being some real mood killers! So if you five could just rein it in... a... bit... Hold on?"

Hades quickly did a head count, got five, and then recounted only one of Lythos' heads.

"Friends, buddies, pals. Where is Pyros?"

The titans didn't answer verbally, but turned to look in a specific direction. Confused, Hades also looked.

Is that Mount Etna?

That's Mount Etna.

That's Mount ETNA!

Quick as a flash, Hades was there, trying to find the missing titan, and saw a melted hole still dripping with magma.

Hades moved.

Suddenly before the Lord of Fire, Hades, steadily growing redder, spoke with barely restrained anger, "Pyros, bubala. Why are you here?"

The titan of fire looked at the god of the dead, and spoke one word, "Typhon."

Hades registered the word, burning intensely red before abruptly shifting to blue. He seemed completely devoid of anger, "I see."

Hades then called upon his domain as Lord of All That Lies Beneath The Earth, expelling the titan and plugging the hole it had left with a single blast.

"IF THERE'S ONE THING MY MEATHEAD BROTHER DID RIGHT IT IS PUTTING TYPHON UNDER A ROCK! UNDER THIS ROCK! DO NOT DISTURB THIS ROCK! DO NOT FUCK WITH TYPHON! IF I CATCH YOU OR ANY OF YOUR BROTHERS COMING NEAR THIS MOUNTAIN AGAIN I WILL UNLEASH ALL THE ANGER, MALICE, AND HATRED OF ALL WHO DIED UPON YOUR ASSES!!!"

Hades continued to vent the blistering invective that had been building up since the titans' release, their actions causing no little stress for him as his bargain with them meant that he couldn't check them unless they really went of the rails. Such as trying to release Typhon.

Hades calmed down some, took a breath to try and calm some more. He'd go back to Mount Olympus, inform the other titans that Mount Etna was OFF LIMITS, if they hadn't heard his yelling already, and give Cerberus some belly rubs to try and relax.

As he left, Hades wondered if he should have the words "Do Not Disturb" imprinted on Mount Etna.

Ngl absolutely adored this. But also... didn't Typhon successfully escape?

Maybe Belle's father?

Not quite.
The volcano Titan has reappeared in spectacular fashion, bodily ejected from the peak of Mt Etna by a column of blue flame and accompanied by curses and threats. The word "Typhon" was heard at least once, and Chiron had paled mightily when he had heard that.
To make it a little clearer, once the Volcano Titan was ejected from Etna it beat a hasty retreat. Nothing else has emerged.
Take 5 XP for that absolutely accurate depiction of what Hades did.
Looks like Pyros was trying to dig Typhon out but Hades disagreed......violently. Which is probably the cause of his current clashes with the Titans. They think Typhon should be set free whereas Hades really doesn't want that to happen.

Not quite.

Or given the new canon nature of the Omake, Pyros has a want to dig him up. Luckily they're all on the less bright side so Hades can keep them occupied... unless they get distracted.

Oh that's a good one. The asylum or whatever he was placed in was nearby so, there's that... but couldn't that be Frollo's territory now? Eh, he coulda gotten away in the mass confusion.
He's not in the Asylum. He and Belle were both released from the basement by Chip, which is how Belle was there to try and calm Beast. What happened after Beast "died" and Frollo's men came through... well, we'll have to see won't we?

... and now I have the overwhelming urge to hire Maurice and Geppetto and get the two to make something together. Iirc Geppetto had a lot of fun clockwork devices he'd made by hand laying around.

[X] Plan: Keep Your Friends Close

Also, committing to spending my EXP on the next "Visit Jasmine" vote that makes it through. It's been at least half a year, distance makes the heart grow fonder, and after The Fiasco I am currently a firm believer in "if you want something done right" with regards to Agrabah.

Not a huge fan of the high cost of Golden Afternoon right now, but that's my only complaint with the plan.

I chose Cat's in the Cradle because I take a very methodical approach to building up militaries in the RTS games I play, which is why I did the swordsmen action last turn. We also have low martial, so I chose the action with better odds of success. Next turn I plan on doing both the Menagerie action and Aladdin's personal involving it. I like approaching objectives from converging angles so as so maximize odds of success/increase chances of synchronization.

We actually saw the downside of that last turn, since the low rolls on Stewardship and writing Jasmine combined to increase the Agrabah DCs. But that's a risk one has to take in CK2-style quests.

I was just curious because it's a action that has a upkeep cost and uses up one of the three turns.

Didn't know if there was a reason I had missed for going for night fighting soldiers.

It's mostly the beast enemies - leopard men from Africa, Shere Khan functions almost exclusively at night, Scar and his hyenas, etc. Also the thought of not being able to fight at night in general concerns me deeply.
We can still fight, just not as well.

I'm not adverse to getting it this turn versus the beast hunt, it's just as I said previously; tossing in the greenhouse cost+upkeep along with it was a no go for me.
