Prince Aladdin Quest (Disney Villains *Almost* Victorious)

Rival Report 1st Turn
Rival Report

South-West Africa

Lots of animals on the move from the interior of the African continent, reports of villages going missing.

South-East Africa

The great Savannahs seem to have erupted into some kind of animalistic civil war. Lions and Hyenas on one side, while the greater majority of prey animals and even some of the other predators have taken to attacking the felines and their spotted allies.

South-East Indian Sub-continent

From the South-east there are reports of large movements of apes and monkeys through the jungles of the sub-continent. As of right now no one seems to know what their goals are.

North-East Indian Sub-continent

As an inversion of the situation with the interior of Africa, the interior of India seems to have become a magnet for large numbers of animals, seemingly fleeing from north, south and east. There have not been as many reports of creatures from near Ababwa fleeing.

The Silk Road

But where the animals don't seem to be inclined to leave Ababwa, the Mongol tribesmen are in a seeming uproar. A vast army invaded the far east, and from the number of tribes streaming in that direction, they may have gained a great victory. A smaller, but still substantial number of tribes seem to be headed in Ababwa's direction instead though. Word has not yet reached you on whether they march to conquest or for some other purpose.

Greece

Chiron's homeland seems to be shrouded in a grey pall. The few sailors that have made it to the shores nearest Ababwa's northern borders also describe the proliferation of monstrous creatures.

The Mediterranean Sea

The same proliferation seems to be happening in the seas as well. There are distant reports of sea serpents, giant fish, gargantuan crabs, and even the Legendary Kraken being on the move. And of mer people, fleeing something or someone desperately.

The Indian Ocean

That doesn't stop the feckless and foolhardy though. Pirate activity seems to be increasing, with reports of two ships especially darting through the waves in the Indian Ocean. One a mysterious ship with black sails that leaves no witnesses to the crew, the other a smaller sleeker vessel with additions that allow it to grasp it's prey close and hold tight to it.

But the pirates and sea monsters don't appear to be having it all their own way. There are also reports of other ships, massive multi-leveled things with hundreds of cannons. The sailors manning them reported to be fair of skin and hair, and treated all those they encountered as their lessers.

Agrabah

Agrabah at least is a rising star thanks to its location on one of the branches of the Nile. They've had a great increase in trade, population, and even have managed to find a salt deposit to mine and add more to their coffers. There has also been an influx of scholars and tradesmen looking to get away from the coast.

AN: Not the most detailed Rival Report, but right now you don't have a very wide-spread network, and even the places you had them before... well things have been rather scrambled thanks to Chernabog.

Looks like what happened here happened everywhere else.

No clear hero victories but it doesn't look like the Villains are getting everything their own way either.

Survivors, resistances, possible other heroes rising up in the chaos, we're certainly going to be busy once we get our own house in order.

Scar is consolidating his rule but apparently the prey are not content to lie down and fill his belly.

King Louie is after the Red Flower.

Yeah this is something we're going to have to react to. We don't know why they are coming and might need the army readied ASAP.

Hades: "Oh quit your whining. Nowhere in grandma Gaia's notes on worldbuilding, (waves massive document that looks thick enough to serve as a support beam) does it say humans need to always be the cocks of the walk. Ursula is having fun with the poor unfortunate souls of the sea.

First sounds like the Black Pearl under Barbossa. Not sure about the second but the last sounds like Beckett and the East India Trading company.

Good to hear Agrabah is doing well and yes, a salt deposit is of great value.

If there is she's not made an appearance that anyone has noted.
Well to be fair, she kind of vanished from the mythology after she gave birth to Typhon as far as I know. And she's far from the only Titan not seen. Nyx, Erebus and their children are some examples.

Shere Khan is on the move I see.
Nope, Shere Khan is on the subcontinent. I screwed up the descriptions of where each thing was happening and got two of them mixed up.

Heh, very correct.
Ursula is having fun with the poor unfortunate souls of the sea.
Oh yeah, it's kind of a mess under da sea right now.

She had a single appearance in the cartoon; cursing Adonis and leading to the whole "get the golden apples from the Garden of the Hesperides".

The Beastmaster (Canon)
The Beastmaster
---

The past few months was something of a trial for Aladdin, busy familiarizing himself with his nation, his people, his advisors, his, his, his...

For a street rat that rarely ever had two coppers at once, suddenly having everything was overwhelming. More then that, being responsible for everything, people lived and died based on his actions.

Which is why he was currently at the Menagerie, "inspecting" the war mounts.

"Ah, nice to meet ya again, your Highness."

Aladdin turned, surprised at the sudden voice, and saw a man covered in scars. Claws slashes, bites, horn punctures, he obviously been around many animals, though surprisingly, he didn't seem to be missing any bits.

"Oh, yes, er..."

"It's all right, your Highness, the whole memory thing and all. I am the Royal Beast Tamer, James R. Kreemy." He held out his hand for the prince to shake, "Though, I'm mostly known as the Frosting."

Aladdin's hand froze before he could complete the hand shake, "... Why?"

James' face went strangely blank, "...you really want to know?"

It seemed like such an innocent question, yet Aladdin couldn't help but feel a chill, so "No."

And just like that James was back to smiling, "Like I said, I'm the Royal Beast Tamer. Haven't met a creature alive that I haven't been able to wrangle."

"Really? With a claim like that I'd have expected to see our soldiers on flying horses or something."

James nodded in understanding, "Well, two reasons there, Sire. One, I can keep a flying horse or rock drake from killing any potential rider, but that doesn't mean I can teach a person to ride one, especially not for war maneuvers."

Aladdin supposed that made sense. "And the second?"

"We don't exactly have a surplus of more extraordinary animals here." Right. That would make it hard to field flying riders. "Being honest, your Highness? I'm actually a bit bored. Your man made it out that I might be able to work with all sorts of animals, not just the rhinos and horses, but also shield toads, razor boars, griffons and the like. Really put my skills to the test."

Aladdin raised an eyebrow at that, especially the assortment of creatures he hadn't even heard of. James must have seen something in his expression as he hastily modified his statement.

"Not that I'm about to just leave or anything," James waved his hands as if to wave off the concern, "But, if you happen to hear about any strange beasty, I'd like to take a crack at it."

Aladdin nodded, "I'll be sure to keep you informed, in that case."

"My thanks your highness." James made a small bow, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some men I need to make sure aren't about to kill themselves." He waited for the Prince's nod before heading off, voice raising to yell at some of his subordinates.

When he was gone, Aladdin released a breath. Yet one more thing to add to his country sized burden.

Cthulhu sticks his head out of his bedchambers in R'lyeh: "Keep it down out there! Azathoth-damn youngsters these days, no respect for their elders grumble grumble grumble..."
These are the supernatural forces fighting for control of the sea.

1. Ursula (Ursula's sister might join her)
2. The personification of the oceans from Pirates of the Carribean
3. Hades (This is wiggly as he overthrew the gods on Olympus, so technically the seas might be something he could take command of), or Poseidon could take command of the oceans under Hades's orders
4. Monstro, the giant whale from Pinocchio
5. Moana's monsters under the sea
6. The ocean, from Moana
7. Kelpie, from Frozen

The non/some-what supernatural forces
1. The pirates from Moana
2. The surviving merfolk related to Hercules tv series, and The Little Mermaid
3. The pirates from the Caribean
4. The british navy remnants
5. Sinbad
6. Atlantis
7. Captain Hook!

There's also somewhere I think in the range of 3 Tridents that command the ocean in existence right now. Posiedon's Trident from Hercules. Triton's Trident from The little mermaid. The trident from Pirates in the Caribbean.

So what are the odds that the merfolk are fleeing because the magic of a sea witch and an artifact tier weapon of Poseidon, are going to war against the full technological might of Atlantis?

Edit: ninjad by mere seconds. ... Why do I see Hook feeling like he's in over his head, and being willing to make a few deals with heroes for safety?

Troop Movements (Canon)
Troop Movements

Your family follows you from a short distance, the entire troop cold and afraid. The jungle itself carries within it an ominous air of chaos and terror, and even as your arm shoots hot fire deep from your forearm into your shoulder with every movement, you refrain from anything more than the subtlest wince with every step.

"K-Kerchak." A voice calls shortly behind you, the abnormally soft voice of your niece turning your head just, the young gorilla clearly tired as she hurries to your side. "We can't keep this pace, we need to slow down." The single question has your mind flashing with utter horrific fear, the thought of cages appearing before your eyes, nets and other things imprisoning your family - your son shot and falling cruelly to his death.

"No! We march on until we find safety!" You roar back with finality, Terk shying away in intimidation, enough to have you internally scolding yourself. Were Kala here… She isn't however, and you brush the thought away with practiced ease now. Your troop has done nothing but travel week after week, the jungle inhabited by those creatures, turning into an utter realm of chaos even after you'd narrowly escaped that man-thing. In your mind, you've burned that name into your thoughts with a cold hatred: Clayton.

"Terk," you eventually speak in a tired voice, the voice of a father who's lost his family twice over now, who can hardly even push himself to move forward anymore but for the simple fact that there are those around you who are still relying on you. "We have to keep moving… we can rest once we've found it. Here, there are too many dangers." Terk hesitates, before slowly falling behind you without further comment, falling in step with her enormous friend. Said friend has the ground quaking with each mighty step forward, enough to have you grunting to yourself in anger; you'd taken in the lone survivor of elephants in the area - the rest couldn't be found, likely prey to the creatures which had so thoroughly taken over the jungle.

With tired movements, you parse through some thick vines, wiping them from view, only to stop suddenly at the view which awaits you.

Upon a clifftop you stand, the view from this peak offering you to see far off in the distance. Desolation across a large open savannah, an area you'd never known to exist in the past but apparently has - you don't allow yourself a chance to question it, instead analyzing the area before you. There's some greenery to be found of course, but the land itself looks to be yellowing and dying off. No animals frequent the grounds as far as your eyes can see, and with a frown you wonder what it is that's left it in such a state. You're ready to accept that this direction is a lost cause and have your family begin marching back, to head forth to a new area.

A glimmer in the distance stops you, and with squinting eyes, you can barely see it. A forest, far off in the distance. Perhaps a few days journey, manageable if tiring. While there's little vegetation as far as you can see, you'll have to make do with insect life for the time being.

With a heavy sigh, you turn, motioning for your stunned troop to follow. "We keep going," you order with a heavy heart. "Safety awaits us there." You point to the forest so far away with a thick finger, and though you hear no cries of dissent, you can feel it amongst them. Even so, you bear with it and continue forward, hoping against hope that you don't run into danger.

Such hopes are dashed only a day into your trek. Deeper now in the savannah, you were lucky enough to find thinning sources of water that haven't yet dried out. You were right about the insects, finding ravenous anthills that you and your family could feast on, even if it left your bellies feeling unfilled. Even so, halfway through the next day, you were stopped abruptly by a strange sound.

High pitched laughter, which seemed to come all around you in the tall grass of the open plains. Your troops froze, and Tantor among them stood out due to his enormous bulk.

"Stay back!" You threatened the voices who hid within the grass, searching for their owners. The giggling continued even so, and then they spoke.

"Ever seen a meal as thick and juicy as that?" An amused voice questions, as another answers back with a short "nope". "All I've seen are those skeleton looking elephants lately - no meat on their bones at all! But this one… oooo boy, five star meal just presented to us like this, can we really say no?" Cries of affirmation led you to be aware that there were at least four of these things. Calming yourself, you took a breath, listening out for the telltale sounds of a predator stalking its prey.

All was silent for a moment, and in that moment, you realized these creatures weren't nearly as silent as Sabor. Your dash to the right had you clobbering down one of these beasts, and it froze with shock at your charge. Roaring into the scared face of the creature, you grabbed it by the neck between two hands, even as it immediately tried to nip at you; trapped in your grip however, its ability to do so was limited. With utter ease, you slammed it into the ground beneath you, lifting it and slamming again, repeating the pattern two more times as you felt bones shatter beneath every blow. It stilled.

You took in a deep inhale of air, taking back in the sounds around you, the sudden fire of pain in your shoulder causing you to stumble for only a moment. That was enough however, as another creature leapt from the grass, intending on latching itself to your shoulder - with a burst of speed, you catch it with a fist to the snout, the creature crying in pain at the blow, before you follow up with a hammer blow to the downed beast, shattering its ribs in that single punch.

You're cut off by the trumpeting sound of the elephant, quaking steps appearing behind you as another beast cries out in terror, eyes wide, before they simply disappear along with the rest of its body, underneath the foot of the addition to your troop.

Taking deep breaths, you found your family not far away, huddled in on themselves with Terk at the lead, but closer to you and the elephant, two more of these creatures stared - gone was the giggling and confidence. Now they stood frozen.

Taking one step forward, you let out a roar, the sound echoing in the distance, the two regaining their wits as they fled in terror. Standing tall on your feet, you waited only a few moments longer before falling onto your fists, taking in handfuls of air into your lungs, wincing at the all consuming pain that could no longer be pushed aside. Looking about your terrified people, you could only offer one last thing to say.

"We keep moving… we rest when we're safe." The order this time is followed immediately, and through the pain, you forced your body to move.

Thanks for the canon status @TempestK! Just to let you know, James R Kreemy, AKA The Frosting, is based on a friends Dark Heresy character, though every character the friend made had skills in wrangling, and would do so if given an oppertunity.
Absolutely awesome, and I hope your friend is pleased to hear that they're now part of a quest canon!
Absolutely epic as per usual.

Three Disney properties come to mind, that I have to ask about being canon to this quest.

Lilo and Stitch.
Sword in the Stone.
And Gravity Falls.

The first one, if the villains mostly win, can range from harmless because they leave, to "I guess we can deal with it? At least they keep the new sea monsters and pirates away." If they don't, and all the experiments either run loose and/or are weaponized.

The second has implications, but is survivable. Mostly. In the short term, at least.

The third, promises PROBLEMS.

Gravity Falls is in the modern settings, not this one. Here Chernabog reigns as the top villain, not Bill Cipher.
Also, Lilo and Stitch is also modern.

Sword in the Stone is part of this quest. Characters from it showed up in a canon omake.

Canon as the canonized omake by DaOneInDaCorner 'Second String' had Merlin dropping off Wart/Arthur, Kay, Taran and a humanized squirrel off on Phil's doorstep with Hercules giving the news that Olympus has been taken by Hades and the Titans. Of course at the moment Britain is being overrun by the Horned King and his undead army.
Lilo and Stitch.
Gravity Falls
These two I haven't seen any sign of so far and since the quest is using a baseline DVV instead of Gridlock, I'd say they're less likely to be present.

The Removal of Britain is a big deal right? Or am I underestimating the importance of Britain's ruination? There's Peter Pan, the Great mouse Detective, Pirates of the Caribean, Pocahontas, Robin Hood, Brave, Atlantis the lost empire (I think Britain was the start of the setting, or did Milo start from the states? Hell, they had people of different nationalities as part of the crew.), Sword in the Stone.

I know we are using baseline, but are we going for some of the stuff that deals with crossover with the modern stuff? Like Gargoyles have a presence around this time period. The "Jake the american dragon" show has "implications" in regard to the supernatural elements that should have always been part of the world. And of course there is the Murphy clan that existed as far back as the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the destruction of Pompei, Druselstein is very old.

As has been noted, that one is canon and you've already seen four characters from it (technically).
No, say it isn't so. Did the players get Merlin as a Occult advisor! I, uh, don't want Merlin, was hoping for a gargoyle, or Varian.

... do you really think that Merlin could be that discrete?
The Removal of Britain is a big deal right?
it's a big deal, yes. But those instances you mentioned are all happening in one form or another. Ratigan and his Under-Empire are literally beneath the Horned King's notice. Peter Pan's focus is less on Britain and more on Neverland, and thus Peter, Hook et al. Atlantis started in the States, yes; in New York specifically.

For the others... American Dragon, Phineas & Ferb, and Milo Murphy's Law are all to be considered in their own timeline that connects directly to Gridlocked rather than part of DVV in this instance. This also goes for Gargoyles because frankly the whole "Children of Oberon" thing is a right muddled mess to deal with when I'm already dealing with a huge influx of entities and creatures.

So now that everything is going down, we should get ready for incoming refugees, especially from Greece.
Both of those are set in modern times as has been stated above, and as such they won't be showing up. The latest time period that has been folded into this mess is just post World War 1.
So is the Isle of Naboombu not here since it's from WW2 (I know no nazis or the like show up there, but still)?

Aw, shame you won't include the background lore for some of the modern settings into the classic DVV. Gravity Falls could be fun at this time, as it would be a gravity Falls with only the UFO crash, while the rest of the place is just weird, but not nearly as dangerous as the modern times.

What about... "Dave the Barbarian"?

No, it is still here. Even though the island itself featured in a movie set in WW2, it's sufficiently old enough to be slotted in to this setting without any problems. It just means that if Mr Brown or any of the other adult human characters show up they're either going to be very young, or in their prime. Unlikely to happen though.

Absolutely not.

B-Barbarian, B-B-Barbarian!

Honestly probably for the best though lol. So do any shows make it in or do they have to be connected to a Disney movie beforehand? Trying to think of an example but most examples are things like Kim Possible which don't count anyways

Hercules the Series
The little Mermaid show
Aladdin the Series
Tangled

Maybe "Gummy Bears".

Well from what I understand the ISOTs will be set at the point in the movies etc where the villain manages to win the final battle (or simply doesn't die/get defeated etc).

Of course since this is villains almost victorious, there may be hold outs, the heroes escaped execution etc etc. Ergo a lot is up in the air still.

Peter Pan: is set in Neverland (wherever that might be) but Hook supposedly has access to a flying pirate ship (meaning he has Tinker Bell for the pixie dust). No idea about Wendy and the boys.

Great mouse Detective: Considering they're mice and rats; the populace is probably beneath the notice of the Horned King and others. Basel is probably dead though; either from the trap or the final battle.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Beckett and Davy Jones are no doubt in play (though Jones may have his heart back). No idea about Captain Sparrow and co.

Robin Hood: I will say something regarding this was talked about on the Discord channel but spoilers you know? You should be able to find/get an invite to the channel.
Brave: Never watched the movie so I can't comment. I do know that in DVV canon the Horned King hasn't managed to take Scotland so..... -shrugs-

Atlantis the lost empire: It would the the underwater region of Atlantis that ISOTed and it was mentioned that Rourke was having issues getting control of everything. Also the Leviathan probably got ISOTed as well and will be ripping and tearing anything that comes close to Atlantis. I honestly don't know who to bet for in a fight between it and Ursula. On one side you have a super-powered witch who commands the seas. On the other you have a magitek intelligent (might not be sapient but it is autonomous and can plan) mecha-kaiju that treated every attack against it in the movie as minor irritations that didn't even scratch the armor.

Pocahontas: Governor Ratcliffe has probably won the battle against Pocahontas's tribe but without resupply from England he's highly limited (gunpowder, guns, cannons, men, just about everything) unless he finds somebody else to work with.
The latest time period that has been folded into this mess is just post World War 1.
That would be Princess and the Frog right?
