Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

What are you going to do
[X] Stay behind – The Beasts are still out there. If Miss Militia and the rest of the Philadelphia Protectorate are in Brockton Bay, that means nobody is sticking around to protect the city's citizens. You'll do more good filling in for them while they're gone.

Don't forget about Danny and the Privateers.
[X] On medical leave – With his team down for the count, Danny won't be able to protect himself should everything go to hell. He needs to stay here. Keeping an eye on the city is the most the Privateers should be doing until they've recovered.

And Samantha?
[X] Lend her skills – Samantha is a Guardian Beast.

Can the voting on Samantha be conditional if Danny's going?

I don't want any of them to go hunting for criminals that might not attack this new home if they don't give them reasons to do so, especially with a biotinker free, but if Danny goes with or without crew i think is more than credible that Taylor would lend him Samantha to act as a bodyguard.

What are you going to do
[X] Join the fight – Miss Militia was very clear that the Protectorate needs help. You didn't agree with how the PRT handled the screening process, but there's a time and place to make an issue of that. This is neither.

And Samantha?
[X] Protect the homestead – Defending others is right there in her title. Convince her to stay here and flex her magical muscle so the Protectorate doesn't come back to find their home yet another zone.

Don't forget about Danny and the Privateers.
[X] The boss's problem – All the Privateers are injured except for Danny, but his powers don't truly require having his crew around. He can still go by himself and coordinate some of the heroes just like he did during the Simurgh fight.

Taylor is probably the best suited to actually containing the problem with Recursion Field, while Danny's useful for linking up the PRT squads.
But if Taylor goes, Samantha should stay, or vice versa. We got a whole cluster of wounded here, leave without a combatant at our own peril

[X] Lend her skills – Samantha is a Guardian Beast, someone literally designed for combat. If the heroes are in such dire straights that they are letting villains go after mistreated villains, they need her there.

Taylor's WAS and Recursion Field are extremely useful for Brockton's situation.
Sam should stay and watch Philly, because I don't believe that Privateers are capable to contain "Case 53s" outbreak by themselves.
They both teleporters, so, if something really bad happened, they are capable to back up each other pretty fast.

Two plans quickly took the lead. This is either going to go really well or really badly.

[X] Bulk up the forces – Didn't you just say the Privateers are probably as good as the PRT? They need to go and lend their aid. If nothing else, their teamwork will put to shame any other group volunteering.

A serious dearth of voters there, plus a split. Hm.

Okay, vote part 2. I'll close this in a little over 24 hours, so type quick.

Does Danny go with you and Sam to Brockton Bay?
[ ] Yes
[ ] No

[X] Yes, I'm not letting them risk themselves while I can't do nothing here with my crew all banged up.

... Oh for fuck's sake. What the hell did I miss?

The fun of by-line vote calculation.
Plus I'm wondering if there isn't a bit of an SB/SV split going on here...

Ugh. if we leave Danny here, he's fucked if something goes wrong, with the rest of the privateers. Danny can't hold down the city like Taylor or Samantha can, but if we take him we're abandoning the city and badly-battered Privateers. So the choice is really whether we commit fully to our bad decision and hope it somehow works (HA!), or spread our forces in a bad attempt at compensation and lose Danny as well.

[X] Yes
RIP Privateers, this is your reward for trusting the players Hebert family.

... the hell is that write-in?

[X] No.

He and his injured can stay right at home. Danny might contribute tremendously in overall efficiency, but he's no silver bullet against anyone. Also no Butcher!Danny pls.

*looks at vote results*
:facepalm::facepalm:
Can't say I'm at all pleased by this. It's like a group forgot to, y'know, actually leave behind a viable person to defend our new home.

Edit:
Screw it.
[X] Yes

And just vainly hope Philly isn't in chaos* when we get back.

*It's likely going to be

A bit of information I think you all might be interested in:
Spacebattles has, without a single word of discussion or debate, made six 'No' votes and no 'yes' votes at this time.
First-past-the-post rules are back in effect. As we are currently divided, SB's unified knee-jerk vote will carry the day.
So if you want to take Danny with us, for whatever reason, we need to convince people to switch.
EDIT: Updated vote.

He's not a defender yeah.
In fact he's pretty much useless without a healthy team to command, like the PRT forces at the quarantine

Why the hell did we wind up taking both solo combatants away while NOT assigning the guy good at coordinating groups of allies to the big team fight?

Because enough plans, on SB and SV, mentioned taking Taylor and/or Samantha, even though the unified plan that got the most votes didn't say to take them both.

They could have, if the vote to have someone call you had more than 50% of the votes for "Join the fight". It didn't, so the add-on won't happen.
Write-in add-ons have a really difficult time being accepted in this quest in its current state, don't they?
Can we vote
[ ] No, he stay on phone to alert us
?
Even if so, you're back to that 50% criteria, when over ten votes have already been made.
