So we haven't heard much from the Sketch. Did they claim any Hyvani colonies? Are they taking part in the fighting or are they content to take "observer" status in continental Syffryn?

If we researched breachloading cannons would that trigger another massive rearm pile, stack with the current rearm pile at no extra cost, or just fold in without a major rework of our army and or navy?

Nah, there are a certain number of techs in a set to trigger the rearm process and everything will be covered by it. Just having Breechloading Rifles would not have triggered the rearm, you needed at least two out of the major three techs (Breechloading Rifles, Breechloading Cannon, Universal Rifling) to trigger the process.

So yeah. They're a Waifu, as is Hung, Black Sheep and finally Main Girl
Khemetri.

Or you could be a bunch of burly warrior dudes who are total bros with each other. That's a possibility too ;)

The Kielmyr Triple Crown was literally founded by the ultimate royal Scandinavian waifu, it is most certainly a waifu state and @KlinkerKing can back me up here.

Now this is correct.

Also, the national personifications of highly patriarchical societies makes sense given that national sentiment often calls for "men to defend the nation". So while the personification can be a total badass warrior woman, she still needs to be protected from the rapacious hordes of foreigners.

Hahahhaha.

Hung, who has to be saved from herself? Who don't know how to fight to literally save their own life?

Black Sheep who had to rely on us to conquer more of Kus and actually hold the territory they still have?

Kielmyr which was founded by the ultimate Scandinavian Waifu and has had to have us step in to save us several times in the last half a century alone?

Yeah. None of these guys are burly warriors.

Now I'm imagining them all as damsels in distress who are in serious denial.

Not like I needed you to rescue me or anything...

Clearly if were making an anime it would go like this.

Us: yakuza princess.
Khem: estranged best friend whom were slowly reconnecting with. (Standard pair, most evidence of canon ship)
Sketch: foreign girl we dont get along with. (Tsundere route)
Hung: really traditional girl were introducing modern sensibilities to. (Idk what route Hung chan would be. Good evidence of shipping but not as much as khem chan.)
Kiel: nerdy girl who has little in common with us and kinda drifts between sketch chan and us. (Mounting shipping evidence)
Nohon: rival yakuza princess who bullied hung chan (shipping is split between us Hung and lately Sketch)

Idk the rest.

I call it. Yakuza Princess! Making Friends led to Harems!

I guess that would make MAKUG the yandere stalker.

We have hordes of big burly men, are excessively martial and hold to our word all while maintaining a cultured and regal bearing.

Good enough for a yakuza princess
...What part of that is princess like?

Also Ymar has an actual Yakuza in the form of the Shadow King. OYE fits the bill for Yakuza way better.

Ymaryn-chan is ymaryndere, a more subtle form of yandere, and none of you will convince me otherwise.
Whereas a yandere will fly into a rage and aggressively oppose any competition, a ymaryndere will systematically go about arranging their downfall in entirely deniable ways that bystanders would invariably find elegant if they believed it was intentional in the first place.
