Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X] Tell her what little you know about the alien space wizards and their tech

That is only for Protectorate/Wards. We are not under the Protectorate. If they tried to seize the tinker tech of Independent Heroes, much less Rogues and villains, the PRT would all but have civil war on their hands.
To be fair to Puidwen, I believe they also seize any Tinkertech used in the commission of a crime. Like Bakuda's bombs that MM used during the Leviathan fight in canon.

That said, @Puidwen , Taylor isn't a villain here. Independent heroes and rogues don't have to get approval for anything they make, and it can't just be taken from them.

-[X] Mention the crashed ship

Complete honesty, ho!

Magic and tech isn't mutually exclusive in this case, it's just a different form of energy and science.

Hopefully she mentions the piece of the ship at the bottom of the ocean and has Dragon go salvage it or something.

[X] Tell her you found Perfect Storm but don't know anything about how it works

Admitting to extraterrestrial contact could be bad, but let's not kid ourselves, there is no way we are going to manage to "baffle" the world's premier Tinker with technobabble. Letting her know we are not a Tinker helps us stay on the level with her.

It gets better: Dragon isn't actually a Tinker either, her power is to be able to comprehend Tinkertech(which was needed because she needed to know how to maintain Tinkertech to survive, as her programming is tinkertech). Which is to say she's going to rip apart any technobabble really fast. And also understand any magibabble really fast too, if we reveal enough.

Which leads to the Saint on the other end watching.

Given this is the Worm side of the quest I'm rather wary of revealing things to Dragon. As inevitably due to her nature she can't keep anything a secret. And a fair number of questionable people have access to her information.

Communication failure and authorities being a problem are the Worm side of things. Contributing to the communication failure fiasco to people who genuinely want to help without good reason doesn't help us.

PRT has no reason to fuck Taylor over since Scion is GONE, no need for parahuman feudalism since infrastructure isn't going to suddenly disappear all at once. We only have Saint to worry about and unless he and his two buddies have better magical potential than Taylor, there really isn't any worry of them being able to do anything with magitech.

But if we intend to get this information out there, then this would be the easiest method of doing so.

Of course, we'd still have to deal with Ziz and possibly Leviathan being obstructive and shit, but if we want the TSAB to find us this was going to be a risk anyway.

We have to roll with the punches at this point. And if that means that we have to go full disclosure to ensure maximum cooperation, then we should consider doing so. We can prove that we received comms as well, cuz PS is Best Magical AI Device.

Dragon is good people, and a s much as I would enjoy Taylor pretending to be a magical pretender it would be a good idea to be honest with a good soul like her.

Um... Dragon is perfectly capable of keeping a secret. Like in canon where she figured out Taylor's identity pretty damn early and never told anyone.

EDIT:
I'd like to add the Triumvirate still has their own control over Dragon, namely she has to totally obey and cannot lie to them as legitimate authorities.
Thus, I favor getting the word spread about the imminent Space Police contact.
I don't remember her outright lying to the authorities at any point, but she's not obligated to actively tell them things - like in canon she figured out Taylor's identity early in canon, and didn't tell anyone.

There's also little indication that she has to obey laws.

I would assume this depends on the nature of tinkertech. I mean, if someone build an atomic bomb equivalent or a plague generator or water to uranium transmutation engine, PRT would probably be obligated to confiscate it on general law grounds of private citizens not being allowed to have WMDs

"I accidently made a contact with magical aliens!"
Well, let's try it. Full disclosure and cooperation with authorities!
And if that doesn't work well, we'll shoot our problems with Solar Wrath / let Sam punch them.

Let's start humble, liaison with Dragon for a while, then see where we stand.

[ ] Tell her about magic but stay quiet about its extraterrestrial origins
I'll go with this one, I think. And to be fair, we do have a very unusual power, being able to access a reservoir of energy with us being able to learn different ways to use it to achive a variety of effects. So linking it with magic/using magic terminology could just be interpreted as the way we see that system, since it applies pretty well.

Although someone on SB conviced me that this one might be good as well, on the basis that Saint and the Dragonslayers won't be able to do much with magitech without magic, while Dragon might be able to build something to salvage the ship.

Also, shouldn't the moratorium still be in effect?

If I understand correctly, reason for parahuman feudalism is not Zion but the growing number of parahumans, mostly villains. Governments just don't have manpower to control them and in the end they'll replace government.
And there is still Endbringers here, so heroes can't go all out.

[jk] i'm a non asshole version of saint

old vote [] Dimensional energy, though I'm still learning. Really I'm more of a thinker then a tinker, Even though I didn't make perfect storm. [] She was given to me by someone I'm very close to. It had requirements that stopped the person from actually using Storm even though they counted as a tinker. Apparently I was one of the only people in the bay that could actually use her as more then a paperweight. after talking to me and realizing that I could not only use but fix it they were happy.

[X] Can you keep a secret, ok it's actually why I didn't try to talk to you earlier. Perfect storm Is tinker tech but I'm not a tinker. Apparently there's some sort of dimensional interference between powers and my device. You need the potential to trigger without actually triggering to use storm. If you try to use it with powers it will reject you or it would suppress your powers completely and leave Storm weaker. Even though a second gen Trigger is supposed to be easier, the knowledge that I didn't actually trigger could change things with people and I don't want that. Still even without powers detailed enough instructions mean repairs aren't a problem so I could probably count as tinker one.

basically I want to tell the truth but phrase it in a way that misleads her to think something else. Mother was a tinker
Honestly I just hate all options including my write in but I have nothing that I like. Perfect Storm counts as an AI Saint hates AI's also the ship has been destroyed so we would be just another crazy cape.

on the plus side i'm now immune to all masters.

Going with the truth defeats any lie detecting software that might be used.
