There was lore that they had lost and he or his apprentices needed to educate them in, but the marines of the XVIIIth Legion had always possessed a talent and artistry in construction and creation that their descendants had maintained. Capua and Husnik had shown that they had absorbed the lessons he had taught them, fully repairing one of their damaged Stormbirds and Thunderhawks, it wasn't quite up to his standards, but once he finished with his current task he will point out to them the areas in which they have failed, and he knows that they will solve those imperfections.

I feel that if Blazing Wardens ever find out that Mist Shrikes are "Night Lords descendant", they will be too ashamed to ever spill anything.

Cool update, love to see Spatha has safely been integrated into the dreadnought. Now let's get a good replacement for him.

Also, I'd love to see a run down on the planet Boshin.

Armor Decorations of the Mist Shrikes
So, a few people have asked about what decorations do the Mist Shrikes notable have in their armor, so here they are.

Severus: Raptor Imperialis on the left knee pad and a Silver Aquila on the Iron Halo.

Karark Zel: Prayers in Binary are inscribed in the chestplate. Has both augmentic legs and arms, helmet has a cog on the left side.

Valzadai: No decorations, doesn´t want to mark himself as a target more than he already is as an Apothecary.

Myrok Kuthil: Has red Nostroman Glyphs in the beaked faceplate and silver ones in the vambraces. The ones in the vambraces are poetry and the ones in the beak translate to "The human is the human´s wolf."

Falce: Purity seals in all parts of the armor, silver skulls engraved in the knee and elbow pads.

Grigori: Has a Deathwatch emblem on the left pauldron. Has an Aquila pendant tied to the right gauntlet, a gift from Joshua.

Domitian: Plenty of Purity Seals in all parts of the armor. Has the Emperor's Speech about Space Marines (They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give themselves to me… You know the one.) in the back of the helmet.

Tullius Apollodorus: Constantly changes decorations, never truly satisfied with the designs.

Marcius Hostilius: Has a kill tally of destroyed vessels in the right side of the helmet, and one of personal kills on the left side. Silver filigrees on all the armor.

Marcus Fretensis: Lighting motive on the gauntlets and chestplate.

Paulus Numerian: No decorations.

Cato Utica: The emblem of his noble house (A quill and a torch) on the chestplate.

Claudius Spatha: Had the genestealer claw from Lezo in the left pauldron and a sword painted on the right vambrace. HIs dreadnought Chassis now has engravings of all the foes he has faced and killed.

Bertrand Dupont: The medal with the Mist Shrike holding a sword on his chest, the heraldry of his noble house (A bridge with two knights standing guard in each side), on the right kneepad, golden filigree all across the armor and a bright green cloak.

Martellus: Lots of gold and silver decorations, very garish look. Laurels on the helmet.

Lepidus: Reticule painted over the right eye lens. Old gang signs (crossed pistols, a skull with bleeding eyes, a smiley face) on the right leg and a kill tally on the right gauntlet and vambrace.

Julius Alesios: No decorations.

Maximinus Thrax: Has chains wrapped around the vambraces.

Pugio: Daggers painted on the gauntlets, childish doodles painted across the legs.

Lubomir: Bone Grinder scales on the gauntlets, Shroudwolf pelt as a cloak, Sadist Shrikes feathers on the greaves and a set of antlers on the helmet (The antlers aren´t from a Mist Deer, but they are a convincing imitation.)

Mezei Balint: He paints black all the battle damage his armor receives once the armor is repaired. Right now he has two bolter round impacts on the chestplate and claw marks on the helmet and arms.

Emilianus Pluvia: Rain motive, with raindrops etched across the armor and cloud in the upper chestplate.

Gallienus: Has a crest on the helmet (Like Cato Sicarius). Silver decorations across the armor

Aelius Catilina: Lots of silver decorations and filigree. Has a very detailed painting of a tortured Eldar on the chestplate.

Constantinus Logos: Has the skulls from the Savage Boss of Braicam and Warboss Hackanslasha and the helmet from a Swooping Hawk Exarch hanging from his hip. Has recently added a red cloak.

Mikhail Vitalievich: Silver decorations across the armor, the names of his dead squadmates written on the left shoulderplate.

Secutor: Silver filigree in the vambraces and shins.

HOw bad is it compared to the Castaferrum(boxnaught) chassis?

Already improved in the Informational
"Master Zel how did that neophite get in the armory?"

"Idk he just showed up one day, keeps talking about fighting the High Lords of Terra and off-worlders. Now Hushnik please teach him how to weld I have to go and save Saptha's life."
I swear it was not on purpose.

QM Notes: So here are the results of Turn 8, start thinking what planet you want for the next excerpt of the Guide. Also, some people have requested a little list of the armor designs of the difference armors, so I´ll post that later in the day. As always, feel free to point out any spelling or grammar mistakes you see, and have a nice day.
I'm going to be honest there been so many planet name mentions so far that I don't know which one already got a guide or only been mentioned once or twice.

I feel like when we saved Lezo we should have received a couple hundred Neophytes for our losses and contributions as tribute. It would have solved the manpower gaps and could have potentially brought the Chapter to full strength.

We can always arrange a meeting with Cartagena and take neophytes from there.

I believe it was an option but it would have cost an Action point plus the influx would have lower the chapter average stats in everything.

So Kuthil is more of a Hobbes than Rousseau kind of guy. Unsurprising for a Night Lord Mist Shrike.
Well to be fair, I seriously doubt Rousseau was picturing the 40k universe when writing.
So the restored Contemptor is worse then Castaferrum? Or is higher number of dice better in this case? How much is proper Contemptor,
Your "kitbashed" Contemptor has almost the same stats that a proper Contemptor, but worse lucidity drain and recovery chance. Castaferrum has the same recovery as a proper Contemptor, but worse stats over all. As such the ranking would go Legion Contemptor>Spatha´s new ride>Average Castaferrum.

Loved the update. Spatha lives!!! And we have a cools new Land Raider.

Looking forward to the orbital rings completion. It would be nice to be able to build your own ships.

I got that but I still don't get how Spatha's new ride compares to other dreads speifically in lucidity drain. Also, while looking stuff up,I came across Contemptor Cortus variant which seems to be what we accidentially recreated with Spatha.

Worse lucidity than both regular Contemptors and Castaferrum. Also, yes, you basically have a Contemptor Cortus, only that instead of a established, lower quality model yours is basically a homebrew repair of a proper Contemptor.

We are building out Chaplaincy the Apothecary and forge personall quite nicely i think after a couple more turns we would be able to send some on a permanent basis to a few companies

Gotcha. Any chance we would be able to address the lucidity issue? Also, my understanding is that "homebrew repair" is how Cortus pattern began. :V
