Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X]plan Reaper Of Steel

Sure. I should note that we should avoid anything too strenuous, though, and we should be willing to retreat if it looks like we might get hurt worse.

As far as Vista goes, just handing her a new arm and saying, "Yo, I fixed your shit for you!" won't really make it up to her, and would be underwhelming if we actually want to respect our friendship. Part of the reason that she likes Taylor is that Taylor respects her as a person rather than treating her like a child; when we talk to her, it needs to be presented as an option that Vista can choose if she so desires. Pair that with an apology and an honest explanation ("I went a couple years without having an honest, positive conversation with anyone, let alone having any friends, and I don't really know how to do it anymore. I'd like to, and I am trying, but it's so much easier to focus on goals I can achieve or problems I can fix, and I avoided just speaking to you out of cowardice. I am sorry." or something like that, but better). Then, tell her that we have a tinker who is developing a magic, nuclear powered prosthetic arm if that's a direction she'd want to go.

-I'd say best bet is to piss off using the barrier spell. Saint can't hit what isn't there.-

Ehhh, I'd say it was more misplaced discretion/awkwardness than cowardice.

Sure, objectively, I wouldn't call Taylor a coward, but Taylor avoided speaking to Vista, which she really should have done by now for numerous reasons, just so that she could avoid her anxiety and discomfort. From her perspective, it would be understandable that that feels "cowardly." There are probably better ways of putting that, of course, but I couldn't think of anything that didn't sound like an excuse, which would undermine the sincerity I was going for. That is why I put "or something like that, but better" at the tail end of that, though.

--Changed Vote--

I think we should avoid airborn combat while we are still injured. Also I don't think we should use more then 1 Cartridges at a time while on the defensive. The time with the RPG showed that using multiple cartridges can be tiring.

I created a new plan as the current one doesn't include the usage of Strong Shield.

[jk] Plan Fuck You Saint
- Ragnarok should be able to kill them all with one blast. Easy solutions are the best ones, right?

The drones are still a few miles down, right? Much as I'd like to teleport out with the device to keep it out of Saint's hands, I suspect the fight will be over before we can lay hands on it.

Well, I guess it is true that we haven't cast any spells yet today, so we meet that 'safety' condition.

...Holy crap no. Not only that, but Fuck no!

Dude, using Ragnarok on the Dragonslayers is not only stupid, but incredibly dangerous to us and anyone around us. Let's not, okay?

Yeah, uh, jk stands for just kidding.

I'm sure it would be safe, though. They're 2-3 minutes out, which has to be at least five miles, probably ten. Really, if it weren't for the whole murder aspect, I'd be seriously suggesting it.

They're still in the ROV near the ocean floor, I think, and can't be teleported at this time.

Umm, quick question then. Can Saint even get to the RoV @Silently Watches ? Especially if we order it to go deeper? Dragon needed to design it specially to withstand that depth and I doubt the suits he has can safely go down there.

Also it seems to me that Saint and his merry band of men are attacking us at sea with the intent to steal or cause grievous harm. That makes them Pirates. Let's treat them like most civilized nations do. With fire and a side order of death.

I suppose I could have made this clearer, but this part?
The remote-controlled sub takes a second to fiddle with the Device, but eventually it stuffs the card into its maw to be suctioned up with all the other goodies you have collected on this trip. Someone picks that time to start ringing an alarm bell. "Wonderful," you groan. "What crisis is it this time?"
Everything's being moved to a box onboard the ship via tinkertech-vacuum-cleaner. And no, Tyrant, the ROV can't go deeper because it's sitting on the sea floor. It doesn't have drills or shovels to dig.

Hey, now, some of your best friends and even family are pirates! :D

And making every nation, faction and their mother aware that we are a nuke nicely wrapped in a teenage girl-shaped package, with the words "for a rainy day" and the picture of Behemoth in the card and tied up with a ribbon made of nuclear fallout and temper tantrums. That sounds like a fantastic idea.

"But here's the thing, Cally: I need somebody in my corner who gets what I'm talking about...

We really do owe this to her, don't we? I mean, she's more or less on the same place that Taylor was at the start of the fic: she feels that she's alone, that no is there to support her... Independently of the stupid arm, I feel that Taylor should just be there for her, even more because she got out of the hellhole that was her life thanks to Perfect Storm, Samantha and her dad (even though she still hasn't told him about the aliens, but teenager, am I right?).

I propose that:
  1. We use a Hanging Out vote next week, and to go somewhere to relax, Vivio knows that we need it after this arc.
  2. To avoid any issues with Missy's identity, we use Dimensional Translocation to go somewhere in Aleph or other Earth. We can take the PRT chewing us out for not telling them about it.
  3. We unmask to her. Again, we are at least partially responsible for her loss of identity and haven't been really the best of friens. We kind of owe her.
  4. Explain about your powers, at least as much as it is beleviable, and offer to scan her for a Linker Core.

Well, re: point 1 I'd be amenable to using an action slot for that, but I'm looking at the numbers for this current arc and thinking the next arc (and impending EB fight casting its looming shadow) is coming very soon; the timing may encounter...difficulties. Not quite sold on point 4 in some ways, more specifically the last part. I'm very reluctant to burn out her Spatial Warping powers.

I mean, it'd be a nice slice of life moment before the shitstorm that is and Endbringer fight brings. Tonally, it works great.
We don't need to tell her about the space transimendional magical aliens, just explain that PS isn't like other parahuman powers.
And while her shard powers are cool, they are also a constant reminder of her trigger event and her inability to fix her problems, even more with her parents dead. I actually wonder given the chance how many capes would exchange their powerset for another, if it'd mean getting rid of the psicological weight?

Actually given how that's phrased it's more likely to backfire.
Just...offer up the arm as an apology, and then be normal after?
