Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

No, it's worse.
PRT Quest is canon, the Worm WOG folks don't list stuff that it isn't, but it introduced a bunch of stuff that contradicted the story.

Out of curiosity, what are the contradictions?

I'm actually not overly familiar with PRT Quest, but I'd believe it's non-canon for the same reasons as Weaver Dice... not sure though.

Not saying I agree, but for the sake of the argument, let's discount WeaverDice and PRT Quest. Does WoG still count? Wildbow confirmed GG's aura was not Master or Stranger, but Shaker.

I'll try to clarify my point. The classifications, and Worm powers in general, are about applications, not the methods. Take telekinesis, a method. We see a TK Master in Parian (minions), a TK Brute in Browbeat (self-protection), a TK Shaker in Rune (affects areas / battlefield). Similarly, mental-emotional manipulation is a method. The obvious and common applications are Master, certainly, but they're not automatically identical. Imp affects minds and is a Stranger (stealth), Gallant affects minds and is a Blaster (fights from range), and Glory Girl affects minds and is a Shaker (affects areas / battlefield).

I hope you at least see where I'm coming from, even if you dismiss it because it's supported by sources that aren't the main story. I'd still greatly appreciate if you could cite whatever it is that convinces you my definition is fanon, and your own isn't.

[X] Run – The leader of the Adepts showing himself right after you had a meeting with Legend about them? That's too convenient. He has something up his sleeve, and walking into it blindly is a quick road to slow suffering.

[X] Follow – What is Epoch thinking, showing himself in the open like this? There's something weird going on, but it doesn't look like he wants to fight. If he wants a peaceful meeting, you can oblige him unless he crosses the line first.
-[X]Have Perfect Storm alert Legend of what's going on, along with a constant tracker beacon of your position and an audio-video file/transcription of everything you and PS can see, hear, and scan for.
-[X] Have Sam teleport to the area and watch from afar, just in case.

she's taking responsibility as a fast-response unit of sorts.

Seems like enough to make you feel guilty about calling her in to watch on just a hunch... she have any way to get a video feed (smartphone?) like that vote has us sending to Legend? She's a teleporter in telepathic contact with us, "nearby" and "back in Philly" is a very small difference once visual range is covered.

If I may suggest a write-in?

-[] Deploy Wide Area Search.

I know that the WAS range isn't that great, but walking into a possible ambush it gives us the type of battlefield awareness that'd prevent things from going completely south.

Given the whole setup and invitation is 'suspicious', that's not really specific enough. Additionally, WAS is not stealthy at all. The Adepts will see us casting it, if not pick up on the scanning due to Mage skills. That plummets the odds of them remaining peaceful rather quickly.

You have a point. Still, WAS may be flashy but it doesn't look inmediately threatening, and the benefits of using it far outweighs the risk of getting blindsided by an unknown.

WAS is a spell in the same tier as Recursion Field: You use it right before you start slinging spell. We don't know how much contact with the outside the Adepts have, but if they're even remotely similar with magic, they'll recognize something that has immediate applications towards ferreting out an ambush or blasting things. (Because if they don't use something similar, I'll eat my hat.)

Still thinking about what to do, but honestly, imo he already attacked us. He shone a forearm-length laser pointer right in our eye. Afaik, that's kind of really dangerous.

For the whole "they might recognize WAS" debate... IF they do, then the only way they'll take offense is if they have something to hide; in which case, we'll be better off for having discovered it before it blindsided us.

Or they're able to block it, in which case they attack and we need our backup or they don't and they adjust for our obvious disinterest in hearing them out.
