Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

I want you to try something at home: how hard is it for you to hold your teeth, all of your teeth, at once, vs all the fingernails on a hand or toenails on your feet?
FTFY
I think you'll find the latter much easier to bind together and manipulate. And dog-boy can't hurt people if he can't get to them, so eliminating his mobility makes him all bark, no bite.
I don't think you are taking into account the flesh that doesn't exist. Or the fact the the bite of the teeth and the undersides of the claws are supernaturally sharp. Or that the bind on the teeth doesn't involved the ring being between the set of teeth where it is sharp.

EDIT:
You know how handcuffs work right? You latch it over a narrow part of the limb between two wider areas. In lieu of that, you can put it really tight on fleshy bits and it won't slide off unless whoever wants it off is willing to tear off some skin. Fleshy bits don't exist on Cadejo.

Another example, an actual ring. Those work because a combination of flesh and the knuckles on your finger. Again, narrow vs wide.

Given the lack of flesh, here is an example to use for binding the claws. Get a piece of string, and loop it around four sets of four needles and tie it as tight as you can. You can even tie each of those loops of string to each other. Now, pull each set of needles from either side of the loop. See what happens.

Welp. Time to decide if we go the Punisher route or not. This mother fucker is quite literally impossible for Calamity to dispatch in a non lethal fashion.

...Oh, holy shit. This... this could totally shake up Taylor's whole world view. Look back at the start of the quest, and remember Taylor's concept of heroism. "Destroy the gangs, and everything will turn out ok." Lolwutsomuchnaivete.

Let's sit down with Vista as she gets her arm reattached, and have a heart-to-heart about what it means to be a "hero". I think this would be the most beneficial thing we can take out of this particular situation.

Yea, that's right. I just realized I don't even care that we lost so badly against this guy, simply because it so clearly reveals some serious flaws in Taylor's heroic philosophy.

That's a nice, IC way of justifying the OOC screwup. I like it... until everyone dogpiles on the grimmderp train and starts throwing around city-leveling spells outside a Recursion field as first instinct to any comflict.

Idiotic question:
Can Bitch affect Cadejo?
Because intangible dogs are not enough.
I want giant intangible monster-dogs!

Also, I should point that we can choose a spell, but very few votes were casted.
My personal favourites are ring bind or telekinesis. Latter even work against Cadejo!

I think so, but she wouldn't be able to control him, simply because she isn't a controlling Master.

[X] Telekinesis

Just a heads up. Between shit at work, shitty patients at work (which is an entirely different fecal lifeform, trust me on that score), and trying and failing to force myself to study for my all-too-rapidly approaching licensure exam, there will be no update this weekend. Maybe next weekend.

Hopefully next weekend.

We'll have to see how it goes, I guess.

So yeah, that. Also, if you haven't yet voted for what spell to learn, please do so before I write the next chapter, preferably now. I'll tell you to vote again if I don't get enough people chiming it, but I won't exactly be happy about it.

Good luck!

Also,

[X] Spatial Translocation

Because while I like Telekinesis, We could teleport to any known location. And we're only limited by how many people we can take with us, so that makes things a bit more viable imo.

Good for quick escapes and emergency transportation when we need it.

[X] Spatial Translocation

EDIT: What's not to love? Get ourselves and allies out of trouble and depending on how fast the casting is maybe get enemies into more trouble

Possible mistake in thinking Ring Bind can stop him: If we get it now, it only affects one target, and while I think the number would go up, I don't know if we'd get up to six, which is the number we'd need.
Or would it actually affect all six dogs because they're still the same person?

That is a very good question. Let me look at my notes.

…Oh.

No, it affects individual targets, and with a max number of five. You can bind the same target several different ways, but each dog would be its own target.

What about Telekinesis, then?
Telekinesis works on total mass, not number of targets per se.
Hm. Out of curiosity, is it possible to increase that max number?
That… Hmm….

Yessss, it is possible. Kind of.

If you look back at the Basics of Training spoiler, at Master level you can use multiple spells at the same time. I've been trying to keep you to a few "spell slots", 3 or 4 depending on what you're doing. Like you did with Strong Shield when you fought the Simurgh, should you master Ring Bind, you could cast that spell multiple times, each instance letting you hit 5 targets. It would just come at the cost of not doing other things, including flight if you were trying to pin down an entire mob. Overreach yourself, and you're a sitting duck.

With a well-chosen vantage point and proper back-up it would still be a viable tactic. However those two things are situacional at best, but still a good idea to have a trick like that in reserve anyways.

Gonna go ahead and call it. You don't like what you got, maybe you should have voted.

Working on the next chapter now. Hopefully up tomorrow, but maybe Sunday. Depends on how much it fights me finishing up, I suppose.

EDIT: Skill tree is updated, too.
