Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

1. It's SB, what did you expect?
Who have by and large become the minority in the votes lately. Maybe because most people who follow the quest on both sites vote over here? Maybe I'm not the only dual-member with a general mindset of "SB is for stories, SV is for quests".

That's part of the reason I'm actually considering shutting down the SB side of the quest. It'd make all the background work easier on me to post only on one board, and I get a whole lot more discussion and questions over here.

Quests do seem to be a bit of a gradually decreasing thing on SB. And to be frank, Worm has long past its community height there. It's gone from popular to like, to popular to hate, to... left behind for other things. There are new people still finding Worm and getting into it, but it doesn't match or exceed the exodus.
As for the lack of discussion, that'd be something interesting to research, poll people on.

I didn't realize this was over on SB, too. I probably should have, but I didn't think about it. I'm glad I came to this one first, then, as I enjoy the discussion as much as the story.

Which is sad, because the vast majority of the stories/quests I follow are Worm. It's what got me onto SB originally.

Yeah, I myself primarily do Worm things. I've been trying to branch out a bit, though. Worm is definitely oversaturated at this point, unless i wait for it to become unpopular enough to be the hipster choice :V

All right. Laptop/NetTally is still down, so you get to gaze in awe at my hand-counted votes.

[X] Purity – The boss herself. You're fast enough to keep up with her, and like you told her last you saw her, you're tougher than she is. Plus, if you want to try talking her down, this might be your best shot.
-[X] Cast a recursion field to leave most of the heroes free to herd the civvies, and try talking down Purity.
Vote count: 8

[X] Purity sort of– The boss herself. You're fast enough to keep up with her, and like you told her last you saw her, you're tougher than she is. Plus, if you want to try talking her down, this might be your best shot.
-[x] Use wide area search to scout out the area in front of the convoy, once you have located a clear zone in front of this mess lay down a full hell wrath for maximum destruction, doesn't have to be lethal unless that's needed to do the realestate damage we want to make everyone pay attention, then try to nab Purity in a dimension so you can talk without things escalating, maybe warn the heroes so they can act on the distraction provided ask them to focus on staying alive and stalling/stopping the convoy rather than making the capture until we get back. Use the dimensional whatever to talk this out with Purity, quickly.
--[x] if diplomacy fails and you don't see a better option blast purity with a rapid combo of temporal sludge and hell wrath (non-lethal) and take her out before dropping the dimension. Then unleash the dakka on the other capes. Finish this quickly enough you might be able to get to one of the other fights. Kaiser could do with one less head I think, this is all probably his fault

-[X] Try to talk her down first. Give her a chance to surrender and submit to due processing. Failing that, you have a crisis on your hands and Purity is not someone you can fight while holding back - go lethal on the capes, but not the civilians.
Vote count: 1

[X] Night and Fog – Double the evil, double the pain. If you can take them out, the biggest barrier between the heroes and the noncombatants will be gone.
-[X] Cast a recursion field to leave most of the heroes free to herd the civvies (firstly explain effect of the Field to Revel and Brutes).
Vote count: 1

[X] Crusader – His projects go through inanimate objects, but does that include forcefields and Flare bullets? Only one way to find out.
-[X] Cast a recursion field to leave most of the heroes free to herd the civvies (firstly explain effect of the Field to Revel and Brutes).
-[X] Find Crusader with WAS and shoot him with Flare Shooter.
--[X] If this doesn't work, use Solar Wrath.
Vote count: 1

The winning vote actually had some contingencies that some people I put in the final count did not include. My reason for excluding is because you may not want to go through that plan once you hear what Purity has to say.

-[X] If negotiations fall through and you have to take the villains down, start by handling Purity; the others already group together and have limited ability to strike an airborne target. Then, a combination of Temporal Sludge and Solar Wrath should take care of Fog and whoever is hiding inside him.
--[X] If Fog can't be beaten non-lethally and refuses to surrender, switch to a lethal Solar Wrath for him. You have learned from your recent experiences, and Fog is just as willing to kill as Cadejo was.

Looks like there is a bit of a difference there.

Makes sense. An action that ends with 'talk with Purity' doesn't exactly lead to further sub-votes. And as for what Purity has to say...
Kayden, you say you're a hero? You say we should stand aside? OK then. We're here, nobody's interfering, we can talk. So convince me.

Subvotes 2 and 3 kind of put you in a corner, and considering Purity's reasons for her actions, there's a chance you might not want to fight after talking to her. Or you might still want to fight. I don't know, and I figured it would be better to have a "What do you do now?" vote after the conversation ends so you can act on the new information.

I was hoping it wouldn't lead to a fight, but I felt it would be good to have a plan in case it did. And another plan in case the first plan failed.

I mean, on one hand, escaping means that Purity and the others can start over and really try not to be Nazis. On the other, she was kept in quarantine for a reason and a Zized Purity does not sound fun.

Eh, almost all votes were for talking with Purity.
For some reason people like her. :(
You must have missed SB.
So, how heroes'll react if we refuse to fight and leave or even help Purrity to fight them off?
Hello villainy!
Making a bit of a big assumption there. Plus, how do you know Revel, Lady Photon, and Laserdream haven't heard what Purity has to say? It might change their minds too.

Talk, talk, talk...
Only my and veekie's votes don't include talking.

This is possible.
But she is still possible Ziz-bomb.
I prepared some salt to take with her words.

Sorry, I don't get it. At all.
Please clarify?

Late is saying not to immediately jump to fighting. Above all else we are heroes, and while we should be prepared to fight it should be our last resort.

And if we can get them to stop fighting and come with us peacefully, that would be the best possible outcome. Let's not become too trigger happy, okay?

They already vasted their chance to surrender and already mauled or even killed at least one of the heroes.
From my point of view it's time for last resort already.

...That's why I wanted to fight Lung. He definitely don't have mitigating circumstances...

Okay? The other heroes aren't trying to go for the kill though. And the ones that have killed anyone are the two sociopaths, which we've pretty much agreed need to be the ones that we take down first if it comes to that. So I don't see the reason we should attack Purity at this point in time if she can still see reason.

Just because you're bloodthirsty doesn't mean the rest of us are.

In what way can Purity see reason? There really isn't a good way out of this for Purity and her group, because there's no way in hell that the PRT will accept anything that doesn't result in the entire group being re-quarantined. Thus we're either going to have to beat down a bunch of possibly innocent people, or let them go and have the PRT get angry with us/actually go after us. This is why I wanted to go after the ABB or Kaiser, as diplomacy isn't an option that we are good at or even gives the possibility of a win for us.
