You know, this probably wouldn't be as much of a problem if our Social Tech wasn't so behind OTL.
I don't see how that would be the case? You know, this probably wouldn't be as much of a problem if our Social Tech wasn't so behind OTL.
We're not really far behind. We focused on other branches of social techs, since there was little domestic demand for it...which was because we dodged some large bullets. We got some EARLY even, because our dudes were doing archeology and anthropology(and other hoity toity social techs) before it was cool. You know, this probably wouldn't be as much of a problem if our Social Tech wasn't so behind OTL.
I think Random was talking about Real Life, and how IRL the world's 'behind' in Social Techs compared to other things...We're not really far behind. By contrast Hespranxer and the other Syffryn states were forced to open up to new ideas because rebellion everything and followed by seething as people needed something to blame for the economy sucking that's not "its your own bloody fault".
Inversely, you have the Sketch, who set their socials on fire.

Ain't no rule against necromancy in these parts
Is there a place we can beg @Academia Nut to continue this fine quest? I would be willing to turn to the dark arts to attempt such a resurrection.

If there is anything I, or anyone else, can do to help you please let us know. I really do like the PoI quest and am willing to help in some way if I can to see it revive.I'm mostly trying to figure out what it is that I want to do, but I have a few ideas.

While true, this will not stop the knee-jerk many people from other forums have when they a several month old thread bumped (I was mostly joking though)
I think you mean "Necrowmancy"
Are there any easy, smaller things you can do to rewards yourself for doing some writing (not necessarily for this thread in particular)? Like, getting a little extra dessert, or saving some of your favorite music and only listening to it as a reward, or something like that?Right now my biggest struggle is finding the motivation and energy to write regularly, so there are unfortunately some even more fundamental problems than my core frustration with the mechanics and the feeling that I wrote myself into a corner.

However long it takes, you should know that your fans love your work. You have done an excellent job of creating a world and you should be proud of that.Probably a good idea, although to an extent I'm just feeling burnt out in general by various things going on in my life. I've actually had like two or three projects fizzle out in the background.
One good thing is that the turning of the seasons means that I have fewer excuses not to get outside and take a walk to pep myself up/organize my thoughts.

A walk is always a good idea. I believed it is the most common form of exercise.
How do ya organize your thought anyway? I take notes on index cards. When I put them on my computer, I make sure to put them in atomic 150 words files.
