All that said, I really can not work with this kind of hint.
@Sinarblood, any ideas?
Sorry was at work
Alpha and Omega can refer to god, yes, but in the context that he is
infinite.
Therefore, Alpha and Omega only being related to the
end makes no sense, and neither does the idea of our super ability relating to only one of our affinities.
However I dislike the idea of "the Beginning of the End" because it kind of seems to still focus to much on [End] as the concept behind it.
The flavor text puts Cerys as
"The End of all things"
but I think what we should focus on is what happens when she ends something with A &O
Namely that it breaks down into magic she can use.
Right now it is basically at a level of a "mana-battery" that isn't all that useful to us because our fights haven't really lasted long enough for us to be out of mana that quickly anyway, and the large start up cost is noticeable. But that is only
now.
I'd say Alpha and Omega is an ability that "Ends the old so that things Begin anew"
She Ends what is currently there to create a new beginning, using the mana generated from what once was to do so.
Hence Alpha and Omega, not one or the other. Beginning and End working in tandem.
Also fits neatly into my idea that Cerys method to permanently conjure things without them disappearing in time (not that we ever got around to conjuring more than flame and our armour and sword yet
) would lie in mastering the infinity affinity, since that would mean that the "ultimate" form of Alpha and Omega is only obtainable once you actually get to the point of being able to pull off infinity based magic.
Right now we get temporary benefits (larger mana-pool) and we have reason to suspect other temporary benefits in the future:
Alpha and Omega's Mana Steal doesn't affect stats atm, whereas Blood Willow's Mana Steal does.
It's Lore right now, but that can be changed.
hinting that it is possible to get it to eventually affect our stats.
It might even be possible to make such changes permanent late game master of infinity wise.
But ultimately things like affecting stats only really scratches the surface of its utility.
Thinking of it with only the current offensive and defensive abilities in mind is doing it a great disservice. We just aren't really ready to bring out the full benefit of the ability.
It only end things right now because we aren't skilled enough to do anything else with it.
That is and was my current running theory on Alpha and Omega for a while now at least.
So basically what other people are saying but actually giving function to the mana generated
