but I'm not sure calling Thirteenth Hour the "Least Experienced" is entirely fair to her. Yes, she has new abilities now, but she's also technically the most experienced person on the team next to Missy when it comes to fighting other Capes, and that experience could be a boon at the construction outlet.
I did say, "Least experienced
mage" which is true. She's used Guardian Beast, a one-shot spell that only affects another being, and her telepathy variant where she makes a loud mental noise to throw off a master effect. Quite different from "I have an electric sword that I can stab through someone's chest and they won't die." Considering her old role in the protectorate was "Locate Big Bad, then fall gently to sleep in a teammate's arms", there could be some growing pains.
Pairing her with Taylor just kind of worked best for me in my head. Sarah's spells are all ones Taylor possesses (weapon magic, strong shield, ring bind) but the Electrical immunity just works in the most likely area to encounter Flimmern. Taylor's other abilities are useful and powerful to stand apart from Sarah and fill several other roles, potentially simultaneously. And this way we don't double up on the Swords on one team in case they have a counter. I just realized that not only does every team have Wide Area Search with my setup, they also have access to a weakening spell. Nice symmetry.
As for socializing, her first mission which is to complete the dismantling a Nazi gang is probably not the best place, and while Taylor does know Sarah the best, it's still not a lot when compared to the others, so learning a bit more about our newest adult, who's an active combatant and not from Taylor's personal history, cannot hurt. (have an idea for a team-bonding social vote but we'd need to unlock Tim's Barret Boost first).
A descent assessment, and I think a fair alternative to my own vote. I didn't really go into assessing "Who's on First" for the enemy team, because our only real intel tells us where one person Might be, and even that's uncertain.
To be fair, the "Where is the Villain?" thing is just more of a personal thing for me. I read the chapter this morning, then had all day at work to chew over it and think and not post my ideas, so attempting to figure out match ups and locations was a good way to mentally spend the day. Ideas like "What would the floorplan look like?" "Which location would be most flammable?" etc. came to mind (sports store has clothing out in the open, construction store has chemicals i.e toxic fumes).
Little things that I could know (and likely won't until the chapter) that would affect my placements are things like....
Can Krähenmord's minions "see" in a way that counts to Night? They're created from him unlike canonical Skitter's bugs, and if he can see through their eyes, it might prevent Night from being as active as possible (Similar question about Missy's Puppies/Anubis). If he doesn't affect her, having him placed with Night & Fog would add another level of intensity to their fight.
As I said, can Gespenst possess Missy's arm? I considered if he could control a Device, but figured that the anti-master rules counted in this situation. If he got to her early on, and fired the particle cannon at the backs of the others, that'd be a crippling blow from the start.
What does Schütze shoot? Blaster is a very broad term, so anything could be firing in the teams direction when they burst in. Have the speedster juke out of the way works in case it's a barrier-piercing effect.
Not looking for answers to these as that would be blatant metagaming, so we'll see how the vote and the next chapter turns out.
