And so the war expands, to consume all of Syffryn...

Remember how everyone got scared because we could control world food prices? That ??? might be their reaction to finding our we can use central banking to fix their economies. Or a flashback to that lightning round where the bank started managing debtors assets as part of write offs. Getting investment in everyone as a pay off for this would be hilarious.

I'm going to laugh so hard when the Federation degenerates into massive religious persecution to stay in power and we now need to deal with religious refugees fleeing inquisitions and witch hunts.
No doubt about it. It was less about Fight Federation and more about Two Front War, Slow Federation War or Fast Ochruhr War to me. We'd probably be doing an anvil action on the Federation front and run our navy up the Italian region to get the Ochruhr back in their place before we see what happened to the Federation mess.

The Sketch might actually jump in here. It's a threat to them too.
Jumping in now means that we can get the Hes and Beyhvar on our side while they can still stand, we can pull in Kiel and Stymyr to keep the front too wide for them to attack our own lands, and we might be able to get the Sketch in to do some landings into their core territory as well.
Keeping in mind the Kielmyr said themselves they aren't really fit to fight their way out of a paper bag right now.

They are probably laughing at the stupid foreigners who bought up all those unsecured debts. That's why we are losing prestige.

The ???? probably means something else in my opinion.

Also, I am tired of these commie republicans kicking down our sandcastle every other decade. We need to form a Syffryn Monarchy!NATO to defend against these recurring wars.

I say we form a power bloc with the Triple Crown and Styrmyr. This would a decent enough force that no one would start shit that easily with us.

We probably can't trust the Sketch and Hespranaxer, although they are monarchies too.

The ???? probably indicates that we just bought a shitload of currently value 0 mortgages for homes, factories, mines, etc.
Once things bounce back theres going to be a bit of a panic about how much we're owning their countries...except where the Federation burned all their documents.

Chewei Guot was deeply out of place in visiting his aunt for the first time. While only about a decade younger than her, she had been away from the Mountain Throne for many decades in a foreign court, and had been from a branch of the family that he had never really interacted with. Perhaps he had seen her once when he was a child and visiting the emperor at the time, but as it was they had lived in different circles and then she had left, to become a strange curiosity among court, talked about enough that everyone knew of her but no one really knew her. And now here she was, sitting upon the throne, a foreign queen in her own right to a people who had eclipsed the Mountain Throne many decades ago. Her husband was a strange man, bearing the half-baked paleness of these western folk, excessive height that sat ill upon him like a gangly teen despite being an adult man, and a wicked scar beneath one eye of terrifying barbaric mark. Before the war with the traitorous Nohon Chewei might have dismissed this 'Noklei', but there was definitely some steel in him.

As it was, the news that these foreigners would be taking the Tragon port had come as a relief. Chewei had seen the power of the ships the Gylmaryn and Nohon used, and if the Gylmaryn took a port they would surely develop it in ways the Nohon would not. Better yet, the Gylmaryn had agreed to send technical and military advisors to show the source of their strength. In a casually terrifying display of barbarous might Chewei had been invited to go hunting with the family, and their eleven year old daughter had shown herself proficient with one of their guns. While an expensive piece that only royalty could afford, the two barrelled weapon could be fired and loaded - although the loading was mostly done by servants - by a girl child in seconds while having more than enough power to rip apart even a man in full armour at range. Noklei had of course casually dropped that they were working on a way to get this to thousands of their troops at once, and having fought alongside the Qeshyks at times, Chewei had little doubt that the Gylmaryn would eventually achieve it, as they had already armed their steppe warriors with many powerful pistols and carbines and seemed little worse off for the expense.

Less satisfyingly, Noklei had deigned not to offer a full continuation of the farce from before. While Chewei had come to realize that his uncle the Emperor had underestimated the pride of the Gylmaryn, Noklei had at least stated that there would be a major show of support for the legitimacy of the Emperor and a renewed proclamation of aid and alliance. It might not be enough, but it was certainly something.

---

Nokly was certain that he was going to be remembered as a warrior king, like the Dragon Kings of old. So much war and violence, when all he really wanted was to lounge around the palace writing bad poetry and painting bad paintings while playing around with his family. As it was he had declared his support for his fellow kingdoms the Styrmyr, Behryvar, and Kielmyr, and in doing so had declared war upon the Federation and the Ochruhr. He should probably also see about sending some extra diplomats to the Khemetri, since while it was obvious that the People were fighting the Federation having some degree of coordination so that they did not accidentally help the Hespranxer against their allies, even in a distant way, was probably a good idea.

So much to do, so much to do. And Yenyna was at an age where she needed some extra parental guidance. The games she played with her friends could get a bit wild at times, especially since her lessons were a bit less womanly than her female peers, which gave her odd ideas about what was appropriate play for a young woman of her station. Thankfully she still preferred to play princesses and ponies, it was just that now not only was she taking the 'trusted advisor' role, she was also being the 'general', organizing her peers into cliques that then rounded up as many of the boys in the palace as possible to stage mock battles for the 'favour of their ladies'. While probably not appropriate, Nokly had to admit that Yenyna's play was probably good training for her future life and so outright forbidding it was perhaps not the best of ideas, but he also wasn't sure that he had the energy to not half-ass correcting her behaviour.

At least he had metagreen to paper over the worst of the injuries. Since the scientists had discovered that once isolated metagreen could be combined with normal light without removing its healing effects, so he had a small metagreen room built in the palace and had the children have tea parties in there, with anyone injured in other play required to attend 'as lighter play'. Scuffs and scraps healed up within a single session, while more serious injuries like broken bones finished healing in only a few days instead of weeks. So far the studies elsewhere had mostly only shown long term safety and some ambiguity over whether or not more major injuries could be healed. There were a few reports of the slow regeneration of lost fingers and toes with extended exposure, but with larger amputations it was hard to tell if any regrowth was happening. There was some suspicion that there was an interaction between the age and severity of an injury that required not just longer exposure times but greater intensities, but Nokly could tell that many of the scientists were straight up talking out of their asses.

Nokly should probably also put some more worry into figuring out Yenyna's future husband, which was going to be a major political headache soon enough. He needed to balance a choice that would shore up internal support versus a husband with the family ties to attempt to dominate her and the Crown. Given her foreign mother a foreign husband might hurt her position, but then again deepening ties with long term allies like the Kielmyr, Khemetri, or Black Sheep with a royal wedding might also be useful, especially depending on how the next few years shook out. One more thing to think about over the next few years.

Also something to think about was university funding. While a part of the Redshore University faculty had managed to talk him into giving them a considerable grant to just do what they wanted to do, which right now mostly involved looking into what the hell was going on with the banks, there was another subset of the university system that was less willful in seeking funding.
