It's a Girl's World -- And Lilly wants Adventure

[X] [YoN] Yay. We want to hear the rest of Lilly's story. Even if it gets slow and has occasional errors that need fixing.

Seems like a clear choice to me. Things might need to be simplified a bit, but that's okay as long as they preserve the flavor.

I believe most of the time vague mentions can feel like they are super complex, even tho they are simple. Tho you're making it sound you've got both, a complex system with a thousand moving parts, which you've got vague mentions towards. I feel like very few authors write like that. I feel like most authors give vague mentions and only flesh those out once it becomes relevant to the story.

I just wanted to reiterate this. Typically authors do keep things vague except for ideas they are actively developing and bringing into the background.

I sometimes do the exact opposite but for all those ideas I'm actively playing with the timeline in a non chronological order. IE - If you write the present before the past you can have really big problems. And even them what happens is I'm writing snippets that hook into the general timeline I've already developed.

And the one story that doesn't fit that model is due to thematical reasons that are very specific.

Gosh guys, I'm a little blown away by everyone's reaction. I do still enjoy writing this story, it's not like it would be hard to keep chipping away at it piece by piece, I just personally felt like I was going to start missing things and excluding key details as the story continued to grow simply because I didn't have enough time to keep on top of remembering everything and keeping all the notes (so many notes) well sorted. I genuinely didn't expect people to be so committed to keeping it going, especially if that involved altering some story details.

But...

I guess I could continue, if people are willing to accept that my speed of writing isn't ever really going to pick back up to the early days again. And down the line I will occasionally make continuity blunders that need rewrites to fix. (Thankfully all writers have that Concordance power)

Is that something people would be up for?

Yay or Nay: Should the story continue?

[ ] [YoN] Nay. We'd rather you come up with something new that wouldn't have those potential problems.
[X] [YoN] Yay.

There is a caveat. It's as long as you are happy with it rather than that I am. If you are satisfied with what you put together, continue at whatever pace you can. If you aren't happy with it, then don't feel pressure to carry on when you aren't.

This is seriously one of the most fascinating stories I've read on SV in a good while and I would love to see it continue in some form or fashion.

There are quests that takes years to update if necessary, or that have frequent hiatus. I don't see the problem.

Absolutely Yea. 100% for sure.

Good quests are hard to find. Ones you want to keep voting for and following, harder still.

"{Riemannian Geometer} will likely never be even close to powerful enough to truly understand what lays beyond." Oh, Slyvena, you and your jokes.
Actually to me that sounds as either "you will need another significant Perception ability to help this along" or, even more likely, a "this is when you find something else as good to merge with RG, wink wink nudge nudge".
When I read that the "stay or go" decision had been moved up to the next few days, my knee-jerk reaction was "The universe is conspiring to keep Lilly from learning how to read."
:lol::lol::lol::rofl::rofl::rofl:
It's funny because it's true!

As long as you're having fun writing it I won't mind a slow update pace, you'd have to work real hard to become the slowest updating quest on these boards anyway.

But only if you yourself want to continue writing this story :)

God forgive me for my selfishness, but I was in a real funk yesterday over this being dead.

With the caveat that a few others have mentioned that you only proceed as long as you're enjoying writing the story and want to continue. If it becomes a frustrating venture, or something you feel pressured to write, or you just become unsatisfied with then by all means you don't owe us anything.

Well that settles it guys, the story lives on.

Reactions to the Last Chapter
Have I ever told you how much I love these?

In all honesty, I am kinda disappointed we won't get to know all those spicy plot details, but I'm glad the story is continuing!
Well, I mean, you will. Just maybe not before 2023 😅

Joy!
Anyway, plans for the future. Finding a way to move Petal would be helpful, but I'd be willing to settle for getting a way to teleport to her. She has a few defences of her own, but we should probably add to them.

So do we get, like, a vote now? Or is this going to be "Captain Martin speedruns us the Dungeon we totally won't figure out is a dungeon until we've eaten it", up next?

As the font of Lilly's power, Petal is a priority. I can't tell if Soul-Bonding her or Micah is the better pick though.

Micah is in Dreamspace, but Valerie's Command Node has aspects of other Sources besides Oath, so it isn't a stretch to say Dreamspace might be less than secure against unknown enemies.

On Captain Martin, it's a sign of how shaken he is that he almost actually said "dungeon" instead of "wolf attack" when he doesn't want Lilly to know it's a dungeon. I suppose we are dungeon raiding, then?

Also at some point recruiting Madame Silva, slowly easing into an onslaught of negative emotions bottled by {Affective Radiance}, letting Concordance recharge to see if we can subtly help Zach and possibly nudging Lilly's freshly traumatized parents to help him, and experimenting with using Dreamspace for secure comms. Or something like that, according to the plan.
